- Blackpool Tram Town. From it's humble position nestled in the heart of the town Blackpool Tram Depot is going through an amazing transformation pioneered by Paul Galley and his awesome team of volunteers.
The tram depot shed was aged, dirty and neglected but slowly the resurrection has taken place with a prime vision to expand the depot into a fully fledged museum.
This short film depicts the true nature of the volunteers, the heartbeat of the depot and what makes them gain the passion to make this depot a serious tourist player on the Fylde Coast.

Not sure if I've been to Blackpool but Ive seen the trams on the cine films that my Dad took. I'm glad that trams will be restored in their original workshops.

Great video buddy, I miss living in Blackpool.
My first memories of Blackpool trams goes back to about 1957. I fondly remember the days of persuading my father to drive home to Preston past Marton depot and glimpsing what was lurking in there. The depot on Red Bank Road at Bispham which occasionally disgorged a tram onto the system.

I might actually want to go to Blackpool to see the heritage trams. Never been to Blackpool and I always wanted to visit Blackpool. But still very interesting video ☺️
Did one night / day in Blackpool (inc full line ride) back in the 1990s, very typical Blackpool Boarding House (I did buy Cheap but was prob the worst of 9 Guest Houses we covered in Lancs Cumbria and Scotland in 12 days !) . Been back since in the 2010s on a day trip to Fleetwood when the newer buses were running but I dont think the new (or any trams) were reaching there that day, decent small book/model rail shop in Fleetwood and a few other things - we probably did crazy golf - we normally do even in off seasons. Back in the 2000s we tended to go to Morecambe as had relatives there.

Blackpool without Trams would be wrong and really in the days where people are urged to use better public transport the tramline should if anything be extended to Preston and then Manchester using the rail service lines if possible. I went to Blackpool a few year back and it felt sleazy and I didn't enjoy it at all, too many arcades of slot machines and drunks being rowdy - I went to Morcambe instead, Southport is another favourite, it's a real shame.
I tend to go to Fleetwood and St Annes. Indeed with Two train routes into Blackpool (and there was a third) there must be scope to add some further tram mileage and connections to other towns.
If you think that's where you strike a match, try it and see! Even a non-safety match won't strike on there. Have another guess at what it's for. Maybe it's where you sharpen your pencil. So I watched 11 seconds of the video - seen enough; I'm off.
