  • Deciduous forests are dominated by trees that shed their leaves each year. They are found in areas where there are warm, moist summer and cold winter. A variety of animals and plants are found here. The six types of major areas of this forest occur in the northern hemisphere; North America, East Asia, central and western Europe, Sweden ( southern side ), and Norway.
    Example of the trees found in these forests is oak, maple, basswood, beech, and elm. These forests receive heavy precipitation. If we talk about animals living here then we can name; Insects, spiders, slugs, frogs, turtles and salamanders are common. Other animals like hawks, cardinals, owls, and woodpeckers are also found in this biome and Mammals include white-tailed deer, raccoons, opossums, porcupines,black bears and red foxes.
