    Great video thanks a lot! Quick question, would you recommend changing the max interval to 6 months if my exam date is 6 months out, or should I leave it at 1 year?

    Amazing video bro, very informative. One question I have is in your MCAT schedule from week 7 to 18 I noticed that all you were doing throughout your days was Uworld practice. How come you didn't use the AAMC question banks during those last few weeks? From what I've heard, people said to switch over to the AAMC question banks during the last bit of your prep because it replicates what you'll see on the real thing. If you could explain this to me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    • @TheAnatomicalChemist
      @TheAnatomicalChemist  9 днів тому

      Yeah for sure. I give a more in depth answer in the guide in my pdf, but essentially this is a really unpopular opinion so take it with a grain of salt, but I didn't really like the aamc section banks. I found their answers and explanations unhelpful, so I just kept doing uworld instead. I'm in the minority though so definitely check them out and see if you like them

    Thank you for this video! Did you mature the AnKing deck? If so, how long did it take? I’m worried I won’t have time to complete the deck since I’m testing in May. It seems like it’s best to use when you’re 6 months out?

    • @TheAnatomicalChemist
      @TheAnatomicalChemist  6 місяців тому

      No problem. That’s plenty of time. I did both Anking and pankow in about 4 months and I matured both decks. Start today!

    Thank you so much for the video, was super helpful! Just wanted to ask a few questions I came across.
    1. Does anki randomize the questions after you reviewed them the first time? I realized the questions in each chapter are in sequential order but hoping for it to randomize so its less predictable.
    2. Also was wondering if anki randomizes the questions across all decks you untoggle as you add more and more chapter decks and viewed them for the first time.
    Once again, truly appreciate the guide youve given!

    • @TheAnatomicalChemist
      @TheAnatomicalChemist  8 місяців тому +3

      Yes and yes, assuming you click the main deck. If you just click the biology deck, you will only see biology cards, but if you’re clicking the main deck then yes everything will be randomized

    Hey! Thank for the video
    Was wondering when you explained the AnKing deck you said not to do too many new cards as they pile up. How do you limit and reduce the number of cards? Is it just you don’t so many or can you reduce how many new ones?

    • @TheAnatomicalChemist
      @TheAnatomicalChemist  8 місяців тому +1

      No problem! Yes you control how many new cards you do a day, so if you feel like you’re doing an overwhelming number of cards, scale back a bit so you don’t get too many. You always want to do all your review cards, but you can change how many new cards you do each day. Some days I wouldn’t do any new cards

    • @bridgetrodig201
      @bridgetrodig201 5 місяців тому

      does this mean that although the "preset" new cards/day is 9999, we should change the "Today only" setting to 50? or should we unsuspend 50 new cards a day?@@TheAnatomicalChemist

    Hello! This is a silly question, but I’m a brand new Anki user, so I’m trying to get the hang of it for MCAT prep!! If you were going through the Kaplan books every day and adding those sections to your Anki deck for content review, how did you keep from having thousands of cards piling up to do every day? If the old ones are in the system to be done, do they naturally get spaced farther out? Enough so that you can add two new Kaplan sections a day? It just seems like it would get exponentially too big too quickly! Thank you so much for all your help!!

    • @TheAnatomicalChemist
      @TheAnatomicalChemist  6 місяців тому

      Glad to help. I should’ve mentioned although I read two chapters per day I didn’t do all the cards associated with those two chapters every day. I’d do around 50-100 new cards a day or so, but you do not want too many cards piling up. I always tried to stay under ~500 total cards per day so that I was not spending a majority of my day on anki. I averaged around 300-400 cards per day. And yes the review cards do become more spaced out as you go

    • @bridgetrodig201
      @bridgetrodig201 5 місяців тому

    • @TheAnatomicalChemist
      @TheAnatomicalChemist  6 місяців тому

      I don’t remember if I buried any cards, but to my knowledge I don’t believe I did. Max interval at a few months shouldn’t make a big difference

    would you study by doing subdeck by subdeck (finishing all of bio, then moving on to chem and finishing all of chem) or would you do the whole Anking Deck "dues"? And how would you add "50" new cards to study a particular day -- by unsuspending 50 cards in a tag (chapter) and then studying the subdeck (or by studying the whole Anking Deck and completeing some "due" questions from different subjects)

    • @TheAnatomicalChemist
      @TheAnatomicalChemist  5 місяців тому +1

      I would do all my due cards and then just unsuspend however many new cards I wanted to do. Doesn’t matter whether you do subdeck or main deck
