I just got baptist gold. What are your favorite most useful commentaries in baptist gold? I was curious, I thought it would help prioritize them. Thanks Phil Foster
That is awesome! So I splurged and got the complete John Phillips commentary series as well which is the one I prioritized first, then I have Wiersbe’s “Be” series as number 2, then I have the NAC as my number 3, then Christ centered exposition commentary as my no 4, Now none of these are perfect commentaries and each have their strengths and weaknesses. John Phillips and Wiersbe’s are very much like expository sermons which are great for getting a feel for how another preacher might see the text and also a great place to find illustrations. The NAC is more in depth when it comes to language but is not exactly where I am when it comes to text and translation philosophy, but it provides great insights that are deeper than the first two. The fourth one can help you see how Jesus is tied into that passage if you want to make a beeline to the cross at the end of your sermon. Hope the helps some!

So I purchased the baptist Good version a while back, but they have changed their model recently to subscription based. I have loved the resources and the user interface for studying and sermon prep personally, but I know it’s quite an investment. Do you use it at all?
