    Instead of the forget function, I use the Anking’s “difficult cards deck” method which uses a filtered deck to select cards whose ease is low suggesting you are getting them wrong a lot. Same idea though, it’s good to make sure you know what ideas you aren’t getting.

      Cut the distractions.
      If you procrastinate, then learn about this thing called "learned helplessness".
      To increase concentration you have to either love what you're doing or studying or be highly curious about it. To get rid of brain chatter, use a dairy to write down them thoughts that are bugging you.
      Also, there is an app called "forest". You can use that as well.
      Have a great day!

    • @thatoneuser8600
      @thatoneuser8600 Рік тому +7

      Honestly the only thing that helped me increase my focus is by avoiding dopamine overstimulation, such as avoiding overstimulating music, social media, IP, junk food, etc. That way, the only dopamine I get is from studying and becoming a better version of myself.
      Also, make sure you take mental breaks when you need to by doing what neuroscientists call "downtime", which is partaking in an activity that requires little to no concentration to the point where your mind starts wandering. An example of such activity is just staring at a wall. Downtime has been shown to increase focus and productivity as well as learning retention, as it uses the default mode network (DMN) of your brain to process what you've just learned in the background, whereas if you were to take a mental break by scrolling through social media, you wouldn't truly be giving your brain a break from processing as there's a lot of novel information on social media that your brain will process.
      Downtime also increases creativity, which is where Archimedes' famous "Eureka!" moment came from, as his mind was wandering while stepping into a bathtub. The DMN is much faster than the executive function of your brain, which is why you'll almost always make faster and better connections between different topics when your mind is wandering than when you are focused on a specific thing.
      Hope this helps.

So I want to be efficient and prepare for what the future holds and anki is a tool I heavily want to master and use for this and also I'm looking to self teach me german so i can opt for an exchange and study maybe a year chemical engineer outside.
