A great underrated Night Ranger song that is hardly played anymore is actually a ballad: "Goodbye" which was released in 1985. This song is one of my favorites from Night Ranger and I hope you guys listen to it soon. Good reaction!!!
Night Ranger is one of my favorite bands. You can Still Rock in America is a banger. They also have excellent some what mellower songs like When you Close your Eyes. Sentimental Street, Four in the Morning and Goodbye. Their guitarists are great and some of my favorite guitar solos (even in their softer songs) are from them.
When You Close Your Eyes, Goodbye, 4 in the Morning, and Sing Me Away are great Night Ranger Songs. Loved this group, wore out many cassettes in college of this band...also Sentimental Street.
My favorite Night Ranger song. The guitar solo was incredible, and the ending guitar melody was insane. One of the guitar players, Brad Gillis, took over when Randy Rhoads died, and toured with Ozzy. They actually made a live album from that tour. Love your reactions.
My favorite band ever! They are one of the most rocking bands in concert....even better today than back in the 80s...and Asia...don't let this song stop you from continuing to tell everyone you love them though!!!
tell you what what Gillis does in this solo is unlike any other solo you will ever hear what he does with the tremolo bar is unreal, he flicks it and its bouncing sounds like uber fast reverb or tremolo.. one of the top rock guitar solos ever for me.. great song, great band
Looking back the 80s were a cool time to be a teenager, unlike today with all the confusion, drugs depression,I wish my grandchildren could experience that vibe of the 1980s !
I never gave this song enough credit when I was a teen, I thought it wasn’t hard enough rock but now that I’m much older I realize that the guitar was awesome!
As part of the Carowinds Paladium Stage Crew, I was picked to guard Night Ranger's dressing room door after a show where they had invited about 80 ladies backstage for an aftershow meet and greet. That was a wild hour and a half.
Great band❤... Back in the 1990s I was lucky enough to be playing guitar in a band that opened the show for these guys and all I can say was they took us in and treated us like family... bunch of great guys !
Wife here..Soooo Coool U2!!..Everyone reacts to there monster hit.. "Sister Christian"..I personally Loooove this one!!.."In the car arguing"..😂U2 are the Best!!...I really do Loooove this paticular OG "Hair/Glam Rock Band!!❤..."Phenomenal Shredding!!!🤘🤘..Yesssss
Brad Gillis is one good guitarist. Played with Ozzy right after Randy died. Should check out some Sabbath songs from Ozzy 's Speak of Devil live album, he does a good job.
BJ, you described the scene almost perfectly with this song and my wife and I (she was my love interest at the time). The only difference was we were in a bar and the bar band was playing this song…
Blew Off Every Sold Out Arena!!! Several MONSTER Hits! Go Ahead And Skip (I Double Dare Ya) "Sister Christian" - And Hit Their Gold Smash Hits!! "Sing Me Away" "Goodbye" "Sentimental Street" Night Ranger Is Definitely A Top 10 Super Group!
They had 2 of the best guitarists ever in my opinion. Gillis & Watson switching off on that lead...just awesome ! One of the most underrated bands of their era and STILL rockin"! There were a lot of great co - lead guitarists bands in the 80's. Night Ranger, Ratt, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Queensryche. BUT...if you haven't given them a listen...check out one of my favorite guitarists of all time George Lynch of Dokken. I loved him because his sound was totally unique...no one else sounded like him. They have a lot of great songs...but one of my favorites is "The Hunter ". Also check out Lynch's cover of Jimi Hendrix "Voodoo Child"
To me, this song is someone saying he likes being with her, but he's not looking for anything serious. But this one and their song "Goodbye" are my favorite Night Ranger songs ❤️ I think you'll like the crying 😢 guitar in "Goodbye", BJ! As you'd probably guess, It's a melancholy song, and while most think of it in a romantic way, it happens to remind me of someone I lost who passed away. All these years later, the song "Goodbye" still hits me. ❤️
This was on my "playlist (i.e. mix tape) and if I was pulling up in the driveway, I just couldn't get out of the car. I'd crank it up and let my brain bleed. What a song !!! There were 2 lead guitarists on this one.
I always wondered why Jeff Watson left the band. I’m guessing it’s the usual reasons of creative freedom or creative differences, but he was really good, and I’m guessing every other guitarist is since him has felt overshadowed by Brad Gillis, who’s amazing by the way, but hey, it’s a band, we’re all on the same team:)
Yeah man. Brings me joy watching first takes on a killer song! New subscriber. Dig it! Two killer guitarists. Brad (of Ozzy fame) first, then Jeff, then dual solo at end. Glad you dug it. Check out 'Burning for You' Blue Oyster Cult. Same sort of All Killer (intro, verse, bridge, chorus) as Don't Tell Me... best Night Ranger song ever IMHO as a fan in my teens, who loves hooky bangers. Great live band. Jack Blades (bassist, singer here) is a showman!
Great song but a truly overlooked band is Tora Tora and the name of the song is "Walking shoes!" Be the first reactors on the block to play it. It's the bomb 💣!
Saw these guys in high school then again about three years ago. They still sound the same. A few different people but sounded as good as they did in the 80s. Touch of madness is my favorite song from them
I remember when this came out in 83 and the video on MTV. Brad Gillis just left Ozzy Osbourne did the live album speak of the devil and left. It was his plan get noticed then go back to his band, Night Ranger. As he said in Circus magazine in his own words he was,"Metaled out!" Too much pressure to fill the shoes of Randy Rhoads.
Jack Blades, lead singer and bass- formed Damn Yankees after this with Tommy Shaw from Styx and Ted Nugent. Definitely check them out- live only as Ted Nugent has to be seen 👀 - with his screaming Detroit guitar…. ❤️🎶❤️
I was reading the chats and one person commented that this song was released in May 1989. That's WAY off. I remember this song and seeing the video on MTV (when it was a music channel). it was actually released in 1982. Absolute great song! And the guitar solo is choice!
Fun aftermath: Jack Blades, the singer/bassist on this tune joined Tommy Shaw and Ted Nugent to form the super-group Damn Yankees, whom you have reacted to. To complete the Blades trifecta, you might consider looking into the post-Yankees team-up of Tommy and Jack called Shaw-Blades. Well worth it So many different moods, just a couple of acoustic guitars and smaller crowds. Worth a peep, you'll see.
Wait.... I don't see any reaction videos from you to DAMN YANKEES??? o m g So --- "Come Again" and "High Enough", by Damn Yankees ---- Starring Ted Nugent, Tommy Shaw of STYX and Jack Blades of Nightranger.
Great song for driving hard down life's highway. High energy. Ridiculous guitar riff and solo. And the message is on point. Maybe next we could listen to Loverboy play, HOT GIRLS IN LOVE. Enjoy
A Marine ROTC guy in college used to kill me for liking Night Ranger, lol. Hearing this probably for the first time since then - ''85 to '89 - and man it rocks. I guess the lyrics are a bit "soft" but the guitar and the rest of the music is incredible.
Rock was so up beat back in the 80s, everyone was positive ,it was a different world ,thanks to MTV playing videos nonstop 24 /7 now all they play is ridiculousness.
Night Ranger is criminally underrated.
Yep…PHENOMENAL musicianship! Remember seeing them on Star Search and KNEW I was going enjoy this band. 👍
A great underrated Night Ranger song that is hardly played anymore is actually a ballad: "Goodbye" which was released in 1985. This song is one of my favorites from Night Ranger and I hope you guys listen to it soon. Good reaction!!!
Yeah, Goodbye and 4 in the Morning are 2 of my favorites
Goodbye is an awesome song. Never got much airplay so I’d bet there are plenty out there who’ve never even heard. Beautiful sad song
Very good song! 👍
Definitely got to do Goodbye, and touch of madness
Spot on
The smell of hairspray is strong with this one. This metal head gives it props for the guitar solo 🤘Way to go Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson.
😂 The air is thick with Aqua Net!!! 😂
Both great guitarist. For my money though, Gillis is soooo vastly overlooked as one of the real talents from that era.
@@timpafundi6321 Aqua Net Pink for the super duper hold!!! That was my goto back in the 80's when I was in bands.😂😂
@@IisDeeps Nothing like filling in to Ozzy's band after Randy's death to say you are a serious player...
Love me some Night Ranger! They have a lot of great songs ❤
When You Close Your Eyes, Goodbye, 4 in the Morning, and Sing Me Away are great Night Ranger Songs. Loved this group, wore out many cassettes in college of this band...also Sentimental Street.
" Four in the morning" is really good. This band was very good, and still good.
My favorite Night Ranger song. The guitar solo was incredible, and the ending guitar melody was insane. One of the guitar players, Brad Gillis, took over when Randy Rhoads died, and toured with Ozzy. They actually made a live album from that tour. Love your reactions.
Long time no watch but I happened to see this and I love Night Ranger and this is the jam 🔥🔥🔥🔥
My favorite band ever! They are one of the most rocking bands in concert....even better today than back in the 80s...and Asia...don't let this song stop you from continuing to tell everyone you love them though!!!
I saw them last year and they were awesome! Saw jack with damn Yankees and that was the best concert ever.
great reaction! So many great songs by Night Ranger, just a band of talented musicians!
Some nasty solos by Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson!
Their song, "Sing Me Away" is their best, IMO.
One of the two lead guitarist, Brad Gillis filled in for Ozzy Osbourne (on a concert tour) when his guitarist Randy Rhodes died tragically.
tell you what what Gillis does in this solo is unlike any other solo you will ever hear what he does with the tremolo bar is unreal, he flicks it and its bouncing sounds like uber fast reverb or tremolo..
one of the top rock guitar solos ever for me.. great song, great band
The dueling guitars is the one thing I love the most about this song
Classic 80s! This song Is the great representation of the amazing 1980s guitar play that was common in music then.
The twin guitar attack of Jeff Watson and Brad Gillis.
Night Ranger has a stupendous catalog that you guys would be amazed by . . . . and they still perform live!
Another great band from the 80's!
Love the guitar duo of Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson
Great band. Super melodic, lots of energy, and fun as hell on stage.
Love it! The video always gives me the feels. Very well done, but those solos from Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson are great.
I love Night Ranger! Another great band from that era is Cinderella. "Shelter Me" and "Heartbreak Station" are two of my favorites.
The 80s We're awesome times To be a teenager Listen to some great music Brings back a lot of memories
Looking back the 80s were a cool time to be a teenager, unlike today with all the confusion, drugs depression,I wish my grandchildren could experience that vibe of the 1980s !
They where one of the biggest band of the 80s...yet so forgotten, Sister Christian my other favorite
I remember listening to this song with my sister, Christian.
Good times.
Their songs “Sister Christian” and “You Can Still Rock in America” are awesome
they have two guitar players, Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson they both play different parts of the solo
Jack Blades is the voice on this. One of the great vocalists from the 80s. He did some stuff with Tommy Shaw from Styx too that was great.
The live version of this song sounds as good if not better than the studio. You should check it out. They have so much energy.
I saw night ranger on this tour when they opened up for Kiss in 1984.
Great band❤... Back in the 1990s I was lucky enough to be playing guitar in a band that opened the show for these guys and all I can say was they took us in and treated us like family... bunch of great guys !
Night Ranger has a great catalog. Brad Gillis is an awesome guitarist. They still sound great live. Explore them some more.
The guitar solo is a guitar battle between the two guitarists not just one guy :). Great music!!
One of a Kind Band. ... 1st 4 albums.... Incredible.....
I've loved this song forever...
Their Song "Goodbye " omg I love it!!!
Brad Gillis is one good guitarist. Played with Ozzy right after Randy died. Should check out some Sabbath songs from Ozzy 's Speak of Devil live album, he does a good job.
In my top 75 of all-time. Never get tired of this song. It's got it.
Wow! 75 of all-time! I don't know if I could list my top 200! My spotify faves list is 25 hours long. Lol
U will be singing this song for a couple of days, my favorite one of them, love from a small town in Virginia
BJ, you described the scene almost perfectly with this song and my wife and I (she was my love interest at the time). The only difference was we were in a bar and the bar band was playing this song…

My friend used to manage them. Brought them to town for a weekend. Went to the club Saturday night and fishing Sunday. So fun.
They had 2 of the best guitarists ever in my opinion. Gillis & Watson switching off on that lead...just awesome ! One of the most underrated bands of their era and STILL rockin"! 2 part Guitar solo. 1st - Brad Gillis 2nd- Jeff Watson.
Great band! One of their best in my opinion is Goodbye. Rock in America, Sing Me Away are 2 more good ones
Jeff Watson and Brad Gillis are both great guitarists. Brad played with Ozzy a bit.
I saw them back in August for their 40th anniversary tour and they still rock. 🤘🎸
👍👍

Jack Blades, the bass player, is in Damn Yankees with Tommy Shaw and Ted Nugent. Y'all definitely need to react to Come Again.
This was on my "playlist (i.e. mix tape) and if I was pulling up in the driveway, I just couldn't get out of the car. I'd crank it up and let my brain bleed. What a song !!! There were 2 lead guitarists on this one.
Saw them live in Pueblo Colorado back in the mid 80's. Van Zant opened for them. Both bands were great.
I'll be seeing them on 3/23/23 in Anaheim, CA!! SO MANY GOOD SONGS!
Great song. A real banger. 🔥
I always wondered why Jeff Watson left the band. "You Can Still Rock in America" and "Touch of Madness" are a couple other rockers from Night Ranger.
By far this is my favorite song from night ranger. I just the sound and the beat too it,

I saw them back in 2017 -- they opened for "Boston". That show was 🔥🔥🔥!
I used to blast on the Walkman while snow skiing!
Saw these guys in high school then again about three years ago. They still sound the same. A few different people but sounded as good as they did in the 80s. Touch of madness is my favorite song from them

Great song! This one had me hooked when they came out. Glad you guys loved it!
The first song I heard from them 🤘
The first time I saw guitarist Brad Gillis was on stage touring as Ozzy’s guitarist. He was more than up to it. A few nice tunes from Night Ranger. 👈😉
Jack Blades, lead singer and bass- formed Damn Yankees after this with Tommy Shaw from Styx and Ted Nugent. Definitely check them out- live only as Ted Nugent has to be seen 👀 - with his screaming Detroit guitar…. ❤️🎶❤️

Twin leads guitars. So two soloists with different styles.
BJ I always said that a great Rock song is one where they make the guitar talk to you. Cry or scream but it's got to talk.
Just seen them a month ago in Tulsa.......still kicking ass I their mid 60s
Their song YOU CAN STILL ROCK IN AMERICA
Fun aftermath:

This was the 1st MTV video I saw, (Those were the weeks...) I believe it was sometime around 1980.
I saw Night Ranger when they opened for ZZ Top back in the early 80's. It was great!
Just good ol' rock n roll right there. I guess you had to be cruisin' in the 80s to really understand. Still rocks.
Love "The Secret of My Success" video with MOTLEY CRUE as the "horns section".
Great jam!
Great reaction and commentary!! You should check out You Can Still Rock In America and Sister Christian...both are great songs. See what you think.
Great song for driving hard down life's highway. High energy. Ridiculous guitar riff and solo. And the message is on point.
Maybe next we could listen to Loverboy play, HOT GIRLS IN LOVE. Enjoy
You should also check out Sing Me Away. Fantastic and thanks for the memories
One great band here! They ooze talent.
They were my Besties most favorite!! She's STILL my Bestie now!! I ❤ u Dawn!!
Good fun memories of summer back in the day right here!!!
A Marine ROTC guy in college used to kill me for liking Night Ranger, lol. Hearing this probably for the first time since then - ''85 to '89 - and man it rocks. I guess the lyrics are a bit "soft" but the guitar and the rest of the music is incredible.
remember when we walked up on that car.... because we've all done that😂
Met these guys in the 80s. Really nice guys.
Their song "You Can Still Rock In America" is another barn burner like this one.
" Wife Speaking " this song was on my mind today...here you guys were with a reaction, always the best!!!
Great band, was lucky enough to see them when they were huge……
I was in 7th grade when night ranger Came out with this song in the 80s
twin guitar assault of Gillis and Watson!!
Such a great, great rockin' song! Timeless!
Always loved this song. It Rock's!!
Rock was so up beat back in the 80s, everyone was positive ,it was a different world ,thanks to MTV playing videos nonstop 24 /7 now all they play is ridiculousness.
great band and still touring in the bay area.
