3 albums mid-60's and groundbreaking. Try 'Crossroads' or 'sunshine of your love' or 'Tales of Brave Ulysses'. Jack Bruce a genius on bass, Ginger Baker on Drums, truly one of the greats and Clapton on guitar. This was LIVE an no autotune or back-up musicians.
"Americana"?! "Rockabilly"?! Late-mid 60s British psychedelic blues-rock, this one co-written by guitarist Eric Clapton and his pal, Beatle George Harrison. Clapton was reading the paper with the lyrics upside-down and asked "when do we get to the 'badge' part?" George told him "that's the bridge". The bridge, with that descending notes underpinning the chords and leading into the solo is where the show really took off for me when I saw Eric in '74 or '75 on his '461 Ocean Boulevard' tour, me on a couple of white clinical blotters (LSD soaked into paper). Great, hugely influential band, and individual players. Rest In Peace bassist/vocalist/songwriter extraordinaire Jack Bruce and drummer/cantankerous SOB Ginger Baker. 🤟🏼😉🎶❤️🍁❤️✨️🕊
Eric had written part of the music, George helped him finish it and also wrote the lyrics. Ringo contributed the line: 'bout the swans that they live in the park.
@@keensoundguy6637And this according to George Harrison: “We were working across from each other and I was writing the lyrics down and we came to the middle part so I wrote 'Bridge.' Eric read it upside down and cracked up laughing - 'What's BADGE?' he said.” And thus a very enigmatic title was born. I sure as hell wondered about it in ’69.
it is blues rock, comprised of Jack Bruce a scot lad and Ginger Baker one of the great drummers of all time and the irreplaceable Eric Clapton, they were populat from 65 to 68, they broke up in 68 their last album hity in 69. Eric would go on working with George Harrison and the Beatles, then put together Blind Faith with the incredible Steve Winwood and then Derrick and the Dominos perhaps as great as cream. He would later move to Tulsa Ok and work with J.J. Cale and be a part of the Tulsa sound. One of my favorite songs was living on Tulsa Time and his cover of I shot the Sheriff, and after Midnight. Eric is a three time inductee into the Rock n roll hall of fame, with Cream, Derrick and the Dominos and on his own. Such magnificent covers such as I can change the world, and Knocking on Heavens door, not to mention Blues Great Robert Johnsons at the crossroads. Eric was the reaspn I picked up the guitar and Why I play. Heaven knows when he passes we will all cry hearing Tears in heaven for a talent such as his is truly once in a generation. To combine that with the incredible Jack bruce on bass and though a rascal, one of the greatest Jazz turned blues rock drummer Ginger Baker. just music that sounds like the taste of peerfect honey. RIP Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker.
Great reaction, Maddy! Great, all time rockers from my youth. Music like this started me on a life long enjoyment of rock and rock music. Cream was one of the original super groups
This was their reunion tour they hadn't played together in over 20 years and that was the last time they played together cream was a supergroup back in the sixties with only three members Jack Bruce Eric Clapton Ginger Baker so they're probably in their 60s during this concert
They're famous. Maybe the first super group. Clapton of course. Late 60's. Introduced America to long jams at their concerts. I saw them in West Virginia. Three virtuosos.
This reunion was great, they still had much mojo almost 40 years after their brief super nova career in the late 60s. Still one of the great bands, hear them in their prime and feel the fire they had back then. Do Crossroads live 1968 and hear them roaring at their peak, enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
You mentioned Americana Sound? Eric Clapton guitar, Ginger Baker drums are from England. Jack Bruce bass was from Scotland. But, American music influenced most of the music that came out of the UK in the 60s. Cream was only around from 1966 to 1968. They only released 4 albums, but were a hugely influential band. This performance was from their reunion tour in 2005.
Cream, Pioneers of rock, classic. Eric Clapton lead singer, still makes music today, yes they are old, group started 1966. Songs: White Room, Sunshine of Your Love, Crossroads top played songs.
Cream. Cream Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker were British. Cream was together from 1966 to 1969. This video was from a reunion at Royal Albert Hall in 2005. The bass player Jack Bruce passed away in 2014 and drummer Ginger Baker passed in 2019, leaving Clapton still alive. This song was written by former Beattle George Harrison. Harrison and Clapton had a unique relationship. They both were married to Patty Boyd who was the inspiration for three classic songs, "Something" by Harrison and "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight" by Clapton. All three songs worth a reaction video.
This is considered classic hard rock but they are all British and Cream was certainly a British based band. Late 60's was when they were in their prime. The reason they probably sound vaguely American is that Eric Clapton (the singer) was heavily influenced by black blues music of the American south.
Cream is considered the 1st Rock Super Group. They released 4 albums from 1966 to 1969. Like most Supergoups, it's a group of ego driven alphas. Few even get 2 albums out before they break up. 😊
Three of the greatest British musicians. This was their farewell concert in the Royal Albert Hall London about 60 years after they broke up !!!! “Crazy Ginger Baker drums, Jack Bruce bass and the legendary Eric Clapton guitar and vocals. They had so many major falling outs during their career the band didn’t last long but the music they left is amongst the best ever recorded. Soon after this concert both Baker and Baker died. Tickets to this concert were like gold dust. I tried and this was pre Ticketmaster ( scum ball firm )
Back in 2005 when these London Royal Albert Hall concerts were being advertised in the UK press I got an offer of a £50 ticket for a seat behind the main stage which I turned down. I saw Jack Bruce, the bass player and leading composer of Cream, twice close up face to face at the Cambridge Corn Exchange and he did not disappoint a few years before he died. Jack had a liver transplant at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge before this concert but his performances with Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton were magnificent.
So many guitarists like Eddie Van Halen grew up playing along with Cream records with Eric Clapton on guitar - but this reunion concert was 36 years after the group broke up. Try "Crossroads" from the Wheels of Fire album.
The original power trio, Eric Clapton on guitar and vocals, Jack Bruce on bass ( he also sang on other songs )and Ginger Baker on drums. Sunshine of Your Love next by them. They were originally around from 1966-68…? This song was written by George Harrison ( from the Beatles )
One of the first, original supergroups. Old Slowhand himself, Eric Clapton, Jack "Thunderfingers" Bruck, and The Terrible Mr (Ginger) Baker. When you ask legendary musicians who inspired them, these 3 guys are who get mentioned near the top of the list. Each individually were considered amongst the best in the world at that time, but when they came together it was magic. Very rarely can a 3 piece band fill out the sound like they could. This video was a reunion they did...they were only active for 2 years before Jack left the group in 1968, probably because Ginger was driving him nuts (legend has it that in 2014 a few hours before he died, Jack called Ginger to say "I'm dying, Ginger, Fuck You" and then hung up on him). Clapton's voice has only gotten better as he's gotten older, but Jack Bruce was a powerful vocalist in his own right.
Cream was part of the early British Invasion musically right after The Beatles in the mid to late 60s. I bought the album from these live shows but this song "Badge" wasn't included on the album. The other song videos are longer and you can see the audience more but this is one of my favorite songs by Cream even though the original release was only 2 minutes 45 seconds long. This is the whole song even though the video cut off abruptly. I love Jack Bruce (RIP) on bass, Ginger Baker (RIP) on drums and of course Eric Clapton on guitar and vocals.
Cream was considered a 'Super band' because of the top-tier musicians that made up the group. When you get egos of this caliper together, the bands don't last for long.
Darlin, you have no idea what you have found here. Cream was Ginger Baker on drums, Jack Bruce on bass and Eric Clapton on guitar. They were the 1st Super Group. All 3 were the best Europe had to offer on their instruments. They hit the streets of America in 1966 and nothing has been the same since. They paved the way for rock n roll jams that went on for many minutes and talent that had never been heard before. If you wanna hear exactly how good these guys were at the very best, check out their album "Wheels of Fire" - - song you want is "Spoonful" Get past the lyrics in the beginning and buckle up for 10 minutes of some of the best guitar, bass and drums you'll ever hear. In the 80s I was in my kitchen while my wife was watching some show. All of a sudden a song started and some guy was using cardboard boxes for drums. I listened a moment and said to myself - holy crap - that sounds like Ginger Baker, I flew into the living room and here's Ginger Baker playing cardboard boxes as a drum kit. He had a rhythm and style that was unique and one of a kind. Listen to "Spoonful" - you won't be sorry and it will prolly put your chin on your chest.
I agree as well. You’re not going to see the true 60s spirit that was infused in those original concerts here in this reunion. This is an amazing video but shows the band 30 or 40 years later.
JACK BRUCE = On BASS GUITAR (EXCELLENT !) & GINGER BAKER on DRUMS (ALSO EXCELLENT) & THEE GREAT ERIC CLAPTON ON LEAD & RY THEM GUITAR = LITERALLY PHENOMENAL !!! All were killer and HUGE SOUND !
Great reaction Maddy. Only three official albums. Cream was the first super group. Eric is the only one left. Appreciate them while we have some of them still with us. 💕💕🙏🙏
THIS BAND WAS ALL BRITISH BORN AND RAISED PLAYERS .... lobed American Blues men and Rock and Roll from 1950s and up ..... Came around the American top chart scene in the 1960s ..... Jack sang as well .... Eric was a good singer - as in here - They made many albums (Vinyl discs then) ...... so rock-a-billy is merely one of the many styles and genres they were influenced by ! Try their song = CROSSROADS ! Two lead guitar solos and Jack ripping on the Bass ! Incredible. GBjj
They only had a short run as a band. Jack and Ginger got along fabulously as long as they were on stage. Once they left the stage they were like fire and gasoline and Eric just didn't want to deal with any of it so they only lasted a couple of years during their initial run. What we're watching here is a one-off reunion performance and brings a more seasoned approach to their earlier work. Of course we probably shouldn't speak badly of neither Jack nor Ginger since they're both gone now. They just couldn't seem to get along nor could they stay away from each other as they played in several bands together over the years. None of those bands lasted long with them in their line-up but the music they made with the two of them driving things was usually amazing.
Cream formed I think in 1966 - that's when the first album was released - and they broke up in 1968. Four albums and then a lot of Live Cream stuff. Eric Clapton with the great pipes although he was far more reknowned as a guitarist. Jack Bruce the bass player did most of the heavy lifting on vocals. This was a 2005 reunion concert
I know this doesn't mean much coming in cold, but they truly were the first universally acknowledged *supergroup*. Lots of rock-radio hits, a few pop ones like this song. 1968 was their high-water mark. Maybe their most accessible hit is "White Room". Listen to the original vinyl of that, not the live reunion videos (like this one). In fact, always start with the original recording from now on.
When you said, "abruptly ends" I remembered that's how I felt when I heard Cream's "Goodbye" album, which had "Badge" on it. No more Cream! It was good to see them together again.
I was 9 when this came out in 1969...Cream was an amazing supergroup, unfortunately that didn't stay together, maybe 3 or 4 albums, 66-69 I think. This was a reunion in 2005 after not playing together since. Three of the members have since passed, Eric Clapton the guitarist is still with us at 80.
You know Cream was a British Band & the song was by George Harrison another Britt. No Americana here. Just Cream from mid sixties & George harrison of the Beatles, both early British legends. This was a live concert decades later for 3 nights at Albert Hall. This 3 night gig reunited Cream for a big payday .
Great Reaction, but unfortunately was the wrong 'Uploader'!? -Right Clip&version, but This isn't the Official Cream/Eric Clapton upload of it! As it's been cut in half..(that's Eric Clapton singing on lead guitar!), with Ginger Baker Drums and Jack Bruce on Fretless Bass Guitar!! This is the BEST 3 CONCERTS they ever played! This was 2005 "Cream" Reunion Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London and was the FIRST and ONLY time they got back together as a Band before Jack Bruce on Bass Died and more recently Ginger Baker on Drums! They were old(& VERY ill BUT AT THEIR BEST!) They hadn't played together as a band for 35years BEFORE these handful of concerts at Royal Albert Hall! (Although this wasn't the FULL SONG! This can't be the Official Video as it's cut off the End!) Please check out the full song, same version but different Uploader! Will be Under ERIC CLAPTON or Cream on YT I'd imagine... You have to check out their other songs from The reunion Concert/s as They were SUBLIME! "Cocaine", "White Room", Crossroads", "Toad" are ALL FANTASTIC! SORRY for the essay but they are One of the GREATEST Rock & Blues Bands of All time (Their Hayday as a group was the 60s! split up in 1969 just before Hendrix died and and Only got together this one time in 2005 for this Concert before two of the three VIRTUOSOS passed away..) Cheers Maddie! 👍🏻❤️😎🏴🇬🇧
@@AB-C1 they were not at their best Dull, lifeless performances on nearly every part of every song. The real Cream experience was in the 60s. This is a nostalgia trip and a cash grab
@@BenWillyumsUTTER rubbish.. I Grew up listening to this music My old man used to watch Cream and Clapton Yard Birds and alike every Friday and Saturday Night in the Clubs in London in the 60s and I grew up with listening to this in the 70s/80s from LPs to Singles to 78s and Live performances, Video, Radio, Cassettes even original recorded performances my old man made in 60s! He had Cases full of cassettes and A whole side board cupboard full of IMMACULATE 1st edition Vinyls etc.. When they did these concerts in 2005 I couldn't get tickets same as Claptons 24 Nights (Blues) at Royal Albert Hall in Early 90s! So you're telling me they ALL peaked in 1969 at 20-25 years old!? 🤣😂 Yeah ok fella! 🙄🤦🏻🏴🇬🇧
@@BenWillyums You're absolutely correct. All the notes are in the right place but that's about it. Jack and Ginger were still doing good work when this dropped but Clapton has been shit since about 1975.
Gotta agree with @BenWillyums here. Maddie, listen to the original Cream studio version of Badge. You may like Clapton’s old voice but young Jack Bruce was far superior. And Ginger Baker was much better in his youth. From the album Disraeli Gears, the third album I bought in my life, SWLABR is so wildly Cream, and World of Pain was written by Gail Collins, the wife of Cream producer Felix Pappalardi, which is interesting because Gail Collins shot and killed Pappalardi.
The studio version of the song "Spoonful" from their debut album 'Fresh Cream' is a great song of theirs. If you like it then you can explore the same title song from one of their live albums (from the 60s). which is usyally a much more stretched out version.
The first Super Band. "Eric is God" was said arounmd the world. Eric Clapton. Check out his live videos. These are rock icons. Two of them are deceased. They are all from the UK....Great Britain and Scotland.
Blue's in 'A' by Clapton 💙💙👍 Everyone had his poster Clapton Is GOD Written in Graffiti with a dog 🐕 😂. Slow Hand great album..... Legendary 🤔 Enjoy your Adventures Take Care and Stay Safe 🙏✌️❤️
Yeah, like a lot of others have been saying, you definitely want Cream from the 60's when they were happening, especially live stuff. The sound quality isn't there like it is for this nostalgia cash-grab show, but what made them Cream absolutely was. Three young guys who still mostly got along and were still hungry to make their mark on the world. You know, rock and roll This could have been a good cover band and you'd have gotten the same experience. Eric Clapton in particular hasn't been worth crap since the 70s. To be sure, he still plays all of the correct notes but it's still more like off-brand vanilla ice cream. 1976's "Slowhand" probably being his peak. Great song, though, and there's always something EMOTIONALLY rewarding when dinosaurs reunite after decades apart.
I always heard that the name of this song came from the chord progression. B chord, A chord, D chord, etc. . . I don't know anything about chord progression or if it's true, but it sounds cool.
So sorry about the Americana, but they're an all British band and the song is by Beatle George Harrison. Jack Bruce, the bassist came up with the opening bass riff and a classic was born! Eric Clapton on guitar and Ginger Baker on drums. They had a fairly short lifespan.
Only Eric left now this was a great band whose output is exceptional given the short time period they were active yes they were the cream of London with the luxury of hindsight I'm struck at the similarity with nirvana also a three-piece mostly with output and sound
This was the Cream Reunion Concert Royal Albert Hall (UK) 2005. There is a corresponding 1968 Farewell concert at the same venue. Here's Sunshine Of Your Love, which was in the same era as Badge, White Room ua-cam.com/video/xIk8HwKh4ac/v-deo.html
For something completely different. Jazz. Look up the Ginger Baker Trio. Three outstanding musicians, Bill Frisell (g), Charlie Haden (b), Ginger Baker (d).
You should find a better clip of this song. This one does not do justice to the Clapton, Bruce, Baker trio. All legends in their own right. It's blues rock. Cream was formed by these guys in 1966
Yes Maddy (and all reactors), no more live reunion videos, no matter how much your top patreons beg you to react. ONLY the original recordings 1st, then maybe other versions. It's the original recordings that made them famous.
Very Americana - Maddy ?? This was uncharted territory back in 1969. Cream-Two Englishman and a Scot playing the Royal Albert (Queen Victoria's hubby) Hall in London. I'll share what's meant to be a good natured jibe from John Cleese of Monty Python. When asked the difference between living in the USA compared to the UK. "Well one thing I notice in England when we have a World Championship we tend to invite other countries".
The song does NOT end like that!!! I was as shocked as you when it abruptly ended. Oh what a crime to cut it. That's maiming a work of art. Find a copy with the ending. Peace!😊
Cream was only together for two years. After the split Eric Clapton formed the "super group" called Blind Faith. They added Steve Winwood to their lineup. Take care...
Cream is a iconic legendary Rock band from England from the '60s. Not rockabilly Rock LOL. Cream was the hottest band in the '60s. Eric Clapton has the title of one of the greatest guitarist of all time of rock.
Is 1/3 of a cup of cream really Cream? Or, 1/5, since George (yes, THAT George!) & Felix Pappalardi also played on the studio recording... Nonetheless, Clapton plays a mean guitar here, as usual! Thanx Maddy!!!
Americana? Cream were one of the greatest British blues/rock bands ever. Eric Clapton on vocals and of course, guitar here was not the main vocalist in the band, that was Jack Bruce, the bass guitarist. And of course we have to mention Ginger Baker, one of the greatest drummers ever. Sadly only Eric Clapton is still with us. R.I.P Jack and Ginger. 😊😎🎸🇺🇦🇬🇧
One of the truly great supergroups with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker on drums and Jack Bruce on bass. They are British and had only four albums. Your knowledge of rock and blues is incomplete if you don't know Eric Clapton.
This is arguably Cream's best song, album version, official video for "White Room." They had two singers, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton who is a guitar god also. Ginger Baker is the incredible drummer. ua-cam.com/video/cCJFDyTO_Ao/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

It's always been one of my very favorite Cream/Clapton songs. Just an iconic song. Always will be. . .
just so you know. The crowd expected that pause. That riff is probably the most famous in all rock. They knew what was coming and began applauding

As others have mentioned, there's an entourage of outstanding British rock musicians/bands of the late 60s era.

The 45rpm mono record from 1968 is the best sounding version imo.

Incredible. GBjj
Clapton goes into a version of the Here Comes the Sun guitar solo.
Maddy… they’re one of the premiere power trios & Cream is a Rock band.
One of a number if bands featuring Eric Clapton.
❤ Cream , Disreali Gears is my favorite album. Favorite song too 👍
I know this doesn't mean much coming in cold, but they truly were the first universally acknowledged *supergroup*.
The first supergroup.
❤these guys were "it" when I was a teen! 😍🌼💕Still sound great!
🎉🎉🎉
SORRY for the essay but they are One of the GREATEST Rock & Blues Bands of All time (Their Hayday as a group was the 60s! split up in 1969 just before Hendrix died and and Only got together this one time in 2005 for this Concert before two of the three VIRTUOSOS passed away..)
Cheers Maddie!
Famous 60s band
The first Super Band. "Eric is God" was said arounmd the world. Eric Clapton. Check out his live videos. These are rock icons. Two of them are deceased. They are all from the UK....Great Britain and Scotland.
Blue's in 'A' by Clapton 💙💙👍
Everyone had his poster
Clapton
Is
GOD
Written in Graffiti with a dog 🐕 😂. Slow Hand great album..... Legendary 🤔
Enjoy your Adventures
Take Care and Stay Safe 🙏✌️❤️
And then "Green is God" When Peter Green replaced him in JMBB
You have some very savvy musical fans maddy.😎
Yeah, like a lot of others have been saying, you definitely want Cream from the 60's when they were happening, especially live stuff. The sound quality isn't there like it is for this nostalgia cash-grab show, but what made them Cream absolutely was. Three young guys who still mostly got along and were still hungry to make their mark on the world. You know, rock and roll
This could have been a good cover band and you'd have gotten the same experience.
Only one guy left. The original 3 man super group, even though they weren’t together long.
Sacrilegious for Clapton to play this song (or any Cream song for that matter) on a Fender guitar. You need that Les Paul or SG for the tone, baby!
Cream has a few great songs. Listen to more. Lovely Maddy.
This is when they were all elderly. I would recommend watching a video of them from the sixties.
They are English the first Super group , they influenced so many others .
Jack Bruce was Scottish NOT English.
The original stufio version had the magic.
An English trio, so the Americana notion may be a stretch. Saw them in appx 1970 in Indianapolis. Not surprising, a very memorable show!
That "Sir", is the great Mr. Eric Clapton. One of the finest blues and rock guitarists of all time.
So sorry about the Americana, but they're an all British band and the song is by Beatle George Harrison.
Jack Bruce, the bassist came up with the opening bass riff and a classic was born!
Eric Clapton on guitar and Ginger Baker on drums. They had a fairly short lifespan.
Studio take is very haunting.
Only Eric left now this was a great band whose output is exceptional given the short time period they were active yes they were the cream of London with the luxury of hindsight I'm struck at the similarity with nirvana also a three-piece mostly with output and sound
Hard to believe Eric Clapton did this song, and also did Tears in Heaven?
This was the Cream Reunion Concert Royal Albert Hall (UK) 2005. There is a corresponding 1968 Farewell concert at the same venue. Here's Sunshine Of Your Love, which was in the same era as Badge, White Room ua-cam.com/video/xIk8HwKh4ac/v-deo.html
I'm too taken with watching Maddie to even hear the music.

The group Fanny did a great version of this song!
I kinda dig Cream! Fun reaction
Peace!😊

Great song and love your reactions, hope you're having a wonderful weekend and new sub.
Song co- written by George Harrison .
Cream was only together for two years. After the split Eric Clapton formed the "super group" called Blind Faith. They added Steve Winwood to their lineup. Take care...
This IS the old stuff. 1968 or so. Jack Bruce (bassist, RIP) was the other voice of Cream--super singer, too.ua-cam.com/video/Zkosrxtu9zY/v-deo.html
Here's an example of Jack on vocals. "White Room." Their goodbye as a band in 1968. ua-cam.com/video/gXUHb_l-1HU/v-deo.html
Cream is a iconic legendary Rock band from England from the '60s. Not rockabilly Rock LOL. Cream was the hottest band in the '60s. Eric Clapton has the title of one of the greatest guitarist of all time of rock.
Two words, Rainbow Concert
Is 1/3 of a cup of cream really Cream? Or, 1/5, since George (yes, THAT George!) & Felix Pappalardi also played on the studio recording...
Nonetheless, Clapton plays a mean guitar here, as usual!
Thanx Maddy!!!
Jack Bruce was one of the best bass players ever.
Im a big fan of theirs since the start. The studio version is much better.
😊😎🎸🇺🇦🇬🇧
Yup, were old. We stop when it's time to stop. It's more fun that way. lol
One of the truly great supergroups with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker on drums and Jack Bruce on bass. They are British and had only four albums. Your knowledge of rock and blues is incomplete if you don't know Eric Clapton.
'66-'68 and then they broke up. Eric Clapton went on to start Blind Faith with Steve Winwood.
It is considered psychedelic rock
written by George and Eric.
I am sure it's mentioned here, but George Harrison co wrote this EC.
not bad for a group of 80 year old Brits!
Maddy, give a listen to HEY SOUL SISTER by Train. Think you'll like.
This is arguably Cream's best song, album version, official video for "White Room." They had two singers, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton who is a guitar god also. Ginger Baker is the incredible drummer.

Better version of "Badge" EC's solo band: ua-cam.com/video/IiY3jH4yr6U/v-deo.html
Man, you have a lot to learn. You missed a history lesson here!
