One helluva a fencing jab even in his shot form
Big up Xavier. Great footage buddy. It's a shame Benny had to come back, after losing everything. Bless up 👊
Yet, simultaneously, a blessing for us, the spectators to be able to watch such clear footage of him. Footage that shows how great he was. Nearly knocked McLarnin down in the first and scored what would have been a knockdown with the jab which intercepted a McLarnin left hook in the thumbnail.
I’ll be reuploading and deleting this one once I cut the repeated clip in the 6th round.
@@The_Ex_Boxing_Nerd Good work buddy 🥊
Wow - Poignant. This was the final fight of Leonard's career. At 36 and after several years away from the ring, the former champion just didn't have the speed and reflexes he used to. He looked like he wanted to continue, and maybe he could've lasted another round, but stopping the fight made sense. No one wanted to see him take any more punishment.
This bout was a brave "last stand" bythe great Benny Leonard. But, Benny's best days were behind him. This was an "old" Benny Leonard pitted against a young up and coming great fighter in Jimmy McLarnin. The referee made the appropriate call in stopping the bout when he did. This bout is an old story that is to be repeated throughout history of this great sport.
1:20 what a beautifull counter

Thank you. I'll be deleting this and reuploading after I edit out the duplicate clip of the beginning of round 6.
This is the one? My least favorite of his fights lol. But still cool to see
Yep, I did it special just for you.
@@The_Ex_Boxing_Nerd He still was a helluva boxer even tho diminished. He’s rocked mclarnin a couple times and making him miss a lot. He was just not prime here
@@Haplotype0 Taken at face value, it honestly was a great fight. It’s got a funny taste to it because of the fact that it’s one of those sad endings to a stellar career and phenom. Yet, McLarnin probably would have been given a standing 8 count in the second if that happened nowadays.
For a career ending fight, Leonard was still pulling out great tricks. I created and chose that thumbnail for a reason.
