    Erik, This has to be one of the best whisky presentations ever. Hilarious and super informative. I never realised two of my favorite Ardbegs started as Committee releases. Uigedail and Corryvreckan!

    I know I'm late but I just had a Commitee release of Scorch and the LE release together to compare my exprience with you and I think I got it!!! This history of the Commitee releases is awesome. I love Ardbeg for there flourish and playfulnish. I really respect and agree with your palate. You are really showing your Sommelier back ground and your teaching ability. I love it. I'm a CS and I'm learning about scotch as fast as I can. I've been able to bank 5 bottles of Corryvreckan for the apockolyse(sp?) all at under $85.00! I really appreciate your style so I also applaud your achieving the next level of certification in whisky certofication as well. Rock on!

    I have a few older Corryvrecken and Uigeadail, Kelpie, Grooves, Black, and Arrrrrrrdbeg. I also have some special edition Tens and a Wee Beastie. I wish to get a Lord of the Isles someday. Great fun collecting these historic bottles. Wish I started back twelve years ago rather than @ 8 years ago.

    Hi Erik
    I just watched your video on the ardbeg history, and I must say I really appreciate the time you spent to do this video, it's very informative and I love the fact you are an ardbeggin, I love ardbeg whiskey like you, and I wish I could have all the ardbeg's you showed, but that is not going to happen, I have all the core range, and a couple of the arrrrrrrbeg bottles committee release 2020, I will probably sell one bottle of it later in the year, and drink one soon. I really like your reviews and I try and watch all of them, have a great day and cheers brother for all you do !!!

    The committee releases are fun to anticipate, try, and comment upon. And they're a great way for Ardbeg to do a trial run to find the occasional star that is so good that it becomes part of their core range. But for my money, the old classic Ardbeg 10 remains supreme. But maybe that's because I'm just an old traditionalist.

    This was very well done. Like an Ardbeg documentary. I'm curious how many of the Aedbeg bottles you have? I would want to have the whole collection. It would be tough to do and expensive.

    I would love to see a compare and contrast episode on the Grooves and Scorch. Maybe even Alligator too. The barrels used all have a heavy char and I'm interested in the similarities and differences. Also I can't help but thinking the Lord of the Isles was a take on the first Lord of the rings which released in December 2001

    • @ErikWaitWhiskyStudies
      @ErikWaitWhiskyStudies  3 роки тому +1

      I only have the 46% Grooves and I don't have the Alligator. I may try to pick up some of the older Ardbegs in my next trip to the UK.

    Hey Erik, by the way my name is Eric too. Just recalled a video where you mixed scotches. Just want to let you know I actually tried mixing a couple drams, and they came out really good. Try mixing the Ardbeg 10 with Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte 10!

      If you think about it, every whisky review is an advertisement that distilleries benefit from but do not pay anything for it. It would cost them $6,000 - $10,000 to get the exposure a channel my size would give them in any whisky magazine.

    I have to say unfortunately my feeling from going though a bottle of Wee Beastie and these last two so called "Special Releases. Agrdbeg seems to be taking a dive downhill into producing inferior products! I am now scared to death now who is in charge of this distillery as they can produce much....much better than these last cheapo quick to market "quick and dirty" inferior products. Very sad to be seeing this in these crazy times!
