Whats oils should we test next? Viscosity? Brand?
Motorcyle oils maxima 10w40 amd 20w50 vs????
@@ajaxracing thanks for the suggestions
Test two of the most common motor oils for European cars. Mobil 1 0W-40 vs Castrol Edge 0W-40. I have always wanted to see them head to head, I have heard great things about both oils. The 0W-20 series has been a good one.
0w-40 oils!
Motorkoke vs turbo Maxx vs other anti-friction products.
I've used both brands & never had an issue with either!
Provide fantastic lubrication & keep engine sludge to a minimum, although i personally always use engine oil flush after every 2 oil changes.
Keeps the engine noise quiet low for some reason, lol
How do I perform an engine oil flush? Thanks in advance
@@emreconklu3498Buy Liqui Moly engine flush and the directions will guide you, it's very good stuff. I use Liqui Moly Long Time High Tec good for about 25k miles but I change every 4-5k miles
You buy an engine flush from your preferred brand and use it with the engine in operating condition for 10/15 minutes then change the oil and filter
The hardness of bearings can be very different, I would like to see the wear test done in a different spot on the exact same bearing for each comparison. Maybe 180° offset from each other.
That would be better control of the experiment.
@@MrROTD Multiple trials with different bearings is usually how you would wash out those sorts of variables. Ideally, anyway.
You just can not listen! MOBIL 1 IS BETTER! WAKE UP!
I really like that your videos are short and concise rather than droning on for tens of minutes. Just the relevant facts
Fact: Liquid Moly Doesn't even have Moly in it.
It's not liquid moly genius it's liqui.
Is this a fun fact? Or an aggressive fact?
it has got molybdenum in it and titan. 2019 it changed completely with API SN plus RC
I don't know the reason but someone whistle my ears that you advertise Mobil 1!
Will continiou to use Liqui!
I watched several different test videos which liqui beat others. Have a good day
I agree. The volume of loss is not proportional to the mass loss measured. Same bearing, same density. Showing the pictures and then manipulate (or ignores the obvious errors) the mass loss results makes this review not credible.
No in 5-30 oil championship Mobil 1 looses from Amsoil. If he advertises Mobil 1 all championships should had Mobil 1 first 😆
Definitely looks biased toward mobil 1.
Been using Mobil 1 for a long time your test tells it was the right choice ! Thank you
This isn’t statistically independent data or testing. Nobody ever does a single trial and determines a winner from that. You MUST run each experiment at LEAST 3 times but really 5 is better. Otherwise too many variables which can result in sources of error. Thanks for sharing the video though :)
How come this same Mobile 1 produced a 0.03gram loss when it went against Amsoil and now it does a 0.01gram loss against Liqui Molly? Shouldn't it be consistent?
Truth7 EndTime exactly
The scales are calibrated each time the test is performed so the difference should be considered between two of them and not the other results.
Please to test Liqui Moly Molygen 5-30 and which Liqui Moly is the best?
I'll keep using mobil one 0w 20 in my 2015 Silverado. Thanks for the videos Nate. You're the best.
0W-20 is a Silverado? I thought it would use like 5W-30 or something.
@@ryanlittleton5615 yeah, they use it for fuel efficiency. I hope it's not going to be a problem down the road.
@@kurtzimmerman1637 Oh wow. I would've never thought that.
@@kurtzimmerman1637 If the engine is made for 0W-20, it shouldn't be a problem.
@@kurtzimmerman1637 CAFE standards. It’s not about protecting your engine
Thanks for this test. I changed to Mobil 1 0w20 oil today.
For me Mobil1 is one of the best oil
Silly and invalid test as Mobil 1 is fully synthetic but liqui moly tested here is semi-synthetic! Comparing apples to oranges😂
I’m always intrigued on brands like LM, Redline and Motul but always end up with Mobil-1 due to 1) availability 2) price and a champion on results. Thanks to your tests for proving that I made the right choice!! 🏁🏁
Molygen
I think these tests means nothing, because inside the motor is a high temperature and the oil specification changes too
For all intents and purposes, the Liqui Moly and the Mobil 1 are essentially equivalent. The only real difference is that the Liqui Moly is formulated for the sulphur and ash requirements that European vehicles need. They have to pass different pollution standards, and therefore require different additives.
It seems as though the sulfur and ash requirements for liqui moly are ment for California as well lol

Always love these kind of tests. "Best" could still be subjective due to multiple variables, but at least it gives a good idea for consumers of which the top half are vs. the bottom. That said, a couple years later, think we could get a followup recap video, with a ranked list of the results? Like Pennzoil barely lost to Amsoil in rd. 1, but very well may have still performed better then much of the field?
Maybe even retest the top 3 or 4 against any new comers, or new brand technologies making bold claims?
Maybe with the head2head done, take the "true" final 4, the four that had the best empirical data numbers regardless of which round, and take 4 bottles of each, and do 4 of each test, incl. 4 four-way pour tests, and compile averages to see which performs best consistently.
Ive used Valvoline and Pennzoil for years and no issues. Decided to use mobil 1 and twice have had to add a quart of oil. Switched back to Pennzoil no issues. Mobil 1 must be evaporating ?
I think LIQUI MOLY is the best Oil 👍
yes it is
better than bardhal? I don't think so
I agree with your results BUT how I would like to see the same tests, is on 1 video, conduct only one test on ALL the oils, then record the results of all the oils after 1 test at a time, then move onto the next test .. At the end the DATA could be compared. Then dis-assemble and mic. 2 small engines and run the top 2 oils in each one for a specified time... Then, dis-assemble again and mic. them again. Compare them for wear. Cheers
It would be nice to pit the champion against other big names such as Shell, Total, etc.
Last time Likvi Moli lost 4 grams, this time 10, the difference is more than double! Similar situation as with lucas
Yeahhh I was thinking that. Doesn’t make sense.
Yes a difference in time tested for the championship and temperature change.
i find it weird too
Idk it looks like a mix up of which weights he said lost the weight. If I'm correct the top weight was liquid moly so it only lost .4 the bottom was Mobil 1 and it lost .7. ... Watch where he places them after the weight before the test. Moly on top, Mobil on bottom then mixed up which was which. . . I think
I want to see a test by any other than an American. Your accent said southern. Can't trust no southern boy to test German vs American.
I try almost every oil out there and my favorite is Mobil 1. I am using mobil 1 ultimate 0w40 for my motorcycle and it works really good on reducing vibration and more acceleration. Oil last long too
Molygen
Wet clutch? Don't (most) motorcycles need motorcycle specific oil because the clutch uses engine oil as well...
Chevy says you have to use mobile one in corvettes. If it's good enough for corvettes, it's good enough for my old ford
👍 👍 👍 . . . and for my old AUDI too !
Where is Shell? What about comparing Shell oil to others?
The past film strength tests for Liqui moly are as follows: .01g, .04g, .10g. So obviously this test should be disregarded given how inconsistent it is. But the efficiency test seems to be pretty reliable: 3.9, 4.0, 4.01 amps. It would be cool to see an excel sheet with these different measurements so we can see the best in each category and then can weigh the price/performance ratio.
that's right, in addtion, all other channels have different results !
Can you test 0W-20 Toyota Motor Oil?
Most forums say Mobil 1 and Toyota are the same. Maybe its time to test these 2 and see if they are the same.
It’s the same. Nissan also we use Mobil 1 here at Nissan
would love to see mobil l tested with liquid moly mologen----after both had been in a car for-5000 miles--then do a friction test--or any oil after a drain-see how much it lets the bearing wear then
me 2
I only use Liquid Moly in my Lamborghini and Audi, I won’t use anything else 💪🏾
Liquid 😂
_________________ auto correct added that
i believe you dear David 😂
Hahaha ok sure...
Liqui moly bad oil
The liqui moly is probably best in high temp situations if it actually contains molybdenum. You might not need it unless you work your car extremely hard.
Always used mobil 1. I don't get annual protection because i change my oil often anyways.
Mobil 1 was suprising in the championship.
Mobil 1 AP and Mobil 1 AFE and Mobil 1 EP all have very different formulations.
Janix Saldivar annual protection is BS. In order to run that oil for that long. The condition needs to be perfect. Heat temp humidity just to make a few. I change my oil every 5K liqui moli used to run Mobil 1.
Idk , something is off as does the moly wear scar honestly look 10 times bigger then the mobil wear scar ?
The depth of the bearings scar plays a large role in weight thanks.
@@NATESINTERACTIVEAUTO the depth look Identical plus if 10 times deeper it would have to be wider to
Why did those wear scars look the same size but end up being 10x the loss? I think something is off with your testing. What were the wear scar sizes throughout the championship of all the competitors compared? I use Mobil 1 but this is definitely off, scroll through your comments, I’m not the only one that thinks these results are not accurate. Why don’t you use calipers and measure the size of the wear scars as well?
Yes the depth of the scars plays a large part in the weight and i have used calipers in the past there is a time difference in testing for the championship also temperature change.
It seems that this is ad for mobil1 rather than test of 2 oils, did mobil 1 experts pay you for this ad.
You should've used liquimoly 2332 0w40
Did you switch the position of the bearings because the moly bearing was up top and mobile 1 on bottom whick means the moly lost .04 grams and mobile 1 lost .07 grams just wondering good video
Thanks to all the lubrication engineers for your highly enlightening opinions. Hopefully we will be able to see the results for all of the various oils you have tested under strict laboratory conditions.
lol
I use mobil 1 but this test is totally bogus.
Great Video! Would love to see this with 0w-40 from Liqui Moly and Mobil1, eventually additionally Shell... Great channel, bro!
I've used Liqui Moly and Motul for years in my VW's....never an oil realated issue in several VW's, I'm on about 17 or em.
Test Ravenol. Also, What do the oils do at high temperature like when they are in an engine?
Can you do a test of 0w-30 Engine Oil. Im not sure if you have any videos at al on 0w-30 Oils vers 5w-30
I don't understand these tests. Is there a vid explaining them?
Cold pour test doesn't determine winner or loser. Both are equally acceptable in cold weather. Unless you are at the extreme cold pour, like north alaska, this cold pour doesn't determine much of anything.
I'm a little confused on this one. I got a 5.7 hemi
Liquid molly 5w-20 temperature 194-197 ish
Mobile 1 5w- 20
temperature 195-200 ish
Which one should I stay with??🙏 180 Thermostat.
Initially used Mobil 1 and the engine developed a ticking sound. Switched to Liqui Moly and the sound disappeared. Will stick with Liqui Moly.
Underground Racing warranty’s their 1,000+ horsepower TT Lamborghinis for like 2 years if you use the Mobil 1 that they spec. Good enough for them good enough for me.
Have you ever tested Triax FS oils?
Have you done a video on Mobil 1 extended performance 0-w20? If not please 🙏🏼
Questionable but interesting. I have been using Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Full Synthetic Extended Performance in my 16 Prius an feel like I have to do oil changes very often. I’ve concluded to changing every 3,000 miles. Oil is black every time?
I have heard that the better oils will be darker as they suspend the unwanted material where other oils may not.
I am not a lubricant specialist…..I just had the same question.
You can't judge an oil by color alone. Does it smell burnt? Have you had the used oil tested for contaminants/metals, etc.? I put in green liqui moly molygen 5w-30 and I guarantee you it will come out dark brown. Over time and many heat cycles, oil will change color.
Nate, it does appear that the wear scars are very close in size, but way off in weight difference. I might suggest doing this championship face off of M1 and LM again. This is the only time I've seen some in inconsistency in your testing.
Yes a difference in time and temperature change has made a difference what new testing methods can we try?
NATES INTERACTIVE AUTO I’m not sure other than trying to reproduce the same conditions for each test. There never will be a perfect test, but trying to eliminate most of the variables will help to make the test more accurate. One thing we know from this competition, is that LiquiMoly and Mobil1 are excellent oils.
It would be interesting to do those tests on these oils with 10,000 miles on it.
Good suggestion
please test PETRONAS oil next, tq
Can you test Mobil 1 0-40 w vs Liqui Moly 2040 Synthoil Premium SAE 5W-40 Motor Oil
Thank you
I’m confused amsoil beat Mobil 1 but then Mobil 1 beat amsoil then beat moly 🤷🏻♂️
Playback speed X 1.5 you are welcome
¿es posible que pueda indicar el TBN de cada una de las marcas del lubricante utilizadas en este test?
Hay otro canal q te muestra el tbn
Liqui moly wins no matter what. Best everything.
The bearing test leaves questions for me. Do a test on a bearing and then flip the bearing over and run the other oil, same bearing?
Not super surprised for the xx-20 tournament results. Think I read on Bitog that the M1 0w20 AP is the first oil to have a better base oil than PPU 5w30.
Which is the better Engine Oil in-between three ones for my Nissan Terrano Diesel 2014 Model. 1lac80 thousand Driven.
1) Mobil 1™ 5W-30
2) Mobil Super™ 3000 X1 Formula FE 5W-30
3) Mobil 1™ ESP Formula 5W-30
Can you do a test with the Honda HG full synthetic oil vs Mobil1,.... was missing 1 pint of 0w20 after 20000km vs less then a quater with the Honda's juice, I just use Honda blood on my Accord.
Realy great job! Thank you.

I'll take the one MADE IN GERMANY , thnanks a lot...
Buy 100% PAO OIL (RAVENOL.,L.MOLY,WURTH) 70-75$ expensive but best!
Why didn’t you use Liqui Moly Molygen? this is there best oil with most anti friction additives
Cause Molygen comes out 5-40 SAE type oils
From my experience Mobil 1 is better anyways. You can actually buy it at most shops and it’s more affordable

I love liqui moly, but recently I’ve been running bardahl 5w-30 XTC you have to order it direct from Seattle in the states.
There’s a lot of variables. I take my time warming up the engine in my 2013 Cooper s. Using liquid moly.
It’s incredible. The car just wants to go fast, never experienced this before using other brands. It’s expensive; but boy the performance.
Shout out to MMS Auto! In California.
You should also have included a thermal breakdown test. Heat them up and see who has better thermal protection
These all seem to be cold, room temperature test, which is not the same as a 200*F engine. The bearing test might generate heat, but not anything close to the inside of a running engine
Can you test Motorex 10w60 cross power to Mobil/ Motul 10w60 ? Thanks for the information !
and why you are getting different test results for same oil, but in different competition???? these tests are not reliable
Identical wear scar, but Liqui Moly lost 10x more mass...??? I think measuring scar length, would provide better info.
Should have heated up the oil because Zn(zddp) in oil doesn't really perform at room temperature.

Hi. It will be more efficient if the friction test is applied again after using the oil. Then we can see the real damage.
Can you test BARDAHL 10W40, and is there any difference between motorcycle and automobile oil? Maybe compare it with Motul, Liqui Molly...
Bardahl is number 1 crapp oil
There is another video of oil championships on UA-cam that tested these two and all the other name brand oils and penzoil ultra platinum and amsoil came out on top even over these two
Yeah i test different types of a brand Also some different Viscositys. You can see his the pennzoil changed close to the end which isn't fair but i know it wasn't on purpose.
can you do a similar using these on a Tesla?
I use both Liqui Molly & Mobil 1 in my BMW they are both my 2 favorites

This oil battle video was intense
Can’t hardly blame them. Oil is something the German’s have been having a hard time figuring out for a while now. The Americans though, believe me when I say they know about oil.
Quién me ayuda?! Soy el único comentario en español. Tengo una Suzuki grand Nomade 2.4 Gasolinera uso 5w30 Cuál es mejor? Mobil 1 o LiquiMoly?
anyone tried Molygen 5w40?
Hi, I have a 2009 BMW 525d. 220.000 km. it’s better Liqui Moly 5w40 or Motul x-clean 5W40 I would like the best oil. I live in Greece. Who it’s the best for this car?
The best oil is Mobil 1 and Lukoil Genesis.
For your car its Mobil 1 0w40 or Lukoil Genesis 5w30.
Should add a test for heating the oils to 400 F to see who burns off more. I’d rather that instead of the efficiency test.
What new testing methods can we try and thats a good suggestion

How about Ravenoil
Amsoil is the best American made motor oil, Mobil 1 is just a giant company with big name selling the brand not protection!!!
I don't believe your test... It's to confusing... The way you choose oil is unfair... You should choose the High End Oil from each company/ each brand then do the test... High End vs High End oils and Not High End vs Low End it's just unfair to the other oils...
I did just that look through the tournament.
I never seen anyone test Pakelo , hope you can try it !
