    Learning the clean from the top down has helped me IMMENSELY! Trying to learn the clean the way Rip teaches it was confusing and without coaching has been pretty difficult, but in your video "How to clean: What coaches aren't sharing" you break the movement down into its individual parts which you can drill and then combine. It makes so much more sense now and I've been making progress with my mobility and technique. Thanks Coach Giraffe!

    I spent about a decade powerlifting before I made the switch to weightlifting and have a hard time NOT keeping my shins vertical during squats. I'm hamstring dominate as a result (peach booty from side, chicken legs from the front 😣).
    Your "equal parts hips and knees" will definitely help me keep my quads activated during the lifts.

    front squats with pause at the bottom ( 3, 5, 10 secs) got me from power snatching and power cleaning, to proper snatches in less than 3 weeks, it's baffling how your body adapts to what you demand from it.

    Can someone explain how it’s even possible to power clean more than full clean in the first place? Power clean means you have to pull higher right? Full clean I have the luxury of catching it at the bottom so I don’t have to pull as high? Doesn’t that mean I can go heavier for full clean

    So i'm wondering if it's an error - my full clean technique is just no foot clean, I'm not moving my feet anywhere ( jumping i mean ). Is it bad or can I still train like that. I found really hard to fully extend on my lift and then drop down without jumping backwards or forwards.

    • @pouihurmen
      @pouihurmen 3 роки тому +2

      It isn’t. If you look at a lot of Chinese lifters and even Klokov to an extent they really just slightly shuffle their feet outwards or barely move them at all. Not saying that means everyone should copy them but it definitely isn’t an error for the average individual either. As long as you can extend and catch low, it’s fine.
