HItachi are so far behind they have already lost 15 million in fines to emr by the time they all all delivered the contract might be up for renewal so emr can say thanks but no thanks
Finally 8xx train, which looks different to other trains form family. BIG PLUS for front "Station indicator" above windscreen. Same strory was Voyager vs. Meridian (MML version was updated and more spacious)
look good lets hope they are more comfortable than the azuma's i dont like those ironing board seats an d i like to look out of a window not at a huge window post
Very much agree. Travelled frequently from Manchester to Carlisle with Trans Pennine. Used to be 8 coach trains, now 5 coach trains similar to these being discussed. Every train now completely overcrowded.

These are 5 car so if they couple two together they can fit a 10 car in the platform - that’s also why they have 23 metre long carriages instead of 26 metres
@@liamgunn4722 The trains are 5+5 coach sets so they can split along their journey, as the whole train does not go to the same destination, and both destinations have less demand than a full 10-car set, hence the 5+5 coach units that split. This is a very common practice on the railways.

That's not Hitachi's fault. That's down to the customer's spec, in the case of the GW 80X stock the DfT. Just like the class 700s. A capable piece of rolling stock, let down by poorly specified interior layout and choice of seats.

LOVE THE silver nose it looks amazing colour too CONGRATS EMR
Think it might be worth a trip from Nottingham to St. Pancras, colour is so good.

The nose is actually bronze, but I think it looks much nicer with EMR's purple compared to the standard yellow nose colour!
I must say that it's a very pleasant colour scheme on the exterior.
I do hope that it's fitted with an efficient A/C system for the hotter summers.

According to EMR, these trains will be fitted with best seats in IET fleet.
Nice Spot Of The New Class 810 On Test!
Where they going to be testing these / running mileage accumulation?
the lights make it look sad or is it just me
Five cars…. Recipe for overcrowding 😮

Currently most of trains to St.Pancras toaday is 5 cars.
But these 810 units can be doubled to 10 cars set in Peak.

Apart from the colour, what is the difference between these and the 800-05 variants?
I hate to say this but I don’t like the 810 design. It looks derpy and where is the curve oh the head slope? Gone
These new EMR Class 810s are to replace the Class 222 Meridians. They do look pretty nice.

To think, these will be running on a heritage railway in 25 years!
You realise all heritage lines are non electrified right?
@ChilternTransportProductions you don't even have to hear it.
There.. There multiplying…

Why are the IETs 5 coaches?

Just make 10 and 12 car trains to begin with or even 8 and 12 cars like thameslink

Agreed, requires some decent soundproofing..would not like to sit listening to that din for my journey
Those engines are MTU V12 turbo`s probably the finest diesels on the planet.
The Class 810 Aurora are to replace the Class 222 Meridian/Pioneer DEMUs. Quite like them in East Midlands Railway purple livery. Very nice.
I loke the colour, not the design it looks old fashioned but whaf do i know. 😊
Nice train, bit jerky with camera though, so might need some oil on your turn table.
Try and hold a camera zoomed in and you'll see why😊
