    As an FYI I have owned the mineral rights here for the last 2 years but have decided not to stop the public from collecting here. I encourage rock hounds to coordinate through the Crystal Cave in South River for information about group outings to the site. All I ask is that people respect the Ontario rock collecting laws.

    OMG Wowzer that was breathtaking. I take my little green wagon when I'm out walking the road. That way I can put my essentials water gloves and phone oh and my oxygene tank in the wagon and can pick up rocks till I get tired then I go home and sort out my haul for the day. I pick up lots of quarts druse and have found a few larger pieces. Some sand stone and lime stone for my rockgarden. And Especialy red jasper and agates and what ever else catchesvmy eye. Lol basically it gives me a good reason to take a walk. Great video. 💘 Ms. Michal

      @@meMiner lol actually I have found a few quartz clusters I may be able to polish. At least I think I can. I w iuld so love to go exploring with you but its a long way From Texas lol. By the way are you in Canada. My moms people came from Canada. I am going to see if I can buy a second hand dremel tool it would make my sanding go so much faster. I have also found a bunch more fossils.
      Can't wait till my batch in the vinagar is done. They should be getting close. Your so sweet to think about putting a few crystals on the road for me to find. I actually haven't walked the whole road yet so lots more goodies for me to find.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  5 років тому

      I am in Ontario, near Toronto. Long way from Texas. If you are going to use a dremel, be careful of dust from the stones when cutting/grinding. I prefer working wet to keep the dust away from my lungs.

    Since I don’t have a channel I will share on my favorite rock guys. For those of you who have HF tumblers and have had trouble with the stops wearing prematurely I found a easy fix. If you will coat the end of your finger with oil and just hold it on the area where the stops run it slows wear considerably. You will have to wipe it off when you handle the drum. It just takes a very small amount so go easy. Great vid !

    Daisy just warned off Bigfoot, she is in charge, top of the hill.
    I saw some flashes of colour, red and green, I am assuming that they were just reflections?
    Lots of milky quartz and that huge boulder with mica on looked great.
    You got some nice crystal clusters, I didn't think you would find an small crystal in all that milky, they are there but not easy to find ( unless you are called Greig) and a big piece of smokey too, I have lots of big quartz to cut but trying to find crystal clear flawless piece like that ice is extremely difficult,
    Cool and it didn't look that hard to get through the trees.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  6 років тому

      Easy place to access and lots of rock. I am sure one could take out some really nice stuff with a chisel. You are right about fractures in quartz, especially in a spot where they blasted.

      That's never been a consideration and I bet it never crossed their minds that some day a rockhound might come along and want some flawless crystal quartz so they had better not blast and send shock waves through the ground.

    I think the feildspar here inbetween sundridge and trout Creek can be interesting

    Theres a sunstone occurance in sundridge on the island i believe

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  2 роки тому +1

      The occurrence that I am aware is at a kid's camp on private property. I have never been there but understand the sunstone is really nice. I always stare at the road cuts when driving between Burks Falls and Trout Creek. I have stopped a few places but haven't found much. There must be something there. Green Feldspar sounds like it could be ammonite, as long as the green isn't just a mold stain.

    • @wildedibles819

      Its beautiful here and thoes road cuts tell an interesting story looking like muffin batter to me at times

      My grandfather used to work for perry township and used to crush gravel and make roads my dad did this also back in Algonquin park

      I had my hair cut from a lady who mentioned her lab had a litter of pups (half black and half chocolate). I thought my daughter Amy would love to see them, so we dropped by for a visit when they were about 4 weeks old. Out of 10 pups, Amy ended up mostly playing with one of them. She was down on the floor and looked up to say "I would call this one Daisy". I immediately bought Daisy and put a small red collar on her. It seemed like a long wait until we could go get Daisy after 8 weeks. The gift for Amy turned out to also be a wonderful buddy for me.
