Obvious miss as noted by other is Tony Allen for the grizzlies. I also think a big miss is Walt Frazier for the Knicks as many consider him one of the top two or three defensive point guards of all time. I would also take Jordan over Pippen as cliche as it is but Jordan is the best shot blocking guard of all time and also could lock down anyone on the perimeter. Would give Wade over LeBron and Paul over Kawhi just because of longevity with the team (would still give Kawhi the Raptors spot though because he is the only Raptor in history to make an all defensive team). I would give Derek Harper the Mavs spot as Bradley really just had one year where he was blocking shots and Harper was a solid defender. I would give Doug Christie the Kings spot as he had tough defensive assignments during his time in Sacramento and think he was all defense every year. Finally it’s a toss up for me on the Lakers but Michael Cooper was a monster in the 80s on defense and even though Kareem wasn’t having his best defensive days for much of his time with the lakers he was still pretty great.

in all fairness the blocks are down not because there aren't good shot blockers anymore, it's because there are a lot less contested low post shoots. If a tall defensive swatter is ready around the hoop teams won't drive to the basket and instead attempt a mid-range jumper or a 3, most blocks are recovery blocks if you get beat or perimeter blocks because you time a jumper perfectly people don't try low post shots if there's a deadly blocker around.
I think you are giving too much weight to steals when we are talking about greatest defenders, John only lead the league in steals twice, he played 20 years so he has a lot, Magic also lead the league twice and AI did it 3 times, I don't consider either of them good defenders

I would have to say Mark Eaton is a better defender than Gobert. Because Gobert’s defense is primarily based off his ability to block/alter shots, and Mark’s ability to do so was 2-3 fold, and on top of that, being 7’ 4” and north of 275 pounds, just the size and intimidation he brings over Gobert is why I believe he is the better Jazz defender.

Good list but I hard disagree with LeBron being the Heat's best defensive player of all time. Alonzo Mourning had a larger impact on the game and did so with the Heat for longer than LeBron did. He also won DPOY twice. . .and did it in back to back seasons. Absolutely, clearly Alonzo Mourning was the best defender of the Heat in their history. LeBron is better offensively and a better overall player obviously, but absolutely not a better defender. I also really still don't agree that LeBron can "guard all five positions well". . .he can't guard talented centers. He has never done so that I have seen unless it was a double team or a rush in help defense from the blind side. I've also never seen him guard talented post-playing power forwards either. I have seen him guard 1-3 and stretch 4's (i.e. not traditional 4's), and maybe briefly guard some garbage 5's, but it's really stretching the truth to say he can guard all 5 positions really well imo. Likewise, Paul George cannot guard traditional power forwards. Only the smaller, slender, stretch 4 type guys that play today. . .who are basically just slower, taller SFs with a bit better post game than the typical SF. Do you think Paul George and LeBron would be able to guard, say, Zach Randolf? Pau Gasol? Karl Malone? Tim Duncan? Etc? Of course not. They would get completely trashed. Do you think LeBron could guard prime Shaq? David Robinson? Hakeem Olajuwon? Kareem? Moses Malone? Etc? Of course not. He would get demolished over and over again.
