Great video! I really like this idea! As someone who have no modular gear except a 2600, do you think the Bitbox mk2, Beads, Blades and Maths could be a start? Should I buy a mixer for this? If so, an recommendations?
Thanks for sharing and stopping by! I could definitely recommend the bitbox mk2 or the bitbox micro (it's smaller brother) Also Maths for sure. I'm not quite. understanding your question about the mixer though since the word "mixer" can mean multiple things in eurorack. I think the thing you need to definitely consider is how to get. your eurorack sound out into your daw or a 2 track recorder so you can get something out of it. Unless this is a pure performance machine? Something like the AUDIO I/O from intellijel is what I recommend for getting eurorack level signal back down to DAW levels. There is also the MIxup from Intellijel as well, which is very good and affordable, with a mute switch which is super handy! Let me know what you're thinking!
Would you still use the Befaco if you wanted to use an Ipad as a sampler/input device? Or maybe what would you recommend for that situation, stereo line level in from an ipad, microfreak, maybe after pedals as well, feeding a Beads or effect Euro unit.
Hey Nathan! Thanks for stopping by. So since eurorack level is like +18db hotter than line level inputs, tf you're trying to get an iPad or a Microfreak, or Pedals, even, you need to bring that level up quite a bit. And even a Direct Box won't be enough unfortunately from my experience. You need something like a Strymon Amplifier Attenuator or Intellijel Audio I/O that properly converts in and out line level signals. I know, it's another annoying expense BUT the HOT eurorack signal is what keeps it from interference, the ability to do crazy mults and splits, and host of other advantages. So yeah... I'll probably do a vid on this issue but there are other great videos on "how to get line level" signals IN and OUT of the Eurorack!
Hey dude, is there somewhere I can talk to you? I have a friend coming into town and she's a singer. I was thinking of how to utilize her voice with my eurorack, and I wanted to do that orchestra setup with the 1010 like you're doing. I just was wondering how you're doing that, and wanted a little advice/help there. Could we talk? Thanks bud, love your stuff, talk soon hopefully
I really enjoyed the narrative here .. jumping straight over to part 2 .. nice one
Looks like a lot of fun! Can't wait to hear what sounds you get out of it!
