Good Morning Taylor, I have been waiting patiently and anxiously for you to post your video, it really makes my day I love them so much , you and Bret work together like a well oiled machine 😊 I hope you have continued great weather for this season to make a lot of hay for the Moo Moo’s 😊
The barn cleaner seems to be working great! The ladies relaxing before milking is a great visual definition of the term...contented cows. Congrats on the two new additions and especially on your new calf! I hope the foot concern heals quickly!
Watching this session, I see you're a real cowpuncher Tay! It's enjoyable watching you punch the cows and easily get their cooperation! It's really fascinating!
The new heifers look good, hopefully the one is all better from scours. The hook thing looks like Cannon Ice Tongs but they also made log tongs. The heifers were headed out they saw a door and took off, lol. Hope your cows hoof heals up fast. Great video, thank you. I hope you stay safe and healthy Tay. Also Happy Memorial day all.
Taylor, You are amazing! I love your dedication to the essential things. So many are unaware of the effort required to produce what we find at our local grocery store. I wish you all the best, and I would love to see you running your own operation someday. You are one strong and beautiful young lady.
Hi Taylor. A few videos ago you gave us a preview about the future of your farm and part of that was raising your own heifers as replacements for you older cows. Well it looks like you are off to a great start in achieving that goal. New calves look great and will enjoy watching them grow. Cinnamon is going to get some company. Great video. Keep smiling, stay positive, and keep farming.🚜🐄😉
Good afternoon Taylor!! Great video as usual!! Your leg lifter device could have been for lift logs or ice blocks. But it is kind of small, so maybe it's for just what you're using it for, a portable skyhook! You can never have too many skyhooks!! Cool you are expanding your genetics!
Hi Taylor, beautiful looking heifer calf’s, I guess we’re not the only ones who get very inaccurate weather reports, I’ll drop it there I don’t want to work myself up, thank you for another great video
Hello Taylor, I grew up on a dairy farm in Michigan's thumb. My dad started out in a stanchion barn then he put in a single four parlor (which ended up being a single ten) when I was growing up. You guys have one of the best looking milk barns with the older style that I have ever seen
I miss milking cows, the old way! Not these 80 cow carousels, 10.000 head dairies, treat cows right and they are the appitamy of "don't worry, be happy !"
Reminds me milking in Switzerland , but two cows into a 20Ltr Billy can then tipping into a Churns ... Used take me two hours to milk 52 Cows milk went either to Chocolate or Yoghurt ... was one of the largest Dairy herds in Switzerland at the time i was there ... i arrived when the cows were still grazing out so they still had their large Brass Bells on mmm Noisey as lol
The two new additions to the farm are gorgeous even the one with missing hair. As you said her hair will grow back. To bad she had to go through the scours. I'm glad they were purchased for your Dairy because of the loving care you and Brett provide.
A city slicker came into the barn and watched the milking process , he strolled through the stalls and came to the bull and inquired if we had a special machine for this one . 😆
This brings back memories of my life in the summer as a kid, spent them on a dairy farm owned by an uncle, about 30 miles south of Toledo, Ohio. They milked about 100cows. Used Sudak grass to feed and ground corn with minerals while being milked, in a parlor of ten stalls. Took an average 4 hours to do all. System used Pyrex glass piping with 10,000 gallon bulk tank. Had a concrete pad with concrete feeding trough that used front discharge to place feed in trough. Didn’t have a skid steer, so used a farm all with belly pan to clean walkway, with stalls like yours but with steel stauncions. When baling hay or straw, used a square baler, I don’t think they had round bales then. Also used a hay conditioner between mowing and baling.
Great video Taylor. I’ve always wanted to farm but never had the chance. This is so cool to see how everything from milking, to pasture work ect is done! btw I had an uncle & aunt that lived in St. Albans, they have since passed. I also have a cousin in Corrinna. Most of my maternal kin live near Presque Isle. So it’s a small world. I wish you the best!! Brian
Isn't it a problem in snow season with the corn meal storage bin out side and your pail method ?? New subscriber binge watching in Rural New Hampshire. My mother grew up on a 300 acre dairy farm overlooking Keuka Lake, Hammondsport, NY. My aunt and cousin just sell large round bales to the neighbor farmers and vineyards. My grandmother bought the 1850 farm back in the 1920's. Farm safe. 👍🐮
Hi sweetheart, another great video. It’s nice to see a milking video again it’s been a while.. adorable calves you got, as always you’re doing an amazing job.🤗
I see you have Brent to get the cows in from the pasture.back in the sixties I had a three legged dog that would do it for me even if he had to go 3/4 of a mile to do it.he responded to German language and I soon learned enough to send him and while I would get the parlour ready here came the cows up the lane way.saved me a lot of steps.great video
Good day Taylor. Sleeping cow was adorable. Life on a farm is so rewarding. Also frustrating at the same time. How is the cow with damaged udder doing. Haven't had an update in a while. I Hope the cows hoof isn't too serious. I hate when a cow or any other animal gets hurt. Have a great farming day and God Bless
At 18:32 on left, why are only 3 suction milk cups on while the 4th teat runs milk out? Just curious if it was a planned thing or something else happened...
The cow has a damaged teat and they let it run. You must have good eyes or a better screen I really had to look to see it. If you go back a few videos you can see when they treat her teat.
Just have to say you both are awesome. Love this video. Thank you 😊 ❤ Funny Face. Gram had a black jersey with half her face white rest of body was chocolate... She named her Twist... 😊❤
very interesting the way you guys treated the foot never seen it done that way learn something every day neat the way ya held up her foot the guy that rents my fields is going to ayrshires they are nice cows
We have a clear bucket milker with lb. markings on it so if ya ever wanna know what one of the girls is giving, we just milk her into that and dump it into the tank after filtering 😃
I like how you say you're going to milk them for the next 20 years or so. The modern big farms with hundreds of cows milking three times a day for about 3 years plus or minus. Then replaced. Your cows have it much better
It would be very difficult to make sure that each cow is getting enough minerals if we mixed it into their corn meal and feeding free choice can be very dangerous. Some cows will just stand there and eat it all day which can od them on selenium and eventually kill them. Other cows may not eat it at all if you leave it for free choice. It does add a bit more effort and time the way we do it but this way we are certain that each cow is getting the nutrients they need. Great question!
How much do you have to pay for replacement heifer calfs Back when I was milking, we lived in a different financial world. We could buy most calves for less than $50.
Hi, Taylor, I was wondering are you a grade A or a grade B dairy? My cousins had a grade A and and a neighbor had a grade B, but that was years ago so maybe there isn't A difference anymore. I really enjoy your videos. When I was young we milked cows, but just for our own use. Dad milked 6-8 cows by hand before we got some kettle milkers from our before mentioned cousins. Then we milked about 12 and raised bucket calves and hogs. The good old days.
Brings back memories off 50yrs ago. I wish I still did it
Thank you so much for all of your hard work 💜 BLESSINGS!!!
Debi 💕
It is truly my pleasure, thank you so much for joining me! 😊
Thanks for another great video, that is so exciting that you got the new calves and that one of them is yours!!!!!

The two new baby female calves are absolutely gorgeous and congratulations
The barn cleaner seems to be working great! The ladies relaxing before milking is a great visual definition of the term...contented cows. Congrats on the two new additions and especially on your new calf! I hope the foot concern heals quickly!
I have good memories of dairy cows on pasture. One of the best things is you don't need to run the barn cleaner as much.
Morning Taylor!
Congrats on the new to the farm heifers! Hope they both are good producers in the coming years.
Loose has special meaning to those of us that have milked. We sold cows and went to beef in 1987 so your videos have special memories to me.

Absolutely love your show ❤

My favorite calves they look great so cute when they're young
Good morning, Taylor!
The girls seemed pretty disappointed that breakfeast wasn't prepared when they came in 🤣

Hi! everything seems so calm in the morning time, I enjoy watching this. Good luck with your newcomers! 🥪💉💯
It is really exciting for you to have your own cows! 👍👏🐄
I believe you could use those as log or ixe tongs. From when ice was delivered to homes for ice boxes.
Calves look healthy.
Nice job Tay take care take care guys and God bless y'all ❤
You all got a nice healthy looking bunch of cows
Always love to see yall milk the cows

I love seeing them enter the stall and look confused when they see there isn’t any food to eat.
Yeah, like... "Where's my treats?"
Originally they were ice tongs. There was a time when ice was used to inplace of a refrigerator before electricity.
Good morning tay farms at this stage they join the herd and become part of the milking process!
I think you are a woman of all trades Taylor! You seem to manage whatever task lying in front of you.
Regards from Sweden
Aww thank you!
My dad wants to know how much milk y’all get in a day! He’s got me watching now too ❤❤
I was wondering if the cows have a favorite feed, cornmeal, or hay! Thank you Taylor?

Hi sweetheart, another great video. It’s nice to see a milking video again it’s been a while.. adorable calves you got, as always you’re doing an amazing job.🤗
Our huff trimmer came every other Thursday. We had to select fifteen cows to keep in from morning milking.
I got a taste of milking in a stall barn for our neighbors this weekend, it's fun but it's hard work 😊
awesome stuff i run a 190 cow farm in nz love it😁
Always my Favorite TayFarm.... ❤ from India🇮🇳

How many gallons of milk each day?
That has to be hard on your back and knees with all the bending over and kneeling beside the cows. It's still a great life!
Very nice video and great cows, nice to see
Thank you very much!
Good morning Taylor, your farm is great, I'm so happy to know this video of yours
They are called log tongs or lifting tongs, the heavier it gets on the chain the deeper the tongs dig in.
Your all farmer's my family's my relationship very huge 😄
Could of put the little ones in the cab on your lap 😆😆😂😂🤣🤣👍🇺🇸
Hi enjoyed your video have a great day.

@@badgerpa9 thank you I will have to search for that video because I must have missed it.
Oh I didn't think the 4th nipple would run out of milk during that time
How long does it take for you guys to finish milking. It make me appreciate the dairy farmers even more. Awesome video.
About two hours give or take a bit, thanks so much!
Never been in the barn without music seems to calm the cows
I remember the first days on pasture, growing up. You wanted to be alert because they would projectile poop and get it everywhere. lol
AWESOME VIDEO !! 🇱🇷 🇱🇷 🇱🇷

That tool is ice tongs for block ice.
Was that ischamill.spelt wrong u put on hoof. Good stuff.
Yup that exactly what it was, don’t worry, I don’t know how to spell it either 😄.
Great video.
very interesting the way you guys treated the foot never seen it done that way learn something every day neat the way ya held up her foot the guy that rents my fields is going to ayrshires they are nice cows

With the pipeline system how do you know how many pounds of milk each cow gives
We have a clear bucket milker with lb. markings on it so if ya ever wanna know what one of the girls is giving, we just milk her into that and dump it into the tank after filtering 😃
I like how you say you're going to milk them for the next 20 years or so. The modern big farms with hundreds of cows milking three times a day for about 3 years plus or minus. Then replaced. Your cows have it much better
Not the once I follow. They have cows 18 to 20 years
@@wallyquinn9408 the ones i worked at averaged 3 to 4 yrs. Some were longer . Definitely not 20.
Thanks
I'm surprised that you don't mix the dairy minerals into the ground corn then give free choice minerals in the free stalls.
That was my thought. You would get a little time savings and I can't see the reasoning unless it is a problem to add it to the ration.
Funny girl. Excellent. Did you name the white Ford truck. I always name my trucks.
How many years can a cow produce milk? That tool you were asking about, looks like an ice tong. Very old
How much do you have to pay for replacement heifer calfs
Back when I was milking, we lived in a different financial world. We could buy most calves for less than $50.
Do the cows go to their own or usual stalls to be milked?
They are called log tongs sweetie 😊
They look like Cannon Ice Tongs. Could be used on logs also.
