I own a forester and I love it. It handles like my impreza did and it fits a ton of stuff, awesome car and yes it's not very reliable but oh well, it's worth it
04/05 Forester XT has a EJ255. It's literally the STI longblock. No need to swap the engine, just swap the stuff attached to it. If 04, swap the STI ECU on, for 05, tune it. BOOM! Essentially an STI engine. I think they might have only done a 6 speed swap, not an actual STI engine swap.
@@khanikun2587 they have ej255 short blocks in the 05 forester, i believe the 04 would be the same, the sti ej255 is the long block, but they basically the same thing with a different torque spec because of throttle differences i believe. to get sti power you basically just need to get a sti tmic and turbo and a proper tune.
The shop that did my Envoy's swap (Not for performance but previous owner let it go bad) didn't do the plugs just to save money and time. Needless to say I'm paying for it now haha
did not use proper jack, the floor jack requires flat surface. vehicles which utilize the pinch weld area for structural jacking point require special jack or usually provided with scissor jack with head that has slot for pinch weld to sit in but the lips will contact on inner side and outer side of pinch weld prevent the flattening of the pinch weld
“I've only seen things look this good in like, New Zealand”. North Coast 500 in Scotland. Give it a look, it's 500 miles of some of the most spectacular road in the world. Plenty of great roads around the rest of Europe too, but I'm biased haha.
This brings back so many recent and long memories. That coastal road? You passed where we just were in Florence, OR. That spot that oversaw the Seattle skyline? We visited that place on a music tour. That port of entry? We used to live outside of Vancouver and would go through there every weekend (to shop-dad made a lot in Canada and shopped cheap in the U.S. as a citizen). Brought back some good times. Really good stuff guys.

Dude I ran my evo for 17k with out changing the oil one year. Just had to add a quart every 3k or so. I still have the car and she has 220k with original turbo and powertrain. Fyi I had the car since it had 50k.

I took a Mazda3 with 116,000 miles on it on a 8,000 mile loop around the US last summer with not a single problem. It's all in how well you keep up with your maintenance.
My friend and I know a decent amount of cars and we’ve been talking about cars since we were in elementary, now we both got our permits in the same week and plan on getting cars and our licenses at the same time. Hopefully we can get a first trip during upcoming spring break.

That was the idea of the video. I took my 2005 ACURA RSX with 200,00+ miles on it from Massachusettes to South Florda (like 7 hours south of the state line), and it was fun.
Because removing a wheel is massive and very hard job isn't it? I bet you can do the oil change without removing the wheel but he just did that to make it easier.

I bought my first cherry bomb muffler and shackles for my Buick Skylark there when I was 16. WILD to see my old hometown in this adventure!

He didn’t swap the motor, only the tranny and the rest of the drivetrain excluding the motor. Subframe, etc

nick J pinch welds aren't made for jacks tbh. They when a jack raises it goes up and pulls out. So they bend pinch welds alot.

These cars are old and turbo'd not new turbo like new hondas. Hondas have tranny problems by the way.

Guys, 3700 mile oil change? It's not 1990 and your driving mostly highway and using full synthetics. Take those cars to at least 8k miles.
3700 miles is a good idea just to play it safe. when my engine runs rough i change the oil
i have gone 7500 per manufacturere recommendation but am more comfortable with 5k but yes 3k or so is a bit too conservative
Since these are presumably turbo charged cars they're probably better off changing it at that interval.

Lit Like Larry it takes me 10mins easily in a Impreza and forester. Even with not much mechanical experience it will take someone maximum 30mins to do
