That is an efficient, well-thoughtout operation. Everybody is doing his job. The sawing never slows down and is producing maximum lumber production. I notice the sawdust is blown into a truck, possibly to be used as litter in their horse stables/barns. The enginemen are kept busy stoking their boilers and maintaining a safe water level. These engines would consume a lot of fuel and water running continuously like this. It would have been fun (and work) to be part of this operation.
The 21-75 hp on the west end runs slower speeds to move the sled, and the other 2 on the east end power all of the different sawing and trimming operations run at a faster speed. Just a guess from watching other videos though.
It s nice to see the people working together in comfort.

Excellent! Really gives a feel of the operation.
It was a great day!
Love the sound of those Bakers
THOSE BAKERS ARE KEPT UP LIKE NEW, THEY WILL PROBABLY LAST ANOTHER 100 YEARS!
Love that steam power
What does the motor use for fuel lots of power
I don't understand why it takes three Bakers to power the saw mill. Can someone explain please?
