This is such excellent advice and a complete list of what you absolutely need to be aware of! The information is all out there, but not all summarized in one single list like this. I've just had a face-/necklift a week ago and had researched extensively what to do and what not to do. This video would have definitely saved me some time preparing.

I am three months into recovery from neck, face, brow lift with far transfer. I find that if I do not moisturize morning and night my skin in the middle of my neck looks a bit wrinkled. This was a trouble area on me. Its like the skin has memory. If I keep it well moisturized it doesn't show. Have you heard of this?

….and don’t forget to get a lymphatic massage on face/neck the day of or the day before surgery and definitely post surgery to help reduce stubborn swelling. Makes a huge difference!
Also, go into surgery with a clean colon. Helps to reduce swelling and if you can keep regular bowel movements post-surgery, even better to help reduce swelling and improve your overall recovery time

    • @jniamtuiii
      @jniamtuiii  11 місяців тому +1

You have to be careful with that request. Facelifts have a vertical component, but to have a natural result you need more than a purely vertical vector. Experienced surgeons know the correct direction of pull and it is a bit different for each patient.

Most people take a week off. If you can work from home or go into your office and not exert yourself, then you could probably do that at 4-5 days

2 days couch potato or hematoma
Prenatal vitamins 1 month before surgery
Boost shakes post operation 5-6 per day
    Low sodium diet -
No aspiring - no Advil - no garlic - or bleeding
No sneeze - no lifting - no CLEAR THROAT
no talking - every time I open & close mouth is pumping
No looking down on phones or laptop-wrap towel so you can't move
Don't look at the mirror for 6 weeks ;)
12 weeks is when you can look for "final"
If you can't call your doctor you chose the wrong doctor
    Very important !
I'm considering a facelift this year and when I consulted with a very famous doctor (Alan Gonzalez) not only he will not be available but he will only see you once and then send other doctors (?!?!)

Such excellent and useful advise! Nevertheless, some horror stories…..I would have to hire a caregiver as I lost my Father, Mother, sister my only sibling and her 2 daughters all in a 7 month period 4 years ago. My parents were only children.
Any advise for people with long Covid but obviously not contagious. I am quite petite and I have never smoked….Never tanned and I wear sunscreen every day even in the winters when we don’t have any sun. My skin is actually quite nice. But I do have long Covid. I can’t help but notice when I take five steps I am out of breath. This is the only reason why I am hesitating. I want to have a facelift so badly but I caught Covid in January 2023 and I have not been back to work. I was in the pharmaceutical industry for most of my life but then went back to school and became a registered nurse. I’m not going back to work and I am just focussing on hopefully getting better.
Thank you so much Dr. Niamtu ! Respectfully, Susan from Canada. ps: I actually had a patient who had a heart attack while having a bowel movement. He was constipated ….Unfortunate
