This is what I love to see, while I enjoy the Friday videos, they seem like too much going on at once! I hope you can tell I don’t want it to sound critical! Just this is my preferred type of video! This technique is amazingly beautiful!
I understand that, just please know that this video took 40 + hours to film and edit, I posted it last night at 4 am, then slept for two hours and it off to the shop. I make the live videos not to replace this type of video, but to connect with you more because the lives don't require all of the time and work. Happy New Year Alice.

Girl, you're telling the story of many of us shop owners...friends that have stolen ideas and paint schedules, even names you used to create the vision for your store, it's a cut throat world out there...but as I continually tell my daughter we'll do it again...I moved from the Midwest to Florida and my daughter recently moved to Jacksonville, 4 hours from me, but we are again embarking on uncharted territory, 2 appointments today looking at 2 storefronts to reopen a store...I just turned 70 and have spent 35 years building my style...I'm not afraid to start over, I'm going to blow up if I don't have that creative outlet and because of your story I only use your paint and am undaunted...bring it life, we're ready for the next chapter...!!!

It's probably because my Mother also passed and the circumstances surrounding that time in my life really caused me to do what I've never done, bet on myself, reject critics, know my value. You are a born storyteller. I am so glad that it all worked out for you. Someone like you deserves a few breaks in life. I live in Europe and would die to have a few quarts of your clay based paint. Now I know why it's not available outside the US. But I sure wish it was!! When I watch you play around with all those great techniques using clay based paint, I am so sad that I don't have any to try. I hope one day you will come over to Europe and sell it here. Debi, I remember that beforeI got into redoing furniture. I saw this crazy lady on UA-cam that created fun & quirky things. Now, after my wife passed away I started redoing furniture I have experimented with a lot of paints. After you started DIY I had wanted to try it. I found a store in Cumming Georgia that carries. It. I love the paint and still enjoy your videos. I also love Melanie’s. Videos as well. In fact her video on painting a bench inspired me and now I am redoing a bench for a friend. Thank you Debi! I wish I had seen you all when you came to Atlanta. I am taking a paint class this weekend. I sold my first piece of furniture a couple weeks and I am redoing my house one brush stroke at a time. I love how you support your retailers. Keep the great work.

I love your stories so much. You are my people! Getting right in there with the paint, no prep, no fuss, paint over those cobwebs!! I'm doing my entryway bench right now with apothecary and cowgirl coral and bohemian blue. And whatever I have laying around to scrape paint off. Yesterday I used a plastic kitchen spoon and a paint stirrer. Today I'm gonna sandpaper some spots and black wax. I love your products so much. I'm doing all this right in the hallway where it will sit. No pomp or circumstance...until it is finished of course. Then I will get the trumpets. 🎺👑

I was using crap 💩 paint 🎨. I was searching for someone to paint colorful finishes. I came across you Debi!!! I didn’t see the bright and bold paint colors as much as I do now. Then I was thinking 🤔, okay I live in the middle of nowhere. I can’t afford to buy a bunch of paint. I went to your website and found my local retailer. My first DIY paint 🎨 colors were Old 57, Kissing booth and Cowgirl coral. And yes they all went onto a piece I did. I was done ✅ with that crap 💩 paint 🎨. I’ve never gone back to it either. I had heard part of your paint story and now I can fill in the blanks. Not only is your paint free from chemicals but there is an ethical business practice associated with it as well. I have been using it for a couple years now and I absolutely love it. Not only that but you have an amazing group of retailers that share their talents and techniques through UA-cam and Facebook. You're retailers are such an amazing community and support each other so well I can't help but want to be a part of everything Debi's design diary DIY paint. It's refreshing to see a business owner with an ethical business model that takes care of the retailers and the customers and your paint is NOT $44 a quart. Thank you for standing strong and being persistent. ❤❤❤ You have the best paint on the market and I can't imagine using anything else. Just an FYI. I love this story. It made my eyes swell a little and it's all because of your perseverance. The beautiful people in your circle supported you and believed in you. You have no idea how happy I am for you. In 2021, at 51 years old, my life was turned upside down and I found myself moving in with my parents. I keep a tight circle of family and friends...the people that matter to me the most...they are my rock and I shall keep pushing forward. You have shown me to keep my faith strong and belief in myself equally strong. Thank you for this. I also love your furniture piece and I can't wait to transform an antique buffet into a beautiful masterpiece using your paints.

Deb, you are such an 'Artist'....you remind me that at one point in my life, I painted some walls in a Co-op and they came out like 'Tuscany' looking and I was 'Thrilled' and even someone that I consider a Great Artist (free style) came in and said, "Sherry, you did a great job on that wall, I am impressed", makes me desire to do that again. Sigh.....:)

I really appreciate your humility. To me you seem very humble and that’s why I believe the blessings come to you. You deserve it. I’m a fella who is a fan and I do plan to get to painting. I’m on a tight budget these days so I ain’t got paint. However, I do have a few vintage furniture pieces that I got for free. Can’t wait to get at them. I am a flea market vendor up in Northern California. I want to star setting some furniture out and see where it goes. Thanks for being an inspiration.

What I admire most about you is that you live this statement..."There is enough business out there for all of us." You share credit where credit is due and work with others to help promote other painting artists and you practice ABUNDANCE rather than SCARICITY! I painted with Annie Sloan (chalk paint) paint as well...it was the most AMAZING paint.

Debi, I have to say, I sure am glad that you came along and made your paint, and brightened up the world, because, although, that chalk paint brand (we all know who it is) may have been great paint, it is boring, as far as the colors go. Your paint is beautiful and bold. It would have been a drab world without you and your paint in it. I hope someday I can buy some, but I am not there, YET!!! Your paint really is the only one I have ever wanted to try...because the colors are so vibrant.
Hardships often bring blessings. Having to live with your ailing mom probably was an amazing blessing and another hardship (emotionally) all at the same time but it gave you time with her that is irreplaceable.I found a store in my town that carries the paint and so I went in and signed up for a class, bought the paint and there it sits! I think I need to go back and get another color. Happy & Prosperous New Year!

Debi, I didn't mean to infer this particular video was a funny one. It proves how much integrity and loyalty you have to people because of your love of what you promote and encourage us in your videos. I had not reached the part about your Mom and I apologize as my first comment made me feel insensitive to that after I continued watching. You certainly have struggled to get your business off and running and your stick-to-it frame of mind prove if there is something in life you really want, you figure out a way to get there! God has a plan for you and it is apparent you listen to His suggestions!!

Thank you, Debi for having principles! And this was one fine video. If I didn’t have such a stressful job, I’d be breaking out the samples I just bought from one of your retailers and running out to my garage to get the ugliest coffee table that I got for just this reason. I was wide eyed, in awe of the art you created! I absolutely loved the story too! It’s important!
I believe as more mall stores die (as they all undercut each other & offer less and less service) that many more retailers will begin to peak out of the retail void. I’ve been wrong before of course. But I see & hear so many customers that are unhappy with their buying experiences.
It will probably only happen in specialized businesses. But look at YOUR retailers! What they, like you, DO for us!
I also can’t stand the customer that goes to the retailer like you then run to an undercutter and buys the cheaper one. I bet your lady had some sort of internet company or another reseller that she got to undercut you.
I would have been the one that bought the paint after the class even though I could get it cheaper elsewhere. I believe in paying for service.
This story tears me up; it touches me. Had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the happy ending. I feel for you that you had to go through the poverty and sticking to your integrity even when it sometimes feels like getting punished for it...know how that feels. Really hope your biz is now thriving.

Glad I found your channel! I am 53 years old, & I have been doing all kinds of different art projects, craft projects, etc- my entire life. ( I did arts & crafts shows for a while, back in the 90s- painting clothes & doing some individual rodeo clown portraits on a t-shirt for them. It was a lot of fun! I love this story about your paint! I can't wait to get a bunch of it & try it out. I once picked up an old patio chair that was completely natural in finish and pale from the sun before it was tossed out. My friend had this beautiful blue paint and I remember watching my mom dilute this gray paint to do her shabby white furniture pieces so I did the same. It literally turned the paint into a watercolor that was slightly chalky but still a beautiful sheer stain and because the chair was dry it soaked it up like a water color stain. It was so beautiful. I wish I knew what kind of paint it was. I immediately sold the chair within a couple days of posting it up for sale but I wish I could have kept it. 💙I adore your videos,your creativity,and that couch you painted loool😍💙💙💙

I was watching your Friday video, with Melissa's chair with the fern transformation. Now the Dresser painted blending method. I woke up at 2:30 AM here, with a lot going on packing for my move down South. I'm excited, to start refinishing furniture this way with your paint. I just hope there's a vendor in NC. There must be, there has to be for me. Thank you Debi, for this video the piece is beautiful and great tips. I'll be watching many more that I've already view, once I get refinishing furniture. Dionne is my favorite painter she makes really pretty furniture and she uses your paint and she is really nice and pretty and I want to paint my brothers toy box to look like space can we make a video for space toy box or furniture please thank you

Each one of your videos touches me in a different way. You are an excellent story teller and I love this type of video and will often watch it more than once, paying more attention to a part I might have missed. Kind of like a really good movie, you know? But I also enjoy your Friday morning videos, with your peeps and everyone's different viewpoints and skill sets. Most of the time, unless there is a technique I want to watch over, I only watch those once. ALL of your videos inspire me: to paint, yes of course, but also to look more closely at who I am as a person. I thank you for all of that.
