Well buddy I had my bison gt 5g for 2 months and it no longer turns on and when it does it blurry screen. This was a huge waste of money for me. I went and had my galaxy s21fe 5g and I was so much happier than with the gt. Then it was stolen so Im back to using crap unlocked phones. I will never go rugged again as it was a pretty bad experience for me and that's just my thought. If you like them it's cool and I'm not hating on it. Cause it was packed with features and fun just didn't justify paying over 200 for 2 or 3 months of use.
I received mine yesterday and am very pleased with it. I've spent hundreds of dollars (literally) on cases for my S21 Ultra, but like you said, this one doesn't even need a case. It's a keeper! It's only been 24 hours, but haven't experienced any issues yet. I'm on Verizon in US. Even though Verizon says it's not compatible, all the phone and network features are working perfectly fine.
Ordered mine and coming direct from China for nearly half the selling price in Canada. 4-6 week shipping and hopefully its worth the wait. Thanks for the video!
I have this phone, and I definitely do not recommend it. It's a great and fast phone, but my friend and I got it, and we both faced issues with the touch screen and microphone after around 6 months. Touch screen goes crazy, noting that we haven't exposed it to water neither physical shocks. My worst decision was buying this chinese phone.
I just bought the UMIDIGI BISON X10. UPON Putting in the 8 digest pass code, and face ID. I shut off the phone, and when I turned this phone back on the phone went into a continuous Boot Loop. Shutting down, and turning back on continuously without going to the home screen. Needless to say I am returning it, and purchasing the Pro Series!
I am very unhappy with Umidigi. Though the Umidigi Bison x10 boasts incredible specs for a decent price, it was the macro 5 mp features that ultimately swayed me to choose the Umidigi Bison x10. But sadly this feature has been a huge disappointment. I bought a Umidigi Bison X10 5 months ago because of all the good reviews. By now we know 5-star reviews are mostly paid for or fabricated. Besides the X10 disappointing camera features, I also experience problems with the sound and most recently the failure of the fingerprint sensor unit. When I researched online, I discovered that this is a common occurrence. The warranty is also a big turn-off. Clearly, there is a problem with BISON X10 and they should recall the whole series. The failure of sensors and other parts on new phones is ridiculous. It is better to have a less rigid phone and drop it than to have a rigid phone that can not function under normal use. Though Umidigi offers a ONE-year warranty they settle with the warranty offered by their resellers instead. Talk about getting knocked off by Umidigi and friends. On the scale of rip-offs, this is a huge 10X fail.
This isn't the most powerful "rugged" phone Umidigi has to offer. The Bison Pro has the Helio G80 chipset. I have the Bison GT which has the Helio G95. Ram and storage are equivalent. The GT has a larger screen at 6.7". Great phones, my kids have the Pro while my wife and I daily drive the GT.
@@orlandoterte they have not as of yet... there are rumblings of it hitting soon though. Umidigi is pretty far behind on updates and it is a bit discouraging, but I love the phone so I can see past the latest Android version right now. Personally I'd love to put Lineage OS on the GT and the entire Bison lineup. I do know of some work towards accomplishing this task, but it is a while away from perfect.
@@orlandoterte they are both great, they both work perfectly with Verizon here in the US. I also have a A11 from Umidigi and though not nearly as tough, it's also a decent phone. Umidigi seems to be producing some nice stuff at a great price! 😉
Broke my Bison GT phone buy falling off a fallen tree trunk that I was walking along fell & landed with my phone in hand with my full body weight onto the log. They are very well built phones, but don't handle 11 stone of weight falling on them. Prior to that, dropped it 45ft down a church spire ladder onto concrete steps & it held out pretty good, only minor scratches, replacing the GT with the Bison Pro... Zello button is kind of annoying but other than that not many faults with these phones...
Update on the Bison Pro - Few bugs compared to the Bison GT, Pinch to zoom on maps does not work very well & only works diagonally left to right, the touch screen is not as responsive and the top corners are not very reactive. issue with having to manually apply the APN settings every time the phone starts & the SD card does not always register until after a few minutes, phones a bit rattetly on tapping anywhere around the bottom right of the device & there's a glitch when adding app icons into grouped folders, if you try and add more than One page of app icons, it glitches out and the folder disappears. if your looking at these two phones to compare them. definitely go with the Bison GT over The Bison Pro, used & owned both & the GT doesn't have any of the above issue's & it's got better spec's....
yowwww 😂 broke my Bison about a year ago falling on the sidewalk with the phone on my palm screen down and pretty much landing on the phone first. I'm using it rn still 😂 it takes a lot to break this phone
A high % of these phones do not work with faulty processors causing repeated crashing. UMIDIGI does nothing to honour their warranty, you should avoid them at ALL costs!
the camera lens is not shock proof (as mine broke) and here in Canada does not load certain apps, even with location changed. As for the phone and games its great.
Dang bro... Yu beat me... I was thinking of doing a review when I receive mine love my 1st Gen Bison.. Now only if someone would make a working twrp recovery for this thing..
I bought a power 3 that came with a 256gb memory card in it on eBay for £77. Used it for 13 months and then sold the phone (without the card) for £100 yesterday. Looking at what new phones umidigi have out. How do they compare?
Hi thank you for review. I am looking at it for dedicated offline gps. What service did you use? Do you think it will work with redcard sim to download apps?
Glass has a protective hard glass protector added in the factory as a pro, con all glass has no side protection to stop the phone falling on its glass face: First Time When I dropped the phone the screen glass cracked across underneath the actual LCD screen, the top protection they added I had put a protective rubber case around that back of the phone with another protective glass to protect what the factory had put on it. The problem is the phone side edge needs to be higher than the glass to not use the glass face as the protection because the LCD screen as it won't get scratched, it can't handle any face impact without breaking. The screen protector that I added got chipped and scratched everywhere it made contact with the ground. Even with the third glass cover making the face even higher. The phone needs to have the side edge not flush with the glass to give the glass protection. The same problem with the glass around the camera needs to have a higher ridge to protect that glass, I read a comment that the first time it fell on the back broke the camera glass. I have now bought a new wallet case that does give ⅛" raised back that stops the phone from falling on the camera glass if it falls flat, unless it falls on a rock on the camera it will break that glass. Luckily the camera stopped working and I'm able to return this phone with the cracked LCD, otherwise I'm not sure if this rugged phone can be returned because the first time it falls on the Glass face it cracked the LCD behind the protective cover? The LCD didn't get a scratch on it but clearly won't be water proof anymore and from what I've heard the company won't repair their own phones so there's no getting parts for them. Comments say theirs no help after warranty runs out.
Keep getting a glitch on this phone after replacing my old Bison GT, for the Bison Pro... Something keeps taking over the screen, scrolling up & down, Pinch zooming & clicking on random stuff... Anyone know how to fix this? Also call signals not great & people can barely hear me 60 - 70% of the time...
I'm in the USA and use Tracfone. Now Tracfone uses the Verizon network BUT they say I can't use my Bison Pro with their service. Has anyone had the same problem? Is there a solution? Any help is appreciated
I would really recommend people to NOT buy this phone. I bought one and it is totally unusable, it constantly crashes and reboots, Umidigi so called warranty is totally useless. I see there are many people experiencing the same problems.
I connected it to my desktop but cannot figure out how to transfer files. Computer cannot see the folders on the 256GB internal drive which renders it rather useless. Does anyone know how to transfer files from a desktop to this phone?
For the first 200 or so charges it's ok. Then it diminishes just a little. It is a Lithium Ion, so full 100% DOD cycling of the battery, is only good for about 400 or so recharges before it drops in capacity. You can extend the life of the battery is you recharge at 20% depth of discharge, and may extend battery life for more than 4000 cycles at that DOD.
Just received this phone today in the mail, looking over it looks good, but where the thermometer sensor is, the glass over the camera doesn't go flush over it, there's a circular section of glass just over the thermometer which is inset into the rest of the glass, does seem a bit loose or like it'd not really be waterproof & the inner circle wiggles a lil' bit. Not sure why it's not just one pane of glass over the whole camera section. Anyone else noticed this or why it'd be slightly loose.. if you got one of these, can anyone reply & say whether there's is the same.. the old GT version I had just had one rectangular widow shaped pane of glass with no cut-out section... Not sure why they made this one different...
