    Looks cool. I carry a U.S. military poncho when ever I head out in field. Very handy when needed.

      Ahhh the military poncho is nice for sure. I just wish they we're a little thicker. They make a Angolan poncho very similar to the USGI one. It's a little thicker. Thanks for watching 🤗

    thanks for the video Scotty. close to 3000 subs wow! nice looking poncho. and i agree that pattern looks good. i almost bought the jacket once but they were charging me 100$ so nope. i know European surpluss is rare here but thats a little pricey. God bless you my friend !

      Thanks. O yes getting closer to 3,000 subs...whooo hooo🤗👍💯. I can't believe they we're trying to charge a $100 that's insane. They are getting a little pricey still today but $20-40 on eBay it's not too bad used to be like $10-15. Thanks for watching 🤗

    Hi Scotty, good thing you were wearing the weighted vest or you would have been Gone With the Wind 💨😄. Looks like a nice poncho. I don't own any Alpenflage camo. Was always interested in it though. Seems like it would be perfect for the Fall woods. God bless. 👍

      Hey Jeff. Ya ever sense we moved more into the country with these windy open field it's been crazy windy. I do like this poncho, but they are getting to expensive online now. Used to be like $5 to $10 back in the day. Thanks for watching as always

    I read years ago , studies shown there is something about red in the wild that makes it
    harder for animals to see you, must be the same with people if they make that pattern?
    love the videos , keep up the good work !

      Yes. It's a unusual camo color for sure, but works good for the country it was produced in. Interesting what your talking about though. Never knew that. I'm glad your liking the videos. I'm just doing what I can as I'm still getting adjusted in our new place. Thanks for watching 😎

    the parts with button are passed on the legs. thus the pans of the poncho are supported and do not move with the wind. you find yourself with a jacket

      I never did pay any attention to those before. Thanks. I could have used those buttons that morning. Would have helped a lot. I will have to try it again on a windy day. Thankd for watching 🤗

    This was known as the *drac'* (from Dracula) in the army. Don't know why, maybe with the gas mask on, and the infamous three fingers plastic gloves, it was a little scary ;-)

    • @scottysurvival
      @scottysurvival  Рік тому

      I totally can see that. Was it the Swiss military this was called the DRAC?.

    Could you turn it into a shelter.?

    • @scottysurvival
      @scottysurvival  Рік тому

      Yes and no. I've done a couple videos on making this into a quick shelter set-up. It would work ok to sit under, but not sleep under. It's a pretty neat and robust poncho though.
