Hi Jane, thanks for yet another interesting and informative vlog 😃 They must have spent millions on that 'museum', and there's lots of interesting stuff to entertain all ages. Plenty for the kids to love. Just one thing, though. On entering the main area the first interactive screen it projects images of buildings and people through the years and a maroon and cream tram travelling across the screen. Now being the geek I am, that is an image of an Edinburgh tramcar which visited the resort, on loan, to help celebrate the tramways centenary in 1985! How come they didn't use an image of the traditional Blackpool Balloon double deck tramcar, painted green and cream, that most visitors associate with Blackpool promenade and that still operate today on Heritage Tours?

The Palatine building that was rebuilt was grotty - a 1960/70's concrete block with loads of decay. So the new building is an improvement - although not especially pretty!

The Illuminations exhibits are most interesting - particularly the rotating drum switch ... good, solid reliable technology! LED displays will not need such a beefy switchgear! I hope that there will be reference to the trams somewhere - at Solaris and now on UA-cam there is a film made in the early 1900's from a tram travelling up the Golden Mile with the tourists garbed in the clothes of that period.
When I worked in London the Victoria and Albert was one of my second homes [as were all the museums] but I never got around to where the clown uniforms were - most of what I saw was Before Common Era [BC as was]. However I did see some of Houdini's effects in a temporary exhibition at the Edward Passmore museun - sadly defunct ... I wonder if the handcuffs I saw were those exhibited in Showtown?
The wallspace in the entrance hall and ticket area needs to be filled and made the most of but maybe that will come. As this is early days I hope there maybe a facility for visitors to contribute their ideas and thoughts for use of the events area as well as memories.
A museum evolves and maybe there could be interpretive actors in approriate outfits playing the part of tourists describing the journey on an excursion train, the B and B rules [6d extra for use of cruet] or maybe describing the dances held on the pier before the Tower Ballroom existed.
There are so many aspects that can be explored and Kris and Myself wish this museum all the very best for a bright, fun future.

The clue is in the description : Museum of Fun and Entertainment. It is an illustration of over a century of the holiday experience of ordinary hard working folk. I have always thought that there is an interesting sociological perspective here yet to be fully explored. This isn’t meant to be The Smithsonion.
