@@obelix_gaul absolutely true I see many malayalis doing business in Mysore , Bangalore and many other places. I wonder how easily they set up a business outside their state.

there is no country in the world that thrived on socialism and communism. Yet people don't have a brain to think whats good for them. Its capitalism that makes a country rich although it has its own flaws.
As a Keralite and Think School subscriber, this video was what I was dreading for the past 2 years. I knew this was coming. If you're wondering why this is happening to Kerala despite high education, health, literacy, low income inequality, etc. then yes, the leftist governments have focused on educating everyone and providing basic services for all people. However, the're always anti-business. So we're a state where everyone gets educated but they can't get a job because there are no businesses. So the Keralite youth is forced to migrate to other states and countries. They pay their taxes over there. They spend their money there. So how can a state generate revenue where there are less businesses, most of their people work outside Kerala and pay taxes outside Kerala?
Bro ,when comparing with other states we have some disadvantages estblishing big businesses,30 percent of our land belongs to western ghats ,so we cannot efficiently use that ,and in rest part people live in congestion, the population density of Kerala is the highest among states,so the land availability is so less, and the average wage in Kerala is truly high,so Kerala is not a suitable place for many businesses.
Thanks for bringing this up man. A politician from Kerala said that CPM used to deliver food to patients who come to hospital when asked why there are less medical supplies 😂 Note : Her name is Chintha jerome

As a Keralite now settled and working in Mumbai, it became very easy to understand the stark differences. Here in Maharashtra I see massive push into infrastructure building and long term strategy, Kerala also needs to relook at the long term game and decide strategy, there was a statement that only Tourism and IT are major drivers for Kerala GDP. Might need to look into creation and expansion of other sectors to enhance revenue generation and minimize borrowings. For all this ,political will is crucial, Hope better sense prevails when we see 4th June LS results

When did you settle and work in Mumbai? You must have got transferred to Mumbai. Also Companies are leaving Maharashtra, Maharashtra isn't growing properly.
I am from Kerala, the situation is here is very worse than anyone can imagine, despite this financial crisis, the state government does unwanted extravaganza for events like Keraleeyam, Nava Kerala Sadas, F2F etc... all events cost more than 200crores and this was done during the time when, poor old people were not given ₹1600 pension, salary to KSRTC, govt employees etc..., no basic products like rice, wheat etc in shops, the govt hospitals are yet to pay several crores to surgical distributors. When common people like us question, they either threaten, beat or kill. A student by the name Siddharthan was killed in Pookode by the ruling party's student union, the CM is taking steps to protect his party members, in Kasaragod, a family couldn't take coconuts from their own land (ruling party members came and harrassed them), all vice chancellors in college/University are representatives of the ruling communist party and when governor questioned, the student organisation mentioned earlier attacked the governor. Kerala is not at all a safe place, we feel threatened and helpless. All basic amenities like electricity, water also, rates have been increased drastically. All this, the CM and the ruling party are facing allegations of looting from a company for minerals from the state. This is the CMRL exalogic case. Proof of any of the above, ready to submit.
Meanwhile the left funded/left leaning malayalam medias will play it down or blame it on the Centre while analyzing, dissecting, disseminating and discussing even a Sanghis fart in UP for weeks.
Bro this is the state of West Bengal right now, it was worse in the communist days. The sad truth is that these politicians form a cartel in the system, from which they are very difficult to uproot from.
As a Keralite, I must express my dismay. The people of Kerala deserve better. They trusted the LDF and now they're suffering. Not a single educated minister in this supposedly educated state! Corruption pervades every corner, and the state government shamelessly claims credit for the central government's initiatives. Even the Chief Minister's daughter is embroiled in controversy, which is why when the PM visits Kerala, he panders to them. If news breaks that the Kerala CM has been arrested, it wouldn't shock anyone; after all, he's been involved in shady dealings like the Lavalin case. The ruling party manipulates the youth, turning them against Congress and BJP. Let's not forget, this party has even protested against computers and manufacturing facilities, turning Kerala into a mere consumer state with exorbitant taxes.
Just watch how our ministers speak in English. At least watch our education minister. he cant even read a four digit number. then you people can understand the reality. Literacy rate is not the tool to identify the knowledge of a particular state. It just indicates how many people of the state know to read and write.
Kerala has the most educated people. But, no employability. People are ready only for white collar jobs. Every family is mininum middle class and have good Financial stability. I think Ganeshprasad Sridharan has some hidden agenda here; he's just trying to create 'Kerala Story Part 2' for intellectuals. Just as in Part 1, it was based on fake numbers, this story is too. There are many states in India that have more debt as a percentage of their state GDP, but none of them are being arm-twisted by the central government by not helping them out in this crisis. It's just the central government trying to get back at the Kerala state for not voting them into power. If the state funds dry out, the people who will not receive salaries will be in distress, and in that distress, they will lash out at their state government. Then the BJP might have a chance to get voted in. *He doesn't explain all these hidden agendas from the central government, like why is the central government helping those states that have more debt as a percentage of their state GDP than Kerala, just because they have a ruling government in their?* He is just another guy who appears to be neutral but subtly pushes the big brother's agenda forward. No one is neutral now, especially when the elections are just around the corner.
Delhi also has a lot of free services but instead of bankruptcy, Delhi is one of the few states to get a fiscal surplus that is we are a profitable state. Do not cloud your vision, BJP tried to the same in our state but AAP govt proved to be right, and now they are doing everything in power to destroy Delhi govt. This is a problem in Delhi because a lot of central agencies are in the hands of BJP. Remember, kerela's contribution to GDP is very high yet they get very less of the share, same like Delhi. But states like UP and Bihar they get a lot of share of GDP but contribute very less.
half of kerala government revenue goes to pay high pension 1600( kerala gov)+400( panchayath )+200( central gov) And too much government employees are recruiting by psc and they had high salaries when compared to other states.. The subsidized electricity, paying salaried of aided school teaches are another expenses... I don't think Karnataka spends that much on freebies
Thanks a **** lot for this video. I am a keralite and the communists have ruined my state, just like W. Bengal. Kerala should have been the crown jewel of India due to our high literacy and health indicators... Extremely wrong financial decisions have screwed our state. Imagine this, the idiot who made a strike against ISRO is the education minister now.... And I don't understand why the Supreme Court is intervening in this...this is directly against the Finance commission, FRBM act etc. Now every state will quote SC and ask for money even if they don't keep financial discipline.
Actually, West Bengal was ignored by the Congress government, the communists fucked up the industries and now this government is the worst doing absolutely nothing but giving pennies to poor ass people. The only good thing the communists ever did was provide education.
SC isn’t intervening in any matter. It was Kerala Govt who went to SC against CG. And after listening all arguments, ball is in CG court. SC just told, not ordered them to consider for a bail* package for Kerala bcoz if any states fall, eventually it’s part of India who is falling, so it’s not good for either side. Let’s see how CG reacts. If CG has already released a package, I don’t know about it.
Hi! Great work guys. One feedback I would like to give is that whenever you are deep-diving into a segment which is a major hitter of your segment, can you just represent them with some vertical stacked graph and similarly when you are deep diving into that category more you can use another chart. The reason for this is because when I watch the case study in one-go, I loose context and have to go backwards to find why we are exploring this topic. Otherwise, phenomenal job!
I am from Kerala and all that is covered in this video is 50% of the problem. The other 50% is corruption at its finest. I hope the people of Kerala will one day start using their literate brain to actually understand what the Kerala government has accomplished with the money they have received and borrowed so far.
But your CM said in India today interview that corruption in Kerala is way less and going to eradicate it. I mean isn't the politics of kerala progressive or it's just a mask of false promises?
@@har_7988 by the end of his term there wont be anything left in the treasury. With an empty treasury there will not be any room for corruption. So you can believe our honourable CM
Corrupt politicians are there across the country, because you may not have lived in other states you may not know how corrupt other states are. I have lived in three states , MH (Pune), TN (Chennai) and Kerala (Calicut)- take my word for it, Kerala is the most livable state. KL is deprived of central funding coz opposite ideology govt sits in centre, which makes sure funding meant for states like KL is diverted to BJP ruled states. This happens even during calamities which KL has faced a lot. KL is suffering from a reservation like phenomenon wherein states doing well are sucked out and that funding is poured into poorly performing states (indirectly means corrupt and so highly inefficient). Why do you think migrants are entering in KL in thousands everyday? It is indirectly coz per capita income (real) is higher in KL, compared to any other state in India. Looking at how natural resources are depleted in other states inclined to capitalism, you should be thankful that you still have clean air, water and soil - which most of Malyali's I believe take pride in and other state people are suffering from lack of it.

While there are improvements in certain areas, such as reduced interest payments relative to revenue and a slightly lower committed expenditure percentage, challenges remain, particularly in managing deficits and increasing capital expenditure to spur growth and development. It is doing moderately well compared to other states, but the unemployment rate is still very high. What are your views?
Why there is unemployment? Can everyone get a govt job? Is govt is to govern or do business? How govt gets the money? -TAX How people gets money? Any kind of job and business Who created job opportunity? - company that needs talent for their company to make a product or service What govt can do to increase employment? - nothing, because they are running because of us the people, Then why the hell govt tell they will increase employment opportunity in their election manifesto? - govt can make some subsidy, tax reduction, favourable conditions, infrastructure to make it attractive for companies and business to run in their state. Which indirectly increase the employment opportunities. So the govt is lie to us ? -No they not untill they are building infrastructures and many exceptions and other things that will make your state look attractive for business to cherish with much profit for the business, If your govt not doing anything like that then yeah then those guys are telling lie😂 if they do all these sort of things then they are really caring about it atleast according to their manifesto Then why still we have unemployment ? - because of us the people. We are the main problem for all our unemployment. Why we all asking for job rather than facilities to start a business? Why you not start a business and give job for 10 people? Why all shouting for job but not for a corridor for business development? Why people scold all business men and telling govt doing everything favourable for them while that favorable is going to give 1000 of job openings? Why you don't have the mentality to start a business? Why we all Indians are thinking like slaves to do the job for other people while not ready to take a risk to start a business? Why we all are still being in the mindset that British development in our ancestors that getting a job is safe rather than doing a business while you always in a unsafe situation that you can be fired from the job 😂 where the safety comes from? We Indians mainly southern part of India is more and more in trade and attracted traders from Greece to China and controlled 23 to 45 percent of world trade under the trade route by using southern part of India as a trading ground for the world but why now all of us afraid of business now while our ancestors are kings in international trade? Why we people want Saturday and Sunday holiday and 9 to 5 job and rest of time see social media or other entertainment and waste our time? This mentality is the thing that keeps most of the people out of thinking of doing business. Etc etc there is a lot to tell I better stop with this my fingers hurt 😂. Why people say they don't get loan from banks they always gives to the rich business man and decline our request? - because they didn't try properly. Bank only provide funds to successfully running business that need to scale the business because they don't want to risk the money because at the end of the day the money the bank has is also belongs to people like us, so bank are responsible to give it to the winning horse rather than rookie horse which has potential. But in some case if the product are service is good and the way you pitched your idea properly with prototype you may lucky that a manager of a bank would take risk and approve for you. But the best option is crowd fund people forgot that how good was joint families are. In those days a family would consist of three generations in one house so collect fund is little easy, but today scenario you may ask financial help from all your close relatives or if you tell you don't like none because all those relatives are wanting to see you fail😂 them the best and the proper thing first to do is to find a investor or seed funder. Then what did the govt is doing for youngsters like me to start a business? - I can't comment on you state govt because I don't know what type of schemes they have but central govt have some schemes and a platform to you to find some investors and business guides and seed funders. Also don't forget the MSME you can register in it and even there are some schemes in it for new comers that helps to get loan fast from bank etc etc there is lot of options but the problem with us people is we never tried so we never know all the opportunities 😅 rather than going to a bank and bluntly asking for a loan to start a business that's it 😂. But some lucky bastards even got funds like that too but that's not the proper way. If that's the case why govt can't build these type of infrastructure for us and educate us about this? -😂 the truth is we and our mentality is the reason😢 when a govt build a business corridor the first common man comment is " this is not a needed thing we need govt hospital school ration etc etc most villages in India don't have toilets many people don't have house etc etc why govt always favourable to the business man and making many infrastructure for them but don't care about common people like us who asked for building like this we need the govt to spend money on us and stop being supporting only business and corporate and we think you people getting money from the corporate so that you are making all things for them and neglected us, who the hell asked for that building the govt is a corporate slave, next time come here asking for vote we will beat you and through you out" 😂 this be the words comes from them and what the opposite party do is add more petrol to that burning fire boom 💥 the govt will start giving freebies and many things to please us 😂. So what are you exactly try to say? - stop acting like victims and come out of this victim mentality. Being unemployed is our fault, there is job from loading a truck to being ceo of a company, we all try to get a specific job Where 90 % of the competition is there so most will not get it some will get a job but not a value to money to the work done because the demand is high so the companies not depend on us. I am not saying you guys to get a janitor job because less competition I am saying if you are a engineer create a floor cleaning machine and sell to big companies both job is same but the way you do is different also in that way you create another 50 jobs for others now you became a job giver rather than complain about unemployment. This is the difference the difference begins with us within us. If we not change no matter how many govt comes this unemployment story you will even here when you are at your 100 years age too. Stop complaining govt for unemployment complain about no facility for you guys to start business and cherish and make 1000 jobs opening You may think it is good to talk in world but in reality it's different yeah I agree but rather than spending 4 hours in social media better use those 4 hours plus take loan of 2 hours from your sleep you get 6 hours of productive time that you can spend either learning a skill are doing freelance are anything it's upto you.

The problems in Kerala show us that while socialism sounds good in theory, it doesn't always work out perfectly in real life. It's like having a great idea for a game, but when you try to play it, you realize there are a lot of difficulties you didn't anticipate. So, even though we might like the idea of everyone being equal and taken care of, making it happen can be really hard.
When theres no wealth creation through private enterprises, how will wealth get distributed 😂 A government doesn't create wealth. It just takes our wealth (taxes etc) and PRETENDS to spend it wisely.

😂😂😂you nailed it bro: I would like to add some more points: 1. Huge advertisement by government 2. High govt employees salary( kseb driver receives an amount of 1.4lakhs) 3. Unwanted programs like Navakerala sadas etc 4. Unfruitful foreign trips by officals( where as stallin bring 8000crore development in a single trip) 5.retired employees are placed at many of the posts with huge salary 6. Nearly 8000crores pending to contractors 7. Sudden increments of employees salary 8. Shut down of companies and don't allows entrepreneurs to flourish 9. Over interference of politics in each and every sectors You know govt is trying to increase its income by increasing its tax from all sectors but still it's fails, our ration shops and supplyco outlets are empty due to debt to vendors who supplied. We are the high petrol charge payers even in the country 😂😂❤ even though we will look towards UP and others and say"WE Are No.1"😂😂😂
Add this as well. Kerala gets less share of taxes from the central pool, than it contributes. As per 14th finance commission kerala received 2.5% of the central pool of taxes. In the 15th finance commission it was reduced to 1.9% Meanwhile Chhattisgarh which has same population as kerala received 3% (as per 14th fc) and an increment of 3.5% (as per 15th fc). Also, the central government does not count the extra budgetary borrowings via central government owned body corporates in its balance sheet, but expects kerala to count its extra budgetary borrowing via kiifbi, there by slashing the state's borrowing power. That's exactly why the case is being fought for in supreme court. Also, the kerala is the only state that pays hightst land acquisition costs for centrally funded projects like national highways. Maharashtra spends 0 on land acquisition. The funds received in PMAY scheme from center is 0 since past 2 years. While for UP its well above 2k crores. Also, kerala spends more %of its sgdp on healthcare and education, and pensions, than any other state in india. This is exactly why supreme court insisted on seeing this as a unique issue and grant kerala a stimulus package.
@@forits.real._7997yes but this is an excuse. They knew what their allocation was and they should work within. I'm from Kerala, and in this video, they mentioned that Kerala has worked diligently to manage its population ( 12:49) . However, I couldn't find any specific population control policies implemented by the Kerala government. The decline in population here is largely attributed to migration, as many people move to other states or countries for better opportunities and education. While higher education may indirectly contribute to population control, it's essential to clarify that Kerala's population decline is primarily due to outward migration compared to other states. Additionally, it's worth noting that politicians can easily manipulate Keralites, despite the state's high literacy rate. Still they believe that Centre is targetting kerala and they are blocking funds

@@shaheennamboori Could you please identify any other measures introduced by the Kerala government aimed at population control? To my knowledge, I couldn't find any specific population control regulations. It's important to clarify that population control norms don't necessarily mean enforcing a two-child policy; rather, it encompasses broader policy objectives. Additionally, the impact of the 2011 census data affects not just Kerala but all states. It appears that you may not have considered other factors discussed in the video contributing to the economic crisis. Conducting a more recent census could potentially reveal a lower population for Kerala, resulting in adjustments to central monetary allocations.
There was wide spread campaigns like 'naam onnu nammuk rand ' and encouraging vasectomy in the population. I remember my grand parents describing the vast vasectomy outreach programme they had in their adulthood. And mostly there are only 2 kids in most families. Most young Chinese parents are reluctant to have more than 1 baby.
@@hidhanu14 Yes, I've also heard about it, but it seems more like a matter of awareness rather than an official policy, and even then, it's unclear whether it's a state or central government initiative.
This was a very good point bro..
Same here, you were alert after RBI announced the financial distress right
Bro ,when comparing with other states we have some disadvantages estblishing big businesses,30 percent of our land belongs to western ghats ,so we cannot efficiently use that ,and in rest part people live in congestion, the population density of Kerala is the highest among states,so the land availability is so less, and the average wage in Kerala is truly high,so Kerala is not a suitable place for many businesses.

*He doesn't explain all these hidden agendas from the central government, like why is the central government helping those states that have more debt as a percentage of their state GDP than Kerala, just because they have a ruling government in their?*
He is just another guy who appears to be neutral but subtly pushes the big brother's agenda forward.

1) Capital outlay as % of Net Expenditure = 12.4% (23-24 (Budgeted))
2) Committed Expenditure % of revenue receipts = 62.5% (2022-2023 (Revised))
= 57.59% (2023 - 2024 (Budgeted))
3) Interest % of Revenue receipts = 21.6% (2022-2023 (Revised))
= 19.47% (2023 - 2024 (Budgeted))
4) Revenue Deficit - 1.8% (2022-2023)
Fiscal Deficit - 3.3% (2022-2023)
Overall, the analysis indicates a mixed fiscal performance for Haryana.
-TAX
How people gets money?
Any kind of job and business
Who created job opportunity?
- company that needs talent for their company to make a product or service
What govt can do to increase employment?
- nothing, because they are running because of us the people,
Then why the hell govt tell they will increase employment opportunity in their election manifesto?
- govt can make some subsidy, tax reduction, favourable conditions, infrastructure to make it attractive for companies and business to run in their state. Which indirectly increase the employment opportunities.
So the govt is lie to us ?
-No they not untill they are building infrastructures and many exceptions and other things that will make your state look attractive for business to cherish with much profit for the business,
If your govt not doing anything like that then yeah then those guys are telling lie😂 if they do all these sort of things then they are really caring about it atleast according to their manifesto
Then why still we have unemployment ?
Stop complaining govt for unemployment complain about no facility for you guys to start business and cherish and make 1000 jobs opening

Apart from that the government is employing many personal staff for each Minister who will receive salary as well as pensions.
Add this as well.
Kerala gets less share of taxes from the central pool, than it contributes.
As per 14th finance commission kerala received 2.5% of the central pool of taxes.
In the 15th finance commission it was reduced to 1.9%
Meanwhile Chhattisgarh which has same population as kerala received 3% (as per 14th fc) and an increment of 3.5% (as per 15th fc).

Its a democracy man , we can't go around and say only have 2 kids, it was achieved with various other measures , but this did bite back when Modi govt decided to use census report from 2011 breaking the promise of former congress leaders.
Kerala over the last 40 years have become the graveyard of entrepreneurs. Politicians and corrupt government employees looted every entrepreneur who did business in Kerala. Entrepreneurs are the only ones who pay taxes and create jobs. Today our youth do not have jobs in Kerala and hence go to every corner of the World searching for jobs. Political Parties in Kerala have this habit of giving party workers (majority criminals) Government jobs by creating Public Sector Undertakings or by creating unwanted Government jobs. This increased the salary outgo of the state. Today with very little tax revenue and very high salary the state is left with no other option but to borrow and blame the Government of India for their problems.
Make that 50.

Kerala could have got higher rate of NBC if it could have started removing unneccesary union goons who only how to catch a fish without soaking hands and attracting private investments. We lost unaccountable number of investments for all these years, which could have contributed to GSDP s share and our NBC will be higher by now. In 2022 there was a national summit on investors at telangana, while other states like TN and karnataka attracted lot of investments. Whereas kerala aatracted 0 invt and when returned back to kerala to hide this shame they said that each minister will go to each foreign country and conduct investors conclave and invite investors. But that doesnt became much succesful and this foreign voyage even incurred higher costs. To hide something they had did blunter they spend money unneccesary on several things like kerala bus 😂😂😂 the irony is that these was happened during the time when our state waa facing enougn debt

As a person living in kerala, I agree with you that they are facts. We are relly fed up with govt and lost hope. Unemployment, corruption and criminalism are the results of this 8+ years of Communist ruling in kerala. Pinarayi vijayan (chief minister) is a 78 year old man who doesn't even smile when in public. His 40 year old daughter veena vijayan married to a 48 year old person Muhammad riyas four years ago. Now Muhammad riyas is a minister in kerala for tourism. Son in law becomes a minister 😂

"Think School" serves as a soft propaganda channel for the BJP. The messaging is so subtle that one might hardly realize the tailored, aspirational Indian narrative.
As an economy develops, there's more excitement about the state of effort by the country's youth.
However, it should also be noted that comparing Kerala to Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Gujarat is like comparing apples to oranges.
To compare the total square kilometers with this level of human density and total it with highly educated people demarcated by high development and healthcare indices is no easy feat for any state. While this was easily achieved in Kerala over the last few decades.
Does the geography of Kerala support rapid industrialization like these central and western states? No. Besides, various groups and grassroots movements, more than communism, have strived to achieve that steady balance. This extends to minimum wage as well, with the bulk share of Kerala's offered minimum wage benefiting BIMARU and the Eastern states of India.
Think School has conveniently overshadowed the fact that Kerala incubates the maximum number of startups. These are all great feats considering what a small state is achieving. Added to this is the diaspora of Keralites who equally contribute to the developed world and in building the Neo-age metros of new India.
Of course, there were disproportionate spends, but this spendthrift behavior is and has always been a part and parcel of state governments in every other state.

UP has recently decided to focus on industries whereas Bihar is still stuck on caste based politics. The other day a financial expert of the state, said that a driver of the state electricity board earns 1.4 lacs salary. UPSC has 16 members in its board, whereas the state PSC has 25+. Each and every minister, speaker, whip can have 25 to 30 people on their staff. They have to work for minimum 2 yrs after which they are eligible for pension. After two years, a new set of people are employed. Meanwhile the earlier batch are put into the party's service.

As a keralite I can say that the indisciplined spending of successive Kerala government made things worse.
The income generation is very less diverse.
Also, one thing not mentioned here is that Kerala is a very ambitious welfare state where they have a policy of ensuring some kind of welfare pension in each house like widow pension, old age pension, disability pension etc. I believe it is one of the highest in India. Its been lagging for few months now.
But these are not excuses for the mismanagement of the spending.
Also, it seems that kerala's population is stagnated or decreased during last decade which also created severe demographic pressure.

I was waiting for this. Thank you so much Think School. ❤
Some time back, I was working in a compay where we had to regularly deliver some material at various construction sites in different cities of Kerala. Every time our truck would arrive, some people from some union will come to the site.
They would not let our people at the site unload the material. And tell us that we needed to hire only local union members for unloading.
As it would have taken much of our time, we used to pay for these absent union members and do the work ourselves. It felt like we were being bullied into paying them but we didn't complain as we had strict timelines.
Btw...loved the food and people. In all I spent 1 year on/off in various cities of Kerala. It is truly God's own country.
even i had the same problem.. we would have to pay these union folks for unloading & only then they will allow our labors to unload... it was frustrating
Brother, even if you are shifting and want to unload your own house hold stuffs, you will have to pay these goons.
