Favorite Knight Ranger song. This was when rock was changing in the early 80's, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot, and others were coming to be the new era of rock. So many of the 70's rock bands had folded or broken up.
Loved your enthusiasm! "Don't tell me you love me" was released just 5 years after Eddie Van Halen blew our minds with VH's first album. Night Ranger's Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson raised the bar. Watson's two handed technique blew minds --we hadn't seen such a thing in hard rock, at least with 8 fingers the way Watson did it. Gillis's high-pitched squeals and warbling he created by pulling and thumping the tremolo arm was done with intensity most of us had not heard ... EVH didn't even do it with such intensity. Then again, EVH had a softer touch Gillis couldn't match. "Don't tell you love me" and "Rock in America" we're adrenaline straight into my veins back then.
Wow! Blast from the past! Summer of '82 partying in the clubs and EVERYWHERE every night! I was 18 just a baby but i was pretty wise beyond my years lol!❤❤❤❤❤
Great song! It came out in 82. I remember a kid on my high school wrestling team brought in a cassette tape with this song. None of us had heard it yet. We played it during our warmup. Everyone loved it! Best warmup ever! ✌️
This was my recently passed identical twin brother's(11-17-2023) and my first ever concert,KISS was the Headliner... What a Great Show at 12 Years old😎🤘🤘... R.I.P. my Brother,Best Friend and confidante 🥲😥😢
Got to see them in concert in the 80's. They stayed in town all weekend at a mutual friends house and came out to our favorite club Saturday night and fishing Sunday morning. Fantastic weekend.
That Brad Gillis solo, and the drums and the 1/2 time segments. Just what I needed in my high school years. The only thing missing is the RR crossing scene at the end, in time with the music! Thanks for the reminder!
This was the first Song I ever Heard from KR. But Next up was Sister Christian. And Seemed like was the only Song any one could remember from them. Sister Christian was a Great Song. But I hated how this Kick A#$ Tune 🎶 was Forgotten! Thanks Man! Great Reaction! 😁
Brad Gillis on guitar. He absolutely shreds and was years ahead of most hair metal players of the 80s. So underrated it borders on criminal. Though I believe he played only half of that rip-roaring solo if memory serves. 🤘😎
For years I didn't know whose song this was. All I knew about Night Ranger was they did a song that I thought went, "Twisted Sister, oh the time has come"... getting my information from radio stations that focused on playing the hits but not talking about them was 95% of the problem. Now, of course, I know a lot more about this and other bands. There's still some out there I've not heard in over 30 years. The search goes on.
JMBOY, I can't possibly thank you enough. You just took this old fart back 40 yrs in time, to when we cruised and blasted this song to ear splitting volumes. Bless you.
dude check it out live, Ive seen a vid floating around you tube, it's only ONE lead Guitar (BRAD GILLIS) the other guy is rhythm guitar Yeah react to a Live virgin
@@michaelsmith9544 as a madder of fact listen to that solo the ending half of that Badass solo, has a pattern like Jake e lee, yeah Gillis is very good with the Bar, bending the pitch.............

Sorry to hear, just sent a prayer your way. Twin Brother? Thats gotta be a rough one. My brother, not a twin, but is still my best friend.

Great live band. Remember them well from the early 80’s. Drummer sings on at least one of their big hits.
