I think what you're seeing is normal for that reverted Thai Sunrise. Costa Farms actually sells the Golden Goddess in the US, which is that exact plant ... a reverted Thai Sunrise. They are quite splotchy. From a distance they look similar to a Moonlight, or upright Lemon Lime, but up close they definitely have a splotchy variegation to them. That's the best way to describe it I can come up with. Also, they can trail ... which is what yours is trying to do. Mine is the same way. It's absolutely wild and I love it!
I have one and I know exactly what you’re talking about. Mine reminds me of the pattern on a painted lady but a bit softer and smaller if that makes any sense.
Hi Kaylee! One thing - I've been growing foraminifera for a while now, both variegated and green, and your plant doesn't look like one... It looks like an Epipremnum giganteum, which variegated form is also circling around these days. Of course I might be wrong here, no pressure :) But I'd still double check with your supplier... I recently got foraminifera instead of a megasperma, it seems they really get confused a lot. And the beautiful plant you showed next to it looks like a beccari, they are so so difficult! Mostly because in nature they are actually semi-aquatic, but they grow in running water not ponds, so I assume they have very particular needs that are tough to replicate for us. Mine is growing vines with tiny leaves all over my prop box, I need to figure out how to get them even to the size you've shown, the mature leaves on the beccari are to die for! But yours is impressive already!
I agree it doesn’t look anything like the Foraminifera that I grow. Leaves that size of mine have their holes showing by then. Leaf sharp and growing pattern is different as well. Regardless the plant she hauled is quiet lovely!
also. my thai sunrise. when I stuck him in the grow tent, I was able to cut him in half and then 4 new growth point popped put. 3 out of 4 had good stable variegation. Good luck either way 😉🤪
My Thai did exactly the same thing. They notoriously lose their sectoral varigation when propagated then seem to produce this speckled varigation instead.
Just so you know, I have an all green philodendron domesticum growing outside year-round near San Francisco. It never gets below freezing, but it can be 5°C occasionally on the coldest nights. It has no problem. It’s getting big.
Omg kaylee I totally didn’t know you were going to talk about the Varigated Thai sunrise you are so correct mine did the same first it died back down and now has literally came back but looks like a a mini bush bonsai ahhaha
It's a mojito Tai sunrise! Mottled green on green speckle like a Tai constellation :) he's pretty cool! And I love all the surprises! Funny how often you lose and forget plants haha
does anyone remember Kaylee talking about a new plant hybrid from australia that people are waiting to hit the market? I tried to find the video where she mentions it, but no luck, I can't remember the name of the hybrid
So I propagated a variegated SOH and the new little plant has one string that reverted back to green half way down the sting 🤷♀️ its in the same very sunny window the mother plant is in for years and have never had it revert at all. Can it revert just from the stress of propagation?
From my experience with Thai Sunrise, the green on green (or yellow on yellow, depending on light) mottled-like variegation is a key identification of a Thai Sunrise and completely normal. Even without the lemon yellow inside and green margin, they are all still Thais. It's how people can ID them apart from Golden Goddess/Upright Lemon Lime even without the dark green. I bought a Thai Sunrise early in my plant journey, all the leaves with the dark green margin fell off. For so long I was convinced the seller pulled off a really good scam, that I just had a GG with reversion, since the green never came back (it's been 2 years!). That was until I got it in better light and noticed the mottling!
screaming crying. the BEAUTY.. OF THE PLANT IN THE THUMBNAIL. oghhhhh my God. 🤩😍 Ugh kayleeeeee... how you find this fucking STUNNERS 🥰😍 great video, per usual. You rock.. my socks. 😜🤪😍
Kaylee! Some time ago you gave us an email to send you our crazy plant stories. I know you are busy but I was wondering if you are still planning to do that :D
My silver swords never grow like that. They start twisting and take on these weird shapes. And then they die! I absolutely love them but there's something about them.....
I feel like 95% of the SS I see are so twisted and awkward... I got one and cut it up so I could start my plants from day #1 training them on the pole in an ordely fashion from the start.
So I had to severely sun stress my Thai sunrise, but when I did the variegation came back! Granted, the solid yellow leaves all burnt off… but I put hormone on the remaining leaf nodes to regrow them… if you get really desperate like me let me know if it works for you too. 😅
Really don’t wanna be a downer here and you know far more about these things anyway. But if no one noticed it being variegated for so long, are you sure it isn’t viral? Really hope it isn’t because he’s really cute. ❤

I agree, I also see the splotchy on my reverted Thai Sunrise.
I had the Thai Sunrise an propagated it, the dark variegation never came back. ☹️ Ya never see the variegated one anymore.

Kaylee i love your hair in this style!😻😻so gorg!!

14:56 - "he's been rescued from up north, north of the wall" - I have to know if this was an intentional GOT reference 😂
I got a variegated philo summer glory! Super pumped about it.
the rhaphi foraminifera is stunning oh my god❤️❤️❤️

The rhapidophora reminds me of ficus Shivereana Moonshine
I’ve had my Florida beauty go all neon green all white and some good candy cane nodes went all green :/ I’ll chop again and try
Quick question: have you experimented with fluval stratum yet? If not it's definitely worth looking into
I’m curious about this too! I’d love to hear her take on it!
Variegated Silver Sword is my top wishlist plant!! Now that you have one, maybe the price will start to come down! A girl can hope lol
I have a platinum mist spathiphyllum

The reverted Thai sunrise is just a golden goddess, the Thai is much harder to keep. The yellow happens so quickly. Lol

Wondering where you get your shelves?
Wuuhuu from the wall again 😍😍
another cool Raphidophora is R. megasperma
Scindapsus black mamba update. We need it ;-;
I suggest setting up a rostrum camera - one pointing down that you can manual focus
Hey 👋
Wt happened with the seller?
What was the second rhaphidophora?
Kaylee! Some time ago you gave us an email to send you our crazy plant stories. I know you are busy but I was wondering if you are still planning to do that :D
Nah… hate cliffhanger endings. 😂❤😂
You should cut the top off your Philodendron Domesticum, sell one, keep the other and switch out your personal plant that have too yellow leaves 😁
Kaylee! Great channel. Have you ever heard of or seen as variegated warocquenum?

RIGHTT THE STEMS GO WEIRD DIRECTIONS. I'm also starting from bebes
That other rhaphidophora you showed kind of looks like corn 😄😄
💕💕
so, what has happened with the shitty seller?? Hoping they did the right thing!!
