This is a great watch, I'm planning on doing similar work but not quite as extensive. Just poly bushes, new drop links and ball joints. Glad I seen this so I'm not gonna be surprised about getting the gearbox out the way for that control arm though. Bet it feels absolutely solid to drive now!
Thx 🙏glad you enjoy it. Yeah, the control arm bolts were a real surprise for me the first time, took me weeks stuck on them. It drives a lot better now and feels solid but unfortunately when to a bad alignment shop, and still haven't had time to go get a better alignment. And still have more suspension parts planned for it in the future.
@Kellier1916 you're probably right, will have to give the alignment a try next time 👍🏻. Wish I had thought of the pin cleaning before, been wasting so much time and effort cleaning them manually in the past
Great Video, not too long, straight to the point, nice cut 💯✌🏼😊 I own Golf 5 GT, your video helped me a lot. Only my bolts didn't come loose so easily like your's. Greetings from Germany EDIT: Lemförder is always a great choice 👍🏼 I used from MEYLE
Great video, I seen a tip the other day getting driveshafts back in was to have the circlip ends at 12 o clock inserting as the ends drop into groove better Hope you have one on rear suspension too!
This project cost me around 1400$ in parts, shipping, and the few extra tools I had to buy. For labor you'll need to add up all the individual fixes hour rates, and multiply it by your area's mechanics rates, and it would be a lot i'm guessing
Welches Golf V Modell ist es? GT Sport oder GTI? Gibt es einen Link zu dem Kompletten Reperatursatz? Suche schon lange ein vernünftiges Video zum Austausch. Endlich habe ich eins gefunden, Danke.
Its not a GT Sport nor GTI. Just Golf with a 1.6L engine. This was not a complete repair kit, I had to choose the parts one by one. But I have the parts listed in the vid description. Carful not all Golfs share the same parts, always check parts with your vin number.
Good Luck :) its 2.0TSi absolutely in love with it, 2010 only 40k miles on the ODO full VW service history but its spent the last 3yrs by the uk coast so the suspension could do with a few upgrades :) can't wait to see your round 2 @@ZakiGarage
Thx, changed the whole steering knuckle on the left side since one of the bolt holes for the caliper was stripped. The steering knuckle came as a kit with a new hub so replaced it all. Also, changed the axle on the left side since the boot on it was cracked and leaked the grease all over the left side. The axle on the right side looked good at the beginning but I think I'll replace it too in the future after seeing its condition. Reason for changing only the hub on the right side is a stripped wheel bolt hole.
like the silence 😉 & letting the guide do all the work, the practicality of "his actions speaks louder" 😂
Fantastic video. I'm getting my R32 done in a month and wanted to know the steps on this and the parts required. Bravo, thanks 😊
Good luck with the repairs, the R32 is a great car. just make sure to check the parts you order with your vin number.
Nice work! Good Job! Easter Egg at 25:00 😂 The CAT!!!

You could probably aline the wheels better yourself - if you can do this job wheel alignment should be easy for you...
Love the drill trick to clean the caliper pins!

Superb video guide. Thanks a lot for your work.
Thanks bro

Thanks , a lot of the struggling with seized bolts were edited out, some were a nightmare.
Great video.. excellent editing.. smart using the spray before every bolt..
Love your editing
Thx
Cat in a video, count me in 😀
The old front control arm is made of die-cast material. Have the new ones noticed the steel driving feel or steering clarity?
Great video, I seen a tip the other day getting driveshafts back in was to have the circlip ends at 12 o clock
inserting as the ends drop into groove better
Hope you have one on rear suspension too!
Thx , rear suspension in the planning

Yeh sorry, I know its cordless. Cheers
Will be doing this same thing to my mk4 jetta vr6 both front and rear suspension with rear axle beam included... how much would it cost at a mechanic

@@ZakiGarage got a quote for 1200$ from a local shop. Thanks for the reply
Not a bad quote👍🏻 good luck
How long did all of this take you my gti undercarriage is rusted to shit so I’ll have to multiply your time by 3
May i know the torque spec for the axle bolt?
better explained at this time stamp:

Great Vid, tks, question what model Milwaukee air wrench have you used here
Thx . Its not an air tool, just an electric impact. Got it linked in the vid description. amzn.to/3A1wa4Z

How much where all your parts? Would you know how much this would be if a workshop did this?
All the parts cost me around 1400$. Hard to tell how much it will cost at a shop.
thanks for the reply, planning on overhauling my Scirocco's suspension @@ZakiGarage

@@fjung123 Thx , looks like you have a great model and well taken care of. Keep up the great work taking care of it 👍
I was nervous buying my Suspension Arm 😅

Never used wd-40 as a rust penetrant. However, freeall works the best ive ever found. Free plug. That wd-40 is just making a mess.
No it's not, WD40 is above all greases. Maybe Your product is fake😂
👍
your forgetting lower arm needs tightening on the deck not at full droop
No worries, it was done @ 26:40
I wish you lived in Kenya.
I'm sure there are better people than me in kenya to work on cars 👍🏻
Why Brenda
A claw hammer? Really?
Instead of wasting time doing all this. Go to your breakers and find a B6 Passat and take the entire front aluminum LA assembly.
Breakers are very bad in my country and will charge more than new parts. And forget about finding VW cars since they are not popular here.
Good for another 150K miles 😂
It didn't even finish its first 150k 😆
