    I've always been a Lagavulin fan, bought a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail and fell in love. At The Avenue Pub in New Orleans, I did a run of Ardbog, Dark Cove and Super Nova. I'm an Ardbeg fanboy for life now!!

    Bartbeg in his glory! Friggin hilarious! Just visited Islay last month and hit the “Scotch Trail” Beautiful 5 mile walk along the shore with stops @ Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg. Love how Scott wants Bart to pick up a $500 bottle😝! This was fun, no objective in mind , just two friends enjoying some amazing bottles. Cheers Gentlemen!

    after spending some extra time with my corry, after nosing, and tasting, i went in for a nose at the bottom and I get the most amazing scent of perfectly rendered bacon fat, almost turning into like a candied bacon. it makes me happy. thanks for the review. Does there ever have to be a reason to drink a flight of top Ardbeg drams? For those of us with ordinary sized wallets it's great to see the core range malts hold up so well against the far more expensive special releases. And you're right, guys - the standard Ardbeg Ten still does it on so many levels. Great to see the distillery taking care with its quality control on the basic juice. Cheers!

    • @7percentSolution

      I was encouraged as well. Ardbeg is smart; they understand that their most common, easy-to-find expressions are often the first ones people try. If you want to eventually sell the higher dollar releases, you want to open the door with a strong first impression.

    What Supernova year did you sample at Ardbeg on the dock? The new 2019 or a older release?

  • @duanejameslarge9920
    @duanejameslarge9920 5 років тому +2

    Now that is a Whisky tasting that I could really get excited 😋about doing 👍🏻! FYI, the 5th version of Supernova will be released in early October and I hope to taste it while I am on Islay in late October. The previous 4 versions were released in 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2015. Regarding Perpetuum, it was the 2015 Ardbeg Day release to celebrate Ardbeg’s 200th Anniversary (1815-2015). The reason that the expression is still included in tastings at the distillery and available for sale in the gift shop in 2019 is that they discovered a large group of unsold cases in a mainland warehouse early this year. Finally, that was the quickest ending that I have ever seen for one of your videos ~ “That’s it" 😆. Cheers Guys 🥃!

Oogie is definitely my favorite of the two. Need to grab the 10 to compare now for sure as I've never had it. On another note.. been watching for a couple of years but genuinely had no idea u both are cops!. come to think of it there is a definite mel gibson/danny glover - riggs/murtaugh dynamic to your chemistry.

      Hmmm. . .is Bart the burned-out vet, living on the ragged edge, supposedly angling for a psycho pension, and Scott the one who's "too old for this sh*t"; or is it the other way around? I guess we'll just have to wonder. ;-)

    1970s/1980s/1990s peat is so much better than todays, imo. The sweet peat of yesteryear, I wish the distilleries could or would do it like they did then, now days it is mostly just peat for peats sake. A heavily sherried ardbeg single cask from the 90s or earlier is where its at.
