I so agree with Suzanne. The amount of mental stress and anxiety around this age cap is crazy.
Absolute insanity to make such a policy
Age brings experience, experience brings maturity, maturity brings stability. Many professions need qualification and experience both to become an expert for eg. Teachers. Young age of 35 brings opportunistic nature. Means once the target is achieved majority of them will leave the field and will move somewhere else with better future. 45 is the perfect age, even in some fields it should be upto 50.
Yes there is a need for flexibility in the system that is not there now
Absolutely
Age also bring rigidness not to assimilate into the country and bring baggage at times (extended family) who also migrate only because of a sole talent.
True.
Heard its easier to manipulate and exploit people ages 25 and under.
I just graduated with a PhD a few months ago and I agree with the raised point - the government invested close to $250k in my education, and is now ready to kick out people like us. My research was in digital health, which will only grow in importance in the coming years, but we’re apparently only seen as a burden. PhD students are expected to conduct high quality research and present their findings in international forums, and that’s not even considered as skilled work for skills assessment. So what exactly does the government mean when they say they need “skilled people”?
Basically anyone that can be underpaid and has little to no rights. While conveniently contributing significantly to the economy and the greater society.
Which group that we can join to sign a petition?
We should be taking as many of the brightest people we can find and for Phd graduates it should be all of them. Of course we also need the trades people just as much
What they mean is uneducated refugees
@@ailsaustraliathe majority of Australians want people like you to stay
Karl, if everything goes well with these 485 issues, I'll definitely come to you for my future visa consultation. I think by far you are the only one advocating for international students while others just post videos for scaring students
I know I'm not the only one, but as far as UA-cam content makers go, yes it is frustrating to see so many scared to challenge the DOHA
You are our hero, Karl. I can't express how helpful your content is to us. I share your content with students, and we look forward to your videos.
Thanks so much!
You are our light in the other side of the tunnel in this darkest phase of our lives in Australia. I have completed the final seminar of my PhD and have lodged the thesis for external examination. I will most definitely not complete my PhD before July and being above 35 years, I am deeply concerned by the current immigration news of not issuing us TR to stay work here. In that case, I will have go back home. My two sons are studying here for the last 5 years and will struggle to continue study back home since they are out of touch with our language for these many years. Further, I have done very relevant research concerning the housing crisis and was hoping to contribute to addressing the ongoing crisis. And I have studied on the University scholarship which means it would be a total loss to Australia to send me back after spending so much on me and making me capable of doing something extremely helpful to the ongoing housing crisis. I am in complete stress because of the recent news and hopelessly hoping for some miracles to happen and give some sense to those involved in bringing out this kind of unrealistic and unfathomable policies. May good sense prevail!!!
As I approach the completion of my Master's degree this semester, I am feeling the pressure of my upcoming exams, with results scheduled to be released on July 4th. I have reached out to both my faculty Dean and the Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, seeking their assistance with this matter.
Thank you for the video!
Thanks for your support, keep pressing them as much as you can
Has the University offered to do anything to speed up the process?
I share the same sentiment as Suzanne. Since the news about the 485 visa was released, it has been challenging to concentrate on our studies. I am also pursuing my education at James Cook University, Townsville campus. I appreciate Suzanne for speaking on behalf of all of us who are pursuing bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degrees and are over 35 years of age.
I urge you to do the same thing by emailing your area MP and vice-chancellor. I did mine already. It won’t help much if we rely on one person like Suzzane to act on our behalf. The more people send the concern, the more effective it will be. Are you willing to advocate too?
Yes she did a great job expressing her feelings and concerns. There is still hope you so try and concentrate on your studies
Why is everyone complaining?
The 485 allows up to 50 years old.
@@RUHappyATM This might be because you haven't read or watched any news since last December. The government abruptly change the limit from 50 to 35. They discount 15 years without thinking about students who are already here
Hi, I am one of the international students affected by the new 485 age limit. Thanks for your video that lets me I know that there is still hope. I was already over 40 years old when I was thinking about getting a master's degree somewhere, I made the decision to come to study in Australia partially because I can accumulate overseas working experience here via the post-study working visa. With the money, time and efforts and everything that I invested into my education here, I just felt so helpless, so frustrated, and started to question my decision to come here, when the Australian government suddenly closed the door of 485 visa for me, when I'm just one year away from my graduation. I hope there will be amends to this policy, and all the best to all the fellow students who are affected by this policy, and thank you so much for sharing all the information with us!
I am currently in the final semester of my Master of Data Science program. Our final results will be released on July 8, but the new transition for the 485 visa age limit will apply from July 1. This means that, just for one week, people like me will lose the opportunity to gain job experience after working hard to pass university courses and earn our degrees. It is unfair because we were not aware of this new rule when we started our studies two years ago.
Advice:
Email your vice chancellor, email your local MP and senators.
Do what Suzzane has done in this video.
If you do nothing, it will not help
I really feel for those individuals stressed over the 485. The same ideology is applied to applicants to permanency visas, or those aged 45yo or over. You don’t qualify, and only option is to seek a TSS482 skilled migrant for 4yrs. But no longer qualify for transitional arrangement to permanency on that. Seriously. Are the Australian Government openly stating at aged 35, 45. Your to old work, to study, to contribute to the economy in meaningful ways. When you still have anywhere between 20-30 years of working age left in you before retirement. It’s shockingly agest and highly discriminatory. Where I’m from it would even be illegal.
It should be illegal here too. Thanks for your comment
Thanks Karl and Suzanne to advocate for all of us! I'm affected by this age cut too and I'm just disgusted how governments get away with lying and never face any consequences for their unjust acts. I hope their will be a good outcome otherwise I will have wasted 4 years of my life and can start from scratch. My skillset is highly specialised to Australia, pretty much useless back home. This is just insanity
Anyway, have you sent an email to your local MP? Can't just rely on Suzzane to do everything. I've sent a bunch of emails to my local MPs too. The more people advocate, the higher the chance our effort is heard.
It is insanity and so sorry you have been affected also. Stil hope as the pressure mounts
I'm very much stressed with the 485 changes on the age limit that I can't even concentrate on my assessments and exams! I have signed the petition and looks like Immi changed it today, but still excluding the students over 35 yo doing master by coursework! Is there hope us?
Every day we hear some bad news. Australian government is acting like a business owner complaining about getting a lot of customers Lol
They treat visas as product so... hardly surprising on that front.
Thanks Karl for speaking up for us who are impacted by this change. Nobody else in my class even care about this and my uni is also quite. Are there anyone else in Adelaide metro and we can make protest at Parliament house to raise our concern?
Yes m from Adelaide
The government don't even put some things in consideration before putting stupid law that doesn't favour anyone. Just last year they made everything better now they're putting people into depression. 🤦🏿♂️
MIA is collecting stories from migration agencies about PhD candidates who have been impacted by the age cap, but there doesn't seem to be any attention given to coursework Master's students. Hopefully, the legacy clause applies to all currently enrolled students.
Hi AILS,
Are you planning to do a video on the updated permanent visa processing times? It just jumped 25% to 15months. Is it because the financial year quota has been exhausted? If yes then planning from the department was poor indeed.
Australia has been know for its value of respecting human rights and practising it to make difference. They should put age cap on students completing their education in 2024, that’s contract to its values.
Should not
Thanks for that clarification and yes Australia has a proud history of being fair to everyone which is a chame to see that tarnished now
Australia is supporting a genocide right know and before they sent soldiers to torture and murder civilians in Iraq and Afganistan. They only respect human rights inside australia but outside they are monsters, same as usa and uk.
Honestly the proposed changes should have happened 10 years ago. But because of how drastic this is, it largely disadvantages new students and existing visa holders already onshore.
Because why would anyone allow >550K people into the country in 1 FY when you already know there's a housing crisis? To boost the economy and stimulate the property market (that's literally it). It's also unfair to new students and immigrants who were obviously unaware how bad the rental market truly is.
But it came at the expense of disadvantaging young Australian graduates and any first home buyers. It's not fair to these groups who are now more anti-immigrant than I've ever seen them before.
A country should protect its citizens first and clearly the government has learned from how a mismanagement of immigration has led to a lower quality of life in Canada.
So I understand these changes but because of how radical they are, I sympathise towards prospective migrants.
@@Dakar-c3f Technical recession, sure - immigration prevented that. But we're living in a recession per capita (meaning more people - especially the average person - is living a more financially difficult life today than 5 years ago).
If you ask how Australia, as a country, makes money, it's literally mining (minerals, oil and LNG), agriculture and tertiary education (international students).
The construction industry is lobbying against these migration restrictions because they are desperate for workers to be able to build new housing to keep up with demand.
They are refusing to acknowledge that they are bankrupt. They have offended their economic partners ( China), and their resources were depleted during the two-year COVID-19 lockdown. They needed a way to get money, and the solution was students. They are acting scammy, and at this point, they are proving they have zero integrity.
Now Australia should announce globally that they won’t be taking international students who are 30-35 year old, as they won’t be granting 485 what’s the point of wasting so much of money on their education system and not being able to get the post study work experience!! That’s literally annoying !
You get an education. That’s the point
@@divyanshd3969 but you don’t get the experience of working after all that education and that’s even worse what’s the point of hanging the certificate on the wall.
@@LadyLavender_ you can get that in your home country so not all cause is lost. Of course it’s not ideal but keep in mind Australian universities are some of the finest in the world. Unless you go tafe or some dodgy institution
The issue at hand concerns the misuse of student visas in Australia. Unfortunately, some individuals are taking advantage of these visas as a means to enter the country with the primary goal of living and working here, rather than pursuing education This misuse affects the integrity of the student visa system.
To address this issue, we must implement stricter regulations and enforcement measures surrounding student visas. By doing so, we can ensure that these visas are used for their intended purpose of education rather than as a backdoor entry to the job market. This will not only protect the integrity of our immigration system but also safeguard the interests of our citizens and the strength of our economy.
What do you think about the PhD students who are usually starting their PhD in their 30s? These PhDs are certainly serious about their academic life and have measured the pros and cons of their study only to have the door slammed to their face without having the chance to pursue a postdoc and building a research portfolio. These students got caught in the crossfire because some people misuse the student visa?
Great Karl, Thanks for your weekly edition I learnt alot. Keep up the good work as always. Warren.
Thanks Warren, much appreciated
As a mature professional in Cybersecurity, I've invested heavily in furthering my education, particularly at a Group of Eight university. With 10+ years of experience and a clear goal to contribute to the job market, the sudden imposition of an age cap on visa subclass 485 is disheartening. I humbly ask policymakers to reconsider the impact on individuals like myself who are poised to contribute meaningfully to the workforce and economy.
Try emailing your local MP, senators, and vice chancellor like Suzzane did. I did it a couple of days ago and received at least one reply. Asking them via youtube comment won't do much. We can do little things and hope that it can make a difference.
A lot people are having depression because of this 485 visa. The immigration is showing no mercy!
you can apply for skills in demand if your skill/job is in the skill occupation list
I wonder how these Ministers look themselves in the mirror in the morning. Let's hope they have some empathy for the pain they have caused
My sister developed migraine recently because she and her husband are one of the many people affected by this new 485 visa change. She can’t sleep worrying about what to do next as they are approaching the end of their student visa this year and she is getting depressed 😢
The immigration of any country shows no mercy, but there has to be room for sympathy. Everyone is unique in their own right, and for countries like Australia touting support of human rights, I can hardly give a pass to this kind of brutal policy change affecting lawful non-citizens.

I'm sharing the same situation with Suzanne. Done research beneficial to the Australia industry, same age, have a career planned in Australia and writing my final part for my PhD thesis. The change of the age limit is really devastating for me and also for many of my colleagues whose PhD works benefit Australia industries. Hopefully the response received by Suzanne from the Philip Thompson office is true. Otherwise, many of us will have no idea what to do because neither we have much time left to come up with a new plan, nor be able to make a new plan.
What university are you in? Our university is currently joining forces of all phds to advocate for our phd' right
Thank you for this, I really hope the government reconsider about this age limits, mostly for students that are already studying here in Australia.. the news of this new policy is really depressing.. I am affected too

Hopefully the MP is able to convince her colleagues to see reason. Would you know when these legislative amendments are due? Can we expect any voice on this from the budget on Tuesday?
me also affected with this. I am doing my masters and will complete it on 15th of July. I am already over 35. I paid international fees of mine and my 7 year old daughter as well. Something that I am scared about is the government, we have rights! Yea... The right to pay and shut up. That is how I feel.
We have the right to free speech in this country and everyone should exercise that right
There was a condition that when we enrolled the study program in Australia we will get the 485 post study work permit, which would allow us to finish our industrial training or JRP. and we enrolled the study program in Australia, and now they are changing the Age rules for current students, which is completely unfair. In fact, the current government has increased the post study work limit earlier.
This is humble request to the government please think about current students.
Yes you are right, they need to think long and hard about what they are proposing to do here

PhD students are very limited in numbers in every country. So I believe there shouldn’t be any age restriction on PhD students
I know such small numbers but so much damage, but dont forget everyone else too
Sorry to be blunt but when someone comes to study in Australia there is an expectation to return back once studies are finished. International students write this on their application - I want to study *** so I can get a job back in my country etc. Rules can change at any time including working hours and post study work rights etc. I agree exceptional students such PhD should stay no matter age but there are just too many students who have ruined the system and there is a high chance post study working rights will be wound back. What Australians are seeing is huge congestion and massive rental increases and the finger pointing is directly at international students, it’s the non genuine ones who should be expediently told to leave as they have ruined the social license for international students in Australia.
disagree, International students, particularly mature ones with valuable skills and experience, play a significant role in our society. Blaming them for issues like the housing crisis is unjust. and It is unfair discrimination to exclude them from opportunities for post-graduate visas based on factors like age, which they cannot control. I certainly won't vote for Labour that just playing the "blame game" instead of addressing issues properly.
@@hoomantayefehjafari4707 agree to an extent but as said only exceptional international students such as PhD students play an important in Australian society. Going forward the selection of international students will need to be highly selective and we can’t have this open slather unlimited students policy studying Mickey Mouse courses in order to work cash in hand jobs or them working zombie industries. As a country Australia needs to prioritize Australian citizens and youth in the housing and jobs market. We can’t continue having these record rent increases going forward and demand for rentals from international students is placing immense pressure on the affordable rental market. Also international students in the USA have limited opportunity in accessing jobs market, we are extremely generous in Australia.
Agree. Imagine there are students who do not care about education and spend most of their student visa working and making minimum effort in studying. Then run out of time and apply for a 485 extension and do another study just for the sake of PR without genuinely studying. Then because of that the door is slammed shut and PhD students who spent most of their time doing research and publishing academic papers are caught in the crossfire..
Interesting that you say exceptional students such as PhDs should be able to stay, because with these proposed changes nearly 50% of post-grad research students will be impacted (Masters + PhD). Since PhDs are generally older than Masters, it's very likely that even more than 50% of PhD students will be impacted. So the government is selectively excluding their most skilled migrants with this change. Not to mention those who have received government scholarships, which can total more than $250,000 of taxpayer money. The public is investing in their education and then the government is removing all means of getting a return on that investment. Insane.
@@suzh665 have no problems with exceptional PhD staying as to undertake PhD is quite a task. A major problem is non genuine students that are purely interested to work who risk genuine students (e.g. PhD) studying or staying.
Hi eveyone who is reading the comment section. My visa was refused back in March. Now my university has asked to reapply instead of issuing a COE and the agency that was representing me said that the university cant take up my case. Any advice on how to move forward so that i can secure an offer letter again? (I had deposited the 1st-semester fee ). Appreciate any input here TIA
Thank you so much, Karl. You are one of the best advocates. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I totally agree with what suzaan said. Why would the government invest such a big amount of money on phds if they dont want their service. Most of the phds who graduate before 35 have started their phd immediately after bachelors and does not have any experience at all. Most of those very young phds have started phds because they couldn't find a a job😂. This is very unfair to the truly skilled phds who have spent there age to develop the skills.
Have you emailed the local MP, like Suzzane did?
Thank you for info Karl 🙏🏻 is there any news for student subsequent visa ?? I mean dependent visa like The UK ?? No more dependent!
Fitness is more important than age..... some professional with high age but good fitness are more valuable if they compensate experiences with age ....

I think they will, here's for positive thinking
PLEASE confirm this.....485 (TR) is only for 35 and under is it? Even for onshore once?

Much appreciated, thank you
The sad thing about the recent changes is that it is reflective of a really negative perception of the industry by the Dept and Minister, we are entitled to expect better from our elected representatives and our public services
Yes, I agree. This age limit decision of 485 visa is awful discrimination for international students because we brought our family members in Australia in order to gain international education. We arrived in Australia by spending big money because we aimed to implement our families' the biggest dreams in here. 😢😢😢 I hope that Australian government will not refuse current international students, who have already started to study in Australia.

Ten years ago before I came to Australia, I saw many Australian citizens had lived in Cambodia for dozen years because housing in Australia was too expensive.... Why all sudden blaming international students for existing problems failed to solve for decades???
After announcing the planning levels coming Tuesday, can we expect 190 grants? Or is it only going to be after July 1st if at all?
We saw some commencement for trade occupations last week - the DHA website and ministerial direction says they would be going serially for non priority cases but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Lodged last week of May 2023, going to be a year now - frustrating wait.
Me too, I lodged 23rd of May last year and waiting frustratingly since.
Hoping for your visa to be granted soon.
Hi Karl, Its a question about 491 visa. I've heard that a person is allowed to work remotely for a company located in a metropolitan city area under 491 visa. My question is, are they allow such a visa holder to work for a foreign company with the same arrangement.?(Working from home for a US company while living in a regional area)
Hard to understand a logic from this age cap applying to current students. Wondering if they were saying about many of them effected OR a little of them? If it was about a little of them then how those a little group of people causing to inflation and with what impact? By getting them out how by mean immigrants number lowers in what percentage?
There is no logic here to be found, it is pure vidictiveness against international students who have supported this country when we needed help the most.
What about those who aare living here for more than 10 years and there spouses who were not students ..they will becoming students
While I feel sorry for those suffering under the changes, the system was clearly broken. Half a million international students arriving in 12 months has been clearly detrimental to Australians in the rental market.
1 million EVERY YEAR CAN YOU IMAGING THAT
There are many studies revealed that there is no housing crisis due to International students.
Once the government boosted up the economy after covid by accepting tons of students, suddenly they realized that it is affecting the system. What a joke!!! Either the were not futuristic or it was planned!
Very true
It's funny that many rentals are used as Air B&B which is one of the main factors that contribute to rental crisis for profit gain but I don't hear y'all talking about this? And majority of the students get student accommodation provided by unis. Make it make sense.
Thank you Karl for all ur efforts... 🙏

I'm extremely concerned about the age cap of 35!
Thanks in advance again!
I thought the video was quite clear? Did you not see the interview where Suzzane is doing what she can to advocate for current students? Also Karl is suggesting people contact their local MP to help with advocating..
As being half way of our life what should we do now?...when, we look back there is nothing and here also they pushing us to go back. For me no idea what i am gonna do! ONLY 6% of international students are above 35 age and rest is under 35.....why this 6% is causing this much discomfort for Australia why they didn't think about when they approving student visa's above 30's. It should be pre-plan change so that one can think before investing time, money and most important dream.
Hi Karl, it was nice and fantastic the way you are putting up the voice of those to be affected by age restriction under 485 visa. Equally, I would like to add that, we are in the same boat as my wife is pursuing the masters course from ECU and she had reached 35 this year, with 1 year still to go for completion of course. After such announcements of 35 age limit, we are really in stress along with other colleagues in the same boat. So, can I also write a similar mail to my local MP (Mr. Josh Wilson), stating the issue as when we came in these rules were not at all in place and we are feeling cheated badly. Looking forward to your suggestions please. Thanks a lot.
There will not be any transitional periods, i guarantee you. Government just wants to be cruel this time. Still, in no time people will forget the cruelty they're bringing upon us in the next few years.
And the cycle keeps repeating.

Hello Karl, I am currently in Australia as a student ( dependent ) I am currently in the process of applying for a Student Visa onshore to so i can also study.
Hoping the I will be approved 🥹❤️
What does this mean, for VET students? Can someone explain to me please im having anxiety
Suzanne can now stay based on new rules 🎉
I am a teacher who is going to study for a master's degree in Australia this coming July. Seeing the news on the age change totally disappoints me... I will be turning 36 by the time I graduate. It is completely unfair for those who have already sacrificed so much to pursue their dreams overseas and those who are willing to contribute what they have learnt to their professional fields. We shouldn't be treated like this.
We are hoping of course they will bring in a transition arrangement on this issue. Stay tuned
hi Carl, do u think there will be another 189 round, or will they scrap that one as well
Discriminating on the grounds of age gender race and orientation is illegal. When you set caps etc its just wrong.
Yes there are times caps should not be used
Australia is a country that has no guarantee
No its reputation is now useless thanks to this government
Thank you Karl!
Welcome!
i honestly hope there's some proactive role taking place, rather than legislative reforms, to seeing the human side of things. this is quite expected being a developed country.
Severe depression and tensions among families who have invested in this country after the promises of 3-5 years graduate visa. After Covid just to attract students they promised something and now within a year went back. All the students who are 35 very much skilled, qualified and experienced just lost out on their dreams and finances only to be ‘collateral damage’ for a ‘better’ Australia. The other streams they keep quoting for student over 35 is not a viable option for many. I hope Minister Andrew Giles has a change of mind and does something for existing students who has inputted in the last few years.
Are you affected by this,? Do something like Suzzane did. Write an email to your local PM, senators, and uni vice chancellor. The worst thing is that those who are affected do nothing to advocate for this..
@@rl2388 I have...contacted Uni Vice-chancellor, local MPs, signed petitions even wrote to Andrew Giles via the Immigration website. Day and night instead of focusing on my final semester I brain storm wondering who else to contact, who can vocal this so students like me or even worse than me are not tortured anymore. The only thing uni can do is issue a predictive completion letter which is not even accepted by Department of Home Affairs. My results can only be released officially by 17th July as this is the University policy they need to abide by. Everyday I call Immigration only for them to say it affects current students too or wait till 1st July - it doesn't matter to them if I am unemployed and have bills to pay.
Wow.. the immigration says it affects the current student or they are not sure about it yet?
@@rl2388 they themselves are not sure..most of them said keep checking the website but us students and families are going through daily torture and it is too late to wait till 1st of July spending more money without being able to apply for jobs just for our worst fears to be re-confirmed. Can't blame them as they are just doing their job!
@@sapnasam4961 I totally understand, I am in the same position. It is a torture. Everyday I wake up thinking what the heck I am I doing here just to be kicked out right after I graduate. If they told students before they came, I would pick another country to do my study.
Karl, I came to CDU with funding from my country. Paid approximately AUD100k in advance. I am likely to finish my Phd next year. The money and time I have invested here would have been better spent elsewhere if I know I won't be able to stay. I am 40 this year.
It is a terrible situation and lets see what can be done
Desert Australia arid lands Can be converted into cultivable lands by technology and growing industry.... more rooms for immigrants... and Australian development
Karl I've seen a lot of the comments in the social media saying : Australia is full don't come, is it really from Australian.
There are always the hatters if migrants, just ignore them.
Karl you have been a great support to thousand of students like me who are affected. Could you also start an online petition which we all who follow your channel can sign 🙏
I urge you to do the same thing by emailing your area MP and vice-chancellor. I did mine already. It won’t help much if we rely on one person like Suzzane to act on our behalf. The more people send the concern, the more effective it will be. Are you willing to advocate too?
We have started one but it yet to be approved to go live. When it does we will certainly let everyone know, thanks
@@rl2388 I have written last month only and got reply too. My MP is from Greens Party though.
@@rl2388 I have already written to my local MP about a month ago and got his reply too. But he belongs to Greens Party. I have written to my university VC and head of schools today.
@@rl2388 reahed out to ous student welfare today...to see if they can do soemthing...

Thanks Hasitha as always
Hello Karl ! I have already applied for my student visa before the increase in funds required for living for international students .will the increase have any impact on my profile .also all these changes that are coming up now will they also have any effect on? I really appreciate the work you put in to bring us all the info .cant thank you enough!!!!
No those who have already applied before the 10th of May will not be affected
@@ailsaustralia thank you for your response Karl! Appreciate it .i did find the answer to my question in your video as well !!keep up the good work .
I’m really appreciate the effort you are taking to speak abt international students, I’m doing Masters and completing it end of August, I’m 36 now and really disappointed about this rules and can’t even focus on studies now, I had higher marks for all the units I had and but now I feel like I won’t be able to continue the same coz my focus is gone just because of this age limit issue, university also silent regarding this matter.
I urge you to do the same thing by emailing your area MP and vice-chancellor. I did mine already. It won’t help much if we rely on one person like Suzzane to act on our behalf. The more people send the concern, the more effective it will be. Are you willing to advocate too? Have you sent any email to the uni vice chancellor?
For now there is still hope that there does exist some humanity in the labout government. Concentrate on your studies as much as you can
Felt every sentence that she said, crippled with anxiety at the time that I need my full brain capacity 😐
I know its is such cruel thing to do to any student that needs to concentrate on the academic performance
Why DHA hold 491 visa grants ? waiting for federal budget? or next FY ? or for planning level confirmation ?
they are holding all visas including 190. I guess they are running out of quotas
My doubts:
1) My KAPS skill nominated Retail Pharmacist and Hospital Pharmacist. Can I claim my points for experience as an Industrial Pharmacist without additional skill assessment through vetassess? Because in the points calculator it says - Closely-related occupations here are in the same ANZSCO Unit Group, Please give me some advice.
2) I have a total of 4 years and 9 months experience.
I have experience as Retail Pharmacist and Industrial Pharmacist, Do I need to do another skill assessment to claim that Industrial Experience?
3) OR I can claim only retail experience, because it is only nominated occupation.

I work with overseas students who come into the country to study a course at University or they come into the country married fresh from finishing their course to start a new life here. But yet take jobs which are suited for people with low income. Yet they end up working in small jobs instead of their chosen field. I hav3 a son at Uni and the general feed back I hear from students is they get thrown in group activities with migrants students who can’t speak English well. So that stuffs up Australian students getting ahead because there’s lots of stress in trying to incorporate overseas students with little English to their Uni study dead lines.
Generalisation is a bitch. Same like you, I can say all the local students I studied were dumb as rocks and had no idea of critical thought.
How did they even get eligibility to go to Uni. Yet they can't communicate in English sufficiently. Flabbergast me.
This new changes, impact current students and their families bring to trauma. This is very unfair and non-humanitarian move.
Yes it is by far one of the cruelest acts ever proposed by the immigration department. Thanks for your comment and support
A country that takes a month for a Transit visa will.take a good chunk of your life if you plan a stay there
I lodged my student visa (500)file on 8 January 2024,Stanley college, when I expect result because all ready 4 months are passed?
Not sure these days but the smaller providers are taking longer
Karl also make video on 476. Subsequent entrants should still be allowed to lodge visas even though visa is closed. Australian government is breaking families and causing divorces.
We did but it seems they were not perpared to listen as applicants were offshore. We are sorry we could not do more
Hey Carl, whats the chance of skills in demand visa replacing 407 training visa coming into place before december?
Hard to say but I cannot see it replacing the 407
Students need to remember that Australia, at some point, did this to international students. I dont think this is something I WILL EVER FORGET!
Your right it is something everyone should remember, the most inhumae act ever inflicted upon our temporary residents of Australia!
