Hi Taylor. ohhh boy i remember those days, i grew up on the family dairy farm, getting up at 4am clean the milking barn then feed heifer's hay then clean calves and give them there milk, then milk our low group. We had free stalls with 2 groups. We had a 4x4 milking parlor. WOW seeing Eastern breeding sign brings back days to, had to help the breeder that was always fun LOL

Gosh this brings back memories, its been 30 years since we had to sell out but most of the girls i still remember. A piece of my heart went with them when they left the farm. Really enjoy your videos, we had a swinging 6 parlor and when we sold out were milking 62 with 15 dry cows. Best of luck to yall!

So good to see how well you care for all those cows & calves, it inspires me to keep going while I 'm recovering from pneumonia and only doing the bare minimum for my critters. Funny thing once I get out there, it's like they give me energy.
I have a similar gelling issue with my pickup. Gels up realy easy. Ive been using power service for years and not had an issue with it gelling up. If theres a weak point in a Navistar/Ford Powerstroke 7.3 1st gen, its the fuel system. Very annoying when its fighting you.
Keep the little baby calves are coming yeah it's kind of unusual that that calf don't look anything like the mom nothing resembles but that's the way genetics work it looks really nice over there with that snow in the fields but cold cold!!!!!!
Taylor, you could use an axe handle or similar to break the ice on the waterer instead of your boot. I would hate to have a boot full of ice cold water at 16 degrees, but then you are a tough cookie. Take care.

Yes, but giving straight penicillin is not recommended (in cases it has been shown to damage treated quarters) and giving a higher dosage treatment such as tomorrow or today would leave residue in the milk for weeks to especially if double treatments are administered. So in order to treat her high counts while waste as little milk as possible we chose to give her spectamast. Which is actually ceftiofur hydrochloride not spectromycin

What brand is that fresh cow bucket ? I like that you can see how much is in it . With the stainless buckets its a guessing game so you dont run it over.
