I've had one of these for 5 years. It was a little quirky at first, but i glass bedded the stock and threaded the barrel. It now regularly shoots 1/4 to 1/2 moa groups. It is now one of my favorite rifles. I have shot hundreds of utah ground squirrels mostly around 200 yds, but all the way out to 400. This is a cheap rifle, but with a $25 bedding kit, and some youtube, can be turned into a tack driver. Before "build back better", my hit ratio on squirrels with this gun was about 75% past 150 yds. But due to the high cost of 223, i have since switched to 22lr for my squirrel slayings.
@@brettcunningham5511 I have switched from 22-250 & .223 to > 5.56mm/Wylde due to ammo prices. I have sold all my .223 rifles but 1. I use to shoot Sig Sauer 77gr .223 and Norma 77gr .223 in my 5.56mm and .223 1:8 twist rifles. The cost is just prohibited. I now use AAC 75 & 77gr 5.56mm and Barnes 70/85gr when I treat myself to some 700 yard plinking or hunting. The hunting and precision rounds are 1/3rd to 1/2 the cost of .223 comparable rounds. I test 5.56mm ammo out to 500 yards on a 1" gong. 5 shots 2 hit minimum is my standard. All my rifles use prefered rounds of either 75-77gr precision ACC ammo for $10-12.5 a box. My ARs and rifles love them and the Barnes TXS 70-85gr rounds .2- 1" @100 yards. Barnes 85gr are without a doubt the best consistent cartridge in every rifle I own. Mossberg Predator 5.56mm > 75gr AAC & Barnes 70/85 Ruger Ranch 5.56mm > AAC 75/77gr & Barnes 70/85 (note: this rifle shoots anything very well considering it's $400, and it is the most consistant and accurate rifle I own) Sig Sauer Predator Wylde AR-15 > AAC 75/77gr & Barnes 70/85 Falon match Wylde AR-15 > 75gr AAC & Barnes 70/85 Tikka TX3 .223 shoots 5.56mm just fine 0 issues. > AAC 75/77gr & Barnes 70/85 All 1:8 twist barrels. 5 shot group testing on bolt rifles, 3 shot group on ARs. All shoot .2-1" AAC ammo can be found @ Palmetto State Armory.
Great video. The firearm is gorgeous, Ferg is a pro, but the camera work is the real standout.
