Easier access to the 482 visa coming from the 24th of November. (There is a typo in the date that flashed up saying August by mistake.)

Thanks Karl for the mid week update 😊
Although the planning levels for 2023-24 were around 60K for state/regional combined, but the actual allocations were just roughly 17k. do you reckon there would be full allocations this time for 24-25 for state/regional quota?
Thanks Karls for good work.
No worries! Thanks for your support
Thanks Karl, you are a gem
Appreciate your support
Thank you Karl❤❤❤
Your welcome!
Great video Karl, as always. What I dont understand is where is 189 anyways. This financial year there was only one round I gues and even that was limited to healthcare related profession. And now they are reducing it to ~15k? Or they filled all the slots for this financial year from the invitations sent last year?
Hi Karl, Thanks for the surprise appearance 😊
Any time!
Hi Karl, Thanks for creating this informative video.
Have one question, when will they start preinvite for next FY? Will be from July or later months?
Your videos are the best! Did they mention whether they will increase the application fees? Thanks
Thank you
Hi Carl, do you think CSOL list will affect the main SOL list? Some occupations are listed in CSOL which are not in SOL. Wondering if SOL and CSOL will be streamlined. Pls share your thoughts. Thanks
Thanks Karl 🙂
Your welcome
Very good karl
Thanks, Karl,
Does this mean that onshore will be prioritised over onshore applicants for skilled migration? As the government plans to reduce migration, they can not only reduce international students, or they will have some backlash from education providers, so I guess they will reduce inviting offshore applicants for skilled migration as well .
Very informative. ❤❤❤
Glad you think so!
Which visa subclasses are covered in regional planning levels apart from 491?
Mr Konrad, thanks for the frequent update. The screenshot @2:54 shows the status of 188b and 188c only. Is the numbers for 188a available?
Thank you, Karl! I was surprised to see a notification of your update today 😅😅😅😅
Hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for working late, see you on weekend.
Sunday release, thanks for your support
Hey Karl,
From the last video regarding Suzanne's email, the shadow minister said the proposed changes will not affect current students.
Does this change refer to shorter duration of stay of visa 485 as well?
Karl do you have any idea about 190, and 491 backlog ?(in numbers)
Hi Karl, there is rumour perth will be removed from regional area. What do you think about that?
Do you think the PH working holiday visa will be release this July?
Good that employee nominated is being promoted however they must rethink about the re nomination requirment by employers for 186TRT.
Just submit the salary slips and ATO document stating 2years of work with one employer and help skilled workers get 186TRT
Hi Karl, will there be another 189 invitation round before the end of this financial year?
Karl, absolute legend thanks!
My 485 ends in October so I will be able to jump on the 482!!! 🎉
From 23rd of November
And with new CSOL list occupations

Guess I'll jump on the 407 in the meantime

Hello Karl,
Thank you so much to keep us updated.
I am from India and i want to apply for PR.
Could you please help us?

Great .Karl . Any presiction for 491 processing time ludge 2023 May

Thanks!
Hi Carl. I am on a 482 visa. Do i still nees to work fir my current employer for 2 years before applying for PR on the TRT stream or only for 1 year? Tha ks Carl
Mr Karl what's the government doing about the backlog visas cos we have been waiting for 2 years now
Thanks Karl, really appreciate all your videos.
Just had a clarification. while we have a 482 on a particular occupation/ANZSCO code on Medium Term and it gets renewed in another occupation/ANZSCO code which is on short term for various reasons, such changes in the ANZSCO code will it affect the PR pathways even if we have ACS positive assessment for the occupation on the medium term list and have the claimed points in EOI based on that
Closely related and the points system is a different issue to the 186
Could you speak throw light about the backlog in 887 visa processing Thanks
Hi Karl,
Would there be a chance for a 189 invite for secondary teacher in the grants in the new financial year. I will be finishing my degree (onshore in SA) in July, so will be able to lodge an EOI in August, after getting my degree assessed. I will have 80 points.
Thank you for your time.
Processing time for 186 metro applicants exceed 12 months. However for regional applicants only 4-5 month. I don't understand this difference both are living in Onshore.
Will 482 visa exist for another few years? Or it will be substituted with another new visa?
Thanks, Karl, for all the information.
Your welcome, thanks for watching
Hi,
I have been waiting for 491 visa for more than a year now and I am offshore. Since the net overseas migration for 2024-25 has decreased, does this mean that the time for visa processing for offshore will increase?
I hope I can get an answer .
Thanks carl for surprise episode by mid week.
Only on Budget night, thank goodness
What a legend
Karl any good news about age limit for 485...??? 😞😔
I tried to apply for the 189 and they changed their criterion halfway. I've just submitted an EOI for a 858 and now that's changing as well :( . I'm out of here
Hi Karl! with the quota for 189 halved, is it gonna affect the processing of already lodged 189 visa applications, especially the non priority occupations from December 2022 round? Are they gonna be pushed further behind the queue when there’s gonna be a new round for priority occupations?
Those already lodged will not be greatly impacted
I’m holding 482 TSS visa with 2 years of validity time. I started to work with my employer after 10 days of my visa approval.
For 186 visa, minimum I have to work with the same employer for 2 years.
So, I have sort of 10 days. What’s your opinion on this? Do I need to go with 482 renewal and after 10 days, can go with 186? Or directly can I go for 186?
Hi Karl,
I have seen processing time for 887 visa increased and it looks long waiting period and it shows 42 months of 90% applications . Before it was reduced and it was around 90 days. This is due to end of financial year or something else.
It will reduced processing time of 887 visa after July!
Your response will be appreciated. Thanks.
I was just waiting for this to come in... Thanks for a quick updates.
Can we expect increase in grants now? Or do we have to wait till July 2024. Please do guide.
Still need to wait till July probably
What happened to the planning level of 2023_24 ? The 189 round never happened and state quotas never concurred with the actual planning level . Is there a chance same will be repeated in 2024.25
Hello, Sir. Do you any idea on the backlog(primary + secondary) for 190 now? Based on your experience, do you believe that processing time will be expedited in next FY?
No newer backlog number yet but when new FY comes and quota resets, grants will flow again as it has been in the past.
Hi, Karl when they will start granting visa for 491 like before because it’s seems like dead now a days only fewer grants coming in weeks and it’s painful that they keep our Applications over the year and then send again for medical and PCCs it just so frustrating
By now only about 1.5 extra months to wait before new FY kicks in. They will assess your application eventually.
Karl, many thanks for your great work. Do you think there is any chance of receiving my 190 visa grant (electronic engineer) which was lodged in Jan./2024 by the end of this year(2024)?
Yes there is a good chance they can clear out all those past applications
Hi Karl, Will there be an impact from the budget to the already lodged 491/ 190 visas ?
Not really, they know whats coming down the pipeline
Hello Karl, so we are basically begging our employer for sponsor if we didn't get any 189 or 190 invite ?
190 quota has remained the same but 189 has given way to emplyers to look after people instead
Thanks a lot for the update Karl.
Can u clear this out?
If there is an international student, who has a working experince more than 2 years ( with positive skill assesment for IT), can directly apply for 482 after 485 granted ( without working onshore ) ?
Yes Sam but it depends how long ago that work experience was. It s meant to be in the last five years
@@ailsaustralia thanks Karl..
Hi Karl,
I have 85 points as a Systems Analyst / Business Analyst. This is the maximum I can get, unfortunately. How are my chances for invitation for the coming financial year (subclass 189)?
Hard to say but 189 just became much more competative. best of luck
Hey bro. Have you thought about 190 ?
Does this mean that processing speeds for 190 will likely increase or decrease?
Every application is unique so it is hard to say. I saw some people's 190 with criminal records being referred to VACCU, which would drag that application processing time to years, and another person got his 190 application lodged back in Feb 2022 but only receive the grant in Apr 2024, a full 2 year waiting.
Halving 189 allocations makes it's so difficult for those with EOIs already.
yes, it will be
Thanks so much Karl .
When will I receive my visa( 190) grant which was lodged March 2023 .? So far we did medicals twice
Hopefully from July they will make progress
Mine was also lodged in Mar 2023 and I got my grant on Feb 2024, didn't redo anything. Not priority occupation. Hope you can get yours soon.
Not a bad budget, considering where the country is at today, forward estimates look pretty bad though.
Necessary to reduce immigration/visas, not sustainable running the program at that % of population, people often forget the additional costs required including infrastructure (when was the last hospital built in west Sydney), schools, water, public service etc
It will sort itself out in a few years
@ailsaustralia
DHA announced 30,375 under Skilled Independent (189) for FY 2023-24. But as of now only 8,300 invites have been issued. Can we expect another 189 round before end of this FY?
Probably not, there are still many applicants in the pipeline so they may hold off
Hi karl
I have applied eoi for 491 software engineer 261313 in month of sep 23, when can we get invitation
Hi Carl, we applied for 188 visa business innovation stream in 2022. Still no progress. How much longer would it take to process this application?
I think they are just waiting until people give up, so be prepared to wait them out
I received PR (VIC 190 visa) on 8th May 2024. Then I was offered a Job (Civil Engineer) from WA on 17th may 2024. I am still in overseas and planning to move to australia in 1st week of July 2024. Is it ok to accept the job offer and move to WA (instead of VIC). I have tried for job offers from overseas in VIC for several times and yet not received any offer up to date. AM I OK TO MOVE TO WESTERN AUSTRALIA? please explain.
Hi Karl,
Why there is no new arrangements mentioned in these papers to bring down processing times
491 processing times has been jumped to 12 months from 9 months😢
With the new FY will come a flurry of grants
I really hope so...waiting for a year and one month now.
Every case is unique and for complex ones, processing time can be much longer than we thought. While case officers in DOHA are working as hard as they can, I'd guess some detail checks might take very long or might need a few attempts, which all could contribute to delay. There's also the preference at play, with 482 being a clear example that some receive nomination approval and visa grants in days. Lots of factors affecting processing times.
Hi Karl
Can we still expect any 189 round this fiscal year?
Thanks
WIth next FY 189 quota cut almost in half it's unlikely.
Hi Karl, even in 2023 - 2024 we had 60k plus allocation for state and regional but federal cut off to 16k will this happen this year too 😟
The allocation number is for visa grants, not for how many invites are going to be issued.
Given last year not many invites are being sent out, let's hope they will raise the number of invites they will send out in the next FY.
what about 407 sub class visa
Hi Karl,
Karl my question is how did they fill 189 visas for 2023-2024 because the number of invites were just 8300 in the entire year while planning levels were 30,375? Is it possible that they might roll over those numbers to 2024-2025?
Similar thing also happened with the regional visa (190/491). My guess is these numbers actually reflect the government target of visa approvals for these fiscal years, regardless of which fiscal year it was logged. But as I said is a guess, I also would love to know how that mathematics works...
Remember they issued a staggering ~56k 189 invites between Aug 2022, Oct 2022 and Dec 2022, also another 5.8k in May 2023 for priority occupations. Even considering the low conversion rate of 50%, still potentially 27000 invites converting into visa applications, which would've eaten the 2023-2024 quota easily. Now you can see how DOHA could potentially use up 30k allocations despite issuing very few invitations.
Karl, Karl, Karl ❤
Hi sir
Thanks for sharing information of 188 A visa .i applied visa 188 A on September 2021. Still there is no case officers assigned for process my application.

I would immediately consult an experienced migration agent or lawyer if I received s57. You probably should do the same.
Thank you! When will the states start inviting?
Hopefully after July or earlier
Hi Karl,
do you think is there any possibility, government will use any allocation of 2024-2025 for 2023-2024 visa approval. i meand the loged subclass 190 and 491 backlog from 2023-2024.
Obviously
@@alexozioma9037
What do you mean. Next year allocation can be used for this year visa approval?
@@asifnoor8787 yeah that's what it ll be used for...
Those backlogs always use up the new quota, thats how the system operates
@@asifnoor8787 the allocation you see is for visa grant numbers, not for how many invites will be issued.
04:13 is from 23 august or november? have a rest karl and team,!!! always give good information, see you on weeked
I got to admit that I'm afraid to hear the news recently. Bad news every day. 😢
Not all bad, good in fact if you want to apply for the 482 visa
No details on 476, which means that thing is finished completely.
Unfortunately it looks that way
DOHA already announced the closure of 476 visas a few days ago on their immiaccount login page. That visa is officially dead.
How much seats should be increased for states... Will criteria be easier next time... What about 189 for non priority as planning levels are reduced but still considerable
We will see the state allocations soon, stay tuned
The government might just use that quota to clear out that 35k Dec 2022 round, thus not issuing any 189 invites at all. We will have to wait and see. That allocation number is not the same as how many invites they will issue.
Expecting 189 invitation in the next FY, especially for non-priority occupations, would be naive in my opinion. Announced 16k refer to primary+secondary applicants. Besides, there is still backlog for 189 from last and this year.
As for 190/491, I would not jump the gun too. Last year, figures were the same but they were cut down with state allocations…
@@estellebright2579 only 7 k of those are left as of now...
@@saadhassan7431 again, my point is we have no way to know how DOHA will issue invites until they do.
let me get this straight, you're telling me that the 190 pr visa is still going to be around 70% reduced compared to 2023?
The 2024-25 permanent Migration Program has been set at a planning level of 185,000 with an approximate 70:30 split between the Skill and Family streams.
Not al all, look at the planning levels again
@@ailsaustralia
i'm confused, my understanding was, that the visa allocations for pr 190 were reduced by around 70% for this round that just passed, these numbers don't seem to be increasing that at all, or maybe i''m just dumb or blind, did the visa allocations for pr 190 increase this upcoming round? didn't it just stay almost the same?
@@admortem8901 the allocation number you see is just for visa grants, and that number has nothing to do with how many invites DOHA allocates to states and territories. That invite number will be released later. Given 190 visa grant number in next FY goes up mildly, there are some hope that next FY there will be more allocations for invites, but we still have to wait and see.
Thanks Karl, to be fair, this is one of the most effective migration programs introduced by the Australian government, genuinely benefiting the future of Australia.
Please elaborate.
@@AmritGrewal31
To fully understand why the current migration situation in Australia is the best it has ever been, one needs to look at both the past and present conditions. Firstly, we need to shut down dodgy institutions that exist solely to give "visas" to people wanting to work here. That's part of the plan, and it's directly related to the rest of the strategy.
Australia, like many other countries, benefits from migration. It boosts our economy. A large migration program is good, and having people come here to study and work is also good. However, it needs to be mutually beneficial, not one-sided.
We don't need random dodgy colleges offering fake degree courses for $4,000 - $6,000 a year to people who only want to work and exploit the system. That's not what Australia’s future requires. We need people in regional areas, workers in specific fields, younger generations, and those with better language skills.
With over 8 billion people in the world, a loose system would allow those who don't fit Australia's future needs to enter and stay. Explaining why this program is the best ever would take an hour-long seminar with slides. If you know, you know, mate.

Should we expect a REDUCED quota for states and territories same like this year (initial figures were 30,000 also) but ended with about 10,000 invitations this FY.
Hope that's not the case but we just have to wait and see.
After getting 482 visa then how long do we need to work to apply for 186 direct entry PR?
Depends upon your employer an dcircumstances, please book a time to discuss
This is sad news for offshore applicants considering that on shore applicants have the upper hand on all visa streams or pathways. As a matter of fact, employers prefer to hire people within Australia. Been waiting to be invited for almost 2 years and with this changes, I finally decided to give up on my Australian dream. Just a piece of advise to those planning to migrate to Australia, don't make any move unless you have chances otherwise you end up losing your hard earned savings like me. I just hope God will curse those individuals trying to suck others money.
@karl - Appreciate your thoughts on this, what are the real chances for offshore applicant for 190/490?
Sir, you have completely ignored state and territory allocation 😅
*will they add 23-24 (190) backlog to 24-25 years allocation??
Allocation*
State and territory allocation details usually will be released after the next financial year starts based on history patterns. That planning level number is just for visa grants, not for how many invites will be issued.
How will this financial year work for 190,491....will they again reduce the quota by 72% or they will distribute all quotas which is 33k to each 190 and 491?? Can you please tell us about that?? Thanks
The migration planning level you see on DOHA website is all about how many visas will be granted in a given financial year, and that number has nothing to do with how many invites they will issue.
While it would be odd, the government can still choose to give 10k invite slots to states and territories for 190 and 491 in the next financial year, or maybe choose to give more. These numbers usually don't get released until after the new financial year begins so we all need to wait.
Now 482 sponsership wil be use as an additional income for the business.
I will tel my story
I have come to ausi 2019 and completed my degree in one of the leading university spending lot of money.
Then started a job in my related field.. after completion of one year. My visa expires Sep ,2024 and I wil be turn 45 next April,
On the otherhand , a friend of my employer was sponserd by my employer for 482 visa from his home country. That time the TSMT requirement was there and my employer said as he has already planing to bring his friend dont let anybody to apply to that postion.
Anyhow he brought his friend under 482 and last year 2023,
With the new changes he is gona be the luckiest to get the PR without any pain,I am stil in Limbo😭😭
Hurt to hear that buddy. Hope something good comes to you
Remember, when they published the report on immigration overhaul?
They wanted to:
(1) get rid of permanently-temporary limbo that migrants were stuck in,
(2) and simplify the skilled immigration pathway
Now, after having no invitation rounds (other than medical) since Dec 2022, they've halved the Skilled independent visa quota (the only visa that could achieve both of their targets).
😂 makes about as much sense as neglecting natural immunity
Only promises like always the important is keep temporary migrants for long time as much they can .
Agreed.. but I think there will be 189 rounds for non priority as it's backlog is low
@@saadhassan7431 mate, after the decisions of this government that we've all seen, I doubt it. What you're saying is the logical next step, this government believes in the meme: "don't let them know your next move". This government seems idiotically illogical.
