    Well took a bit longer than 5 seconds but really cool to see this specific technique, I always though that Eddie did that because he DIDNT have the mobility to do it like the other guys. Give more of Luke! I absolutely love this guy and he pairs well with Eddie

      the idea is that you are never gonna be fresh in a stongman competition before you do the lift, thats why strongmantraining always comes second

    • @OfficialStrongmancom
      @OfficialStrongmancom  4 роки тому +4

      It's a training method called pre-fatiguing. It helps to replicate what the event will be like on competition day

    • @thecaptain5026
      @thecaptain5026 4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the response! I understand that it's a competition simulation. And it works for pro level strongman. I'm just wondering about the effectiveness for 80-90kg natural athletes.
      When I go to/near failure on shoulders, my barbell OHP would suffer massively.

    • @Danielllllewis
      @Danielllllewis 4 роки тому

      @@thecaptain5026 Of course you'll do less if you do high rep dumbbells first, but the press is never the first event in a contest. The whole point is going into the event fatigued in training just like you would in a contest
