My male great dane is 3 yrs old. Last year he was dripping blood so the vet did a ultrasound and xray. He has a enlarge prostate so my Mishka was put on a very high dose of antibiotics for 8 weeks. Everything cleared up and the prostate shrunk and no more bleeding until now. I am so afraid something is wrong to cause this to come back. Hi doc!My 11yr old got diagnosed with enlarge prostate today.My vet whom we are visiting from the day he came in my life is saying don't get him operate..he won't be able to bear the anesthesia n the other vet(in another city, visited him the very first time today)is saying get him operated, he's saying he will bear the gas anesthesia not the other one! I don't know what to do.

Spaying and neutering animals is very harmful. A very important part of the body necessary for biological functioning is being forcefully removed. Imagine if this surgery were being performed on human children? Animals deserve to be treated with the same level of respect as people. Nobody deserves to experience this kind of torture.

So if my daughter (2.5 yrs) and I share a bed with our two dogs and she has pinworms it isn’t possible that the pets may pick up the eggs in their fur and then clean themselves and end up with pinworms? Interesting… I’ve been vacuuming daily, showering myself and baby in the am and pm, clipping nails and washing sheets everyday. Including pillows. And she still manages to get them again and again!!!! I was blaming the dogs for that but now I’m wondering what else I can do to end the cycle!!!! Aghhhhh!

Hi, my cat is 6 years old and we took her to the vets recently for a check up, the vet told us that she has a grade 3 murmur in the right side. Is this something to be concerned about? What can we do to prevent or make sure her health will not deteriorate? She’s literally like my child and I would never forgive myself if something were to happen to her. Just Brought my boy home. He is a chihuahua dachshund mix 15 years of age. Had blood work, X-ray and a ultra sound with microscopic sample. Was told his prostate is enlarged and heavy white blood cell count. He is having trouble standing and holding his own weight up for more than a couple minutes no blood in urine or blood leakage stool is soft. Waiting for his result for Sunday or Monday. Prayers.

Very helpful. My 11week golden retriever pup looked quite like the picture shown at the end. I wasn’t sure what was wrong but I didn’t like what I saw on his face so off to the emerg vet (Sunday of course). Although caught fairly early, I can see how quickly it spreads and how uncomfortable for the pup this puzzling disease is. Quinn is on prednisone and an antibiotic. As of this Tuesday am I see some lessening in swelling, bumps around his mouth are less pronounced. His eyes are affected as well. Not much improvement as yet there. I do wipe them clean. He is not lethargic anymore and his appetite is normal with an increase in thirst. Quinn will see his family Vet in a few days for follow up and care. I think this may take some time to clear.
