I love Tanya's voice so much, and I love this song! Great combo for a cover! Tanya used to do gigs with the Pixies when she was a member of the Throwing Muses, and then went on to form the Breeders with Kim Deal of the Pixies.
This is so weird for whatever reason I thought of Belly and started watching a few of their videos and realised that they reminded me of The Pixies. I saw Belly live when they were supporting REM at Slane Castle in Ireland. From memory they had the best reaction from the crowd out of all the bands playing that day
Everyone loves to talk about how the music of the 80's sucked. They're partially right - the stuff that dominated radio stations and empty vee did indeed, suck - but if you were paying attention to college/alternative radio stations, you had the opportunity to hear some of the very best popular music ever recorded.
Even if she'd never done anything else she could rest on Belly/Star. One of those rarities containing 100% A side material at a time when an album meant one or two good songs amidst junk. I'm not gonna mention the porcelain voice or the pretty face.
Outside there's a box car waiting Outside the family stew Out by the fire breathing Outside we wait till face turns blue I know the nervous walking I know the dirty beard hangs Out by the box car waiting Take me away to nowhere plains There is a wait so long (So long, so long) You'll never wait so long Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Big shake on the box car moving Big shake to the land that's falling down Is a wind makes a palm stop blowing A big, big stone fall and break my crown There is a wait so long (So long, so long) You'll never wait so long Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man There is a wait so long (So long, so long) You'll never wait so long Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man Here comes your man

Unfortunately i don't own that specific single therefore i can't upload the video. Belly are releasing a B-sides/rarities compilation. Who knows the same will happen with Tanya's solo career.
True musicianship isn't bound to whether or not one writes one's own music. If you had your way, Bernstein would never have conducted the music of Mozart, or anyone not named Bernstein.
just remembered a crush I had like 25 years ago
I'm from Boston, and I'll always have a crush on her 4 ever.
Same!
Me too mate...
Same
Now i have it!
Beautiful cover of this song.
Don't forget that Tanya had a stint in the Breeders too!
She was an original member, in fact!
With Kim Deal after leaving The Pixies.
@@wjlintz Kim was still in the Pixies when she formed the Breeders
There were a couple of good Deals in the Breeders.
Kristen Hersh did a cover of the Pixies' "Wave Of Mutilation".
I've seen a hundred +shows and the 2 Belly shows I attended still rank as my favorite live band experiences.
Belly shows were so above and beyond.
I have to honestly say I did not think I was going to like her cover! WRONG=LOVED IT.....awesome lyrics and her great voice! Thanks for posting this!
She was a founding member of the pixies, not a cover, just like Kim deal doesn't get song credits.
Founding member of the Pixies? Sources, please. Perhaps you meant founding member of the Breeders?
I love Tanya's voice so much, and I love this song! Great combo for a cover!
Tanya used to do gigs with the Pixies when she was a member of the Throwing Muses, and then went on to form the Breeders with Kim Deal of the Pixies.
One of the most underrated female singers EVER! and still hot AF:)
My son was born to this song . . he has been cool ever since ,)

Tanya's old band Throwing Muses used to do gigs with the Pixies way back in the day.
@@Dulcimerist And subsequently formed The Breeders with Kim Deal from The Pixies. A great pedigree for alternative rock, and mostly with 4AD records.
@@kevintyerman1906 Yes - I love the Breeders as well! Kim's twin sister was also with the Breeders, so we got a two-for-one Deal with that!
I was there too was savage 🦖🇮🇪
Talented, gorgeous and fond memories growing up in the 80’s. Best era for indie bands. I miss the music and real ability.

Great to hear Tanya cover this Pixies classic. Throwing Muses were signed to 4AD right before The Pixies. They were the first American bands on 4AD.
I found out about both bands on the same radio station on the same night in the 1980s, and my musical taste hasn't been the same since.
they got the pixies in at 4ad
pixies opened for the muses when i first saw the pixies in 1987
Great cover, I love ❤️ Tanya
The drop D tuning on the riff is delicious.
Like her, her bands and the band she covered. The 90's, man.
Donelly, excelent musician
Any way you spell it...
Tanya is a very talented musician and a truly beautiful woman!❤️
Belly is awesome! Love this version!
I'll drink to this. This is nice, and does justice.
Two of my most favourite bands. Pixies and Belly. Can't say I've heard of this cover before? Relatively new or have I just missed it
Lovely cover, beautiful as well, she was one of my indie pop star crushes, one has to admit lol
Fascinated for this version.
AWESOMENESS never stops with Tanya
This was everything I needed
Meravigliosa Tanya! 🖤 Roberto from Italy 🇮🇹
LOVE THIS!!!
I like this take.....She's a part of the lineage in my book!
This feels like if The Adventures of Pete and Pete made more seasons.
Wonderful!
Great stuff

Amazing!
Love this song, great cover !
The vocal “layers?” Sooo good
Class! 💚
Making the Pixies sound like the Beach Boys
Frank did Hang on to Your Ego on his first solo album,I'd love to hear Tanya do it!
Love it!
Most excellent !
Fantastica!!! Roberto from Italy 🇮🇹
Cool cover!
Those backing vox--very Belly circa 1993!
Just love it!
Wow. Never heard this version. Awesome. Donelly is great, and underrated.
Beautiful
An honorable cover. Well done
Nice!
Boi she pulls this off grande🤘

Very under rated artist. She has Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame talent.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
She's had a spell on me for 30 years+.
tanyazinha partindo (ou dando alento ao) meu coração. again...! ;D
Her stepsister, Kristin Hersh, covered the Pixies' "Wave Of Mutilation".
This version sounds way cooler then the original. But I still love the original
Two thumbs up
Eduardo Fernandes Is there any way you can upload her B-side "Moon Over Boston" to UA-cam? There's a live version here but not the CD single version.
Unfortunately i don't own that specific single therefore i can't upload the video. Belly are releasing a B-sides/rarities compilation. Who knows the same will happen with Tanya's solo career.
@@freakscener Sounds great!
@@freakscener Belly had released a B-sides and rarities album called Sweet Ride quite some time ago. I like it. Are they coming out with another?
@@Dulcimerist yes they are. It's called "Bees". shop.runoutgroovevinyl.com/bees-color-vinyl-exclusive-limited-to-first-1000-orders-1.html
I had no clue she covered this.

Groovy version, Lacks some of the "snarl" of the original, that makes a few of the lyrics really stand out. But this is a really nice version. :)
🥰
And Muses
Tanya looks like what face would you imagine if you hear the name "Tanya"
Did she sing for the raincoats? To google!
No she didn’t but they sound so alike.
Do I hear Kim Deal's voice in the chorus?
no you don't. tanyadonelly.bandcamp.com/album/here-comes-your-man
I fell in love with this hottie!
Ah. I didnt know she was in Belly too.
Por que no? Ex Breeder's. Todo queda en familia.
totes be witched .. still
Her and Kim
Tanya, you aged we'll. Nice , cover
I love Kim deal but Tanya arguably did more vocally .
Pure pose...
Tanya and Liz Phair.
this cover makes me want to run away from my man
This cover is pretty good but it’s just one of those songs that will never be played or performed better than the original recording (by the pixies)
She aged well. Well done...
Is this song about hobos riding trains?
Yes. Then an earthquake strikes!
Ceso
The title is
"Here Comes Your Man" and the video is completely feminine. :)
Sux bad
Creepy thumbnail
ya not as good as pixies.
Hi krista,hope you’re okay ?
pixies was better
I hate covers! It's so sad that famous artist are covering almost anything !
