My dog has nose bleeds and the vet wants so much money to get her in.. wouldn't be bad if rent food insurance and everything else in life wasn't so expensive. Wish that vets wouldn't charge so much for a simple blood check. Thanks for the info.

MaskedMageYT my dog’s nose bleeds were caused by an osteosarcoma - ultimately the bone in his upper jaw deteriorated and I took him in for a dental check, thinking he had an abscess. Is your dog showing signs of pain? Pawing at his face, not letting you touch his head? That may also be an indicator of cancer. Osteosarcoma is very painful. He now also has a lump on his face under his eye. Some humane societies offer free or reduced cost vet services. You really should get him checked out.

hello Dr! Our dog ran away last night and was only gone for a few hours but when she returned she was clearly injured from some type of fall. She was moving around find and didnt seem disoriented and was responding to calls , eating treats and drinking water. She got sick once earlier in the night but he pupils arent dilated. Her eye was swollen and she wassquinting, minor abrasions above the eye, so we iced it after giving her a warm bath all night long as we let her rest. However there is a decent sized bump or ridge on the top of her snout and her right nostril continues to bleed very slowly throughout the night. I tried stopping it with ice and cold compress. The one positive is she is able to open her eye again and the swelling seems to have went down. Tomorrow we will take her to the vet to ensure she is okay , but I wanted to ask you what would cause that other then the trauma. I dont think anything is broke because even though she is obviously sore she is not wincing or yelping when being treated. The blood is only coming from one nostril and is coming out very slow. Can this be from damaged blood vessels in the nose? is it common for a dogs nose to bleed for 4-5 hours after trauma occurred? No blood from ears or opposition nostril. Please help
