2011 dirk vs 2004 KG …this is probably both players at their absolute best…..KG has great regular season numbers but that playoff run by dirk was legendary there’s no way kg does the same with that Dallas team ….I’m guessing Kobe beats him in the second round or the thunder in the conf finals but they definitely don’t make it to face Lebron and them
I would say 2007 or 2008 Dirk was better. Obviously he didn’t make the finals those years but his offense was at an all time great level those years. His outside shooting, free throw rates and efficiency were off the charts. That’s also around when he became a better facilitator and the game really opened up. In 2011 he put it all together in the playoffs but he was already quite old by then and past his athletic prime. Finishing skills were slightly diminished as was his defense and transition scoring

i get it..90s is a tough period to play basketball..to say it is the toughest..i dare to disagree...players need to be physical inside back then since these forwards and centers cant even shoot 3s, even in the perimeter..they just only made it tough for themselves..but when the game changed in such a way it facilitates play for guards, slow big guys could hardly keep up..if anthony mason, oakley and other tough big guys played in this era, theyll be bench since they cant guard the perimeter. the physicality of a player is no longer the only criteria to play in the NBA...the era of bully ball had extinct since the game required more skilled players and shooters. the arrival of marksmen like Lillard, Curry, and Klay Thompson, not to name forwards and center who shoots 3s, has changed the landscape. players no longer clog the lane and big players are forced outside. game in this era will surely make it harder for those big bully players of the 90s. analysts keep on asking will the players of today be able to play in 90s? i dare ask, can the players of the 90s keep up with the marksmen of these era?
