@@dereklol8310they made it legitimately useless now. Tripmines are already overkill for most red bars and too weak to one-shot most yellow bars in endgame, so the change really benefitd no one except maybe pvp players, but even then, they werent oppressively good in pvp.
I very much agree, void hunter NEEDS a better melee. It’s not like it would be totally out of the night stalker personality, spectral blades is a thing. Could just be one of those knives (or both cuz fuck it akimbo knives) and it does more damage to enemies who don’t see you, whether that’s because you’re invisible or just backstabbed them. Khepri would have much more use AND assassins cowl would be at all usable on the actual invisibility class.
Ooh i like this idea, i could see them add a knife that like weakens and marks an enemy when it hits them and weakens them based on crit vs non crit or something
Maybe they could do something like a dash that slashes with two void knives and applies either volatile or weaken to enemies in a cone behind the one hit. Kinda like an updated version of blink strike from D1 but void and having actual utility.
Khepri in d1 was awesome if you crouched you would go invis and if you melee someone from behind your melee would do 4x dmg on top of having a shorter melee cool down
YAS nerf really sucked the fun out of solar hunter for me. Been using it since they finally added more cure and resto options on gunslinger and I damn near cried when they announced that nerf. Literally used to be the most fun and dynamic ability spam build imo.
If it makes you feel any better, YAS is still a blast in solar surge strikes. Try using it with parasite to make up for the loss of ability spam damage. But if we’re talking real endgame stuff then yea it’s done.
@@chiccimusnuggimus9055yeah but it cant be used for a budget starfire with a demo rocket. glass cannon playstyle. now its just dogshit ad clear. (YAS was a hands down fav exotic)
I think the effect of Lucky Raspberry is misunderstood. The arcbolt grenade itself does not refund energy anymore, you need jolt damage procs. Paired with a voltshot weapon against ads, it's a very fast recharge, against tankier enemies, you can pop an arcbolt roughly every 5 seconds or less. Takes 5 jolt ticks to refund I believe, maybe less.
In regards to the YAS nerf: Even in PvP, the issue was that the Tripmines had more health than a player, which essentially forced you to just run into them. They could have just removed the massive health buff they had to nerf them effectively. Bonehead nerf from Bungie.
YAS was my favorite exotic in the game, it's what got me to start playing the other classes after being a warlock only main for 2000 hours. It was so incredibly fun and unique despite being far from overpowered. So frustrating.
I've been playing this game for 3 year's I know I'm not the most veteran player but men, I feel the same pain, I played 1500 hours just using YAS, those hours where by far my favorite experience, playing with my friends nightfalls GM, doing all the dungeons flawless men ahamkara was the reason to play this came... But now, the most infernal nerf just because ppl crying in pvp... This game is not funny anymore, I can't find a build now like, interactive build, like, doing things, like, playing the game all the other builds are sooooo boring, you just do anything and your are obligated to play the braindead void build
Omni is definitely a crutch that allows you to avoid all combatants while having your dodge pretty much the entire time. His tiers are usually unkind to crutch exotics if they don't increase your power. But putting Orpheus Rigs hurts my soul. Orpheus Deadshots can last for a long time if placed correctly and give you back your super in it's entirety. I can shoot multiple Deadshots in ad-dense encounters.
it's noteworthy how many exotics hunter has that are at least B tier. there's so many ways to play that are at least valid even if they're not optimal, and lots of fun loadout swap things to do as well. 1000% agree on stompees, it's silly that we have to use them all the time for neutral gameplay just to keep up... but you do, so they're on
12:54 The void melee is absolutely the most out of place part of the nightstalker kit, and I've repeatedly written about how it'd be the simplest change to make smoke bomb into a bladed melee. I think that R6 has some character with a Kunai that is also a smoke trap wherever it sticks. Like, just giving nightstalker a more satisfying projectile to throw with a better trajectory and incentive to land direct hits is what it has needed for a long time, and it can be done without removing any of the current effects (can still be a proximity smoke bomb like the explosive knife). The current limp throw smoke bomb is just not satisfying to use.
I think smoke bomb actually make sense with the design intent Bungie gave the Void Hunter as a Debuff/Support subclass for Hunter that other Hunter subclasses just don't do nearly as well. Its not designed to be an aggressive class like Arc or Solar and I feel like a lot of players don't understand that. Though, another melee option would be a nice bonus. If we look at the Stasis and Strand Hunter's melees. For example, those melees don't do a lot of damage but apply debuffs which synergize with the gameplay of the class. Same with smoke bomb (its not designed to be a damage tool, its meant to be a utility piece to debuff enemies or turn allies invisible).
Ngl Renewal Grasps with like a trench barrel, One-Two Punch, Cascade Point shotgun is actually really really strong. Also with renewed grasps, if you throw the grenade directly at your feet u can literally hide in your crystal and all enemies just completely stop attacking you. I use it in GMs, Master Raids etc. it’s not only good for taking out Mini-bosses with the DR and a heavy hitting shotgun but it’s also good for Ad-control cause of course it’s stasis. I think the exotic is severely underrated but I’m kinda happy that people don’t know how to use them and sleep on them so much. Gives it less chance of being touched by Bungie lol
Tbh ive critiqued a lot of your exotic videos, the recent being armor and i think i figured out my problem. I think with these armor list you could have made a list of "GMs, day 1, Raids, Speedruns, Solo content" check off what each one is viable the most and rank them in order of the "best" Something like this could make it easier to understand placement to everyone and let people know what is the efficient exotic to run depending on if its 6 players, 3 players or solo.
I feel like Bungie chose the single worst option for "nerfing" YAS. It was only ever a problem in PvP, and what they did to it not only annihilated it in PvE, but it's still just as obnoxious to play against in PvP as it was before. Now, instead of being brought to 1hp for 10 seconds straight from around a corner every round in trials, you get brought to 1hp for 10 seconds straight around a corner every other round in trials, which doesn't at all remedy the part where the damn thing brings you to 1hp for 10 seconds from around a corner in the first place. It feels like shit to play against in PvP, it's useless in PvE, and the annoying aspects it had went completely untouched, like the complete lack of damage falloff and the comically long scorch timer it applies. As a PvP player, I don't feel any better about the YAS changes than you do. Anyway, great video, I loved it, move Lucky Pants up please and thank you.
My problem with Oathkeeper is that they boost total damage on a primary weapon with infinite ammo, but cause DPS to drop. You do better Wish-Ender DPS just firing within the normal perfect draw window. This means the gauntlets are only useful if you are very slowly picking enemies off by peeking every 5-7 seconds to fire one arrow. It's not a very exciting way to play. If I want to get the most damage I can out of an infinite ammo primary I'd much rather get the burst damage from Lucky Pants on Warden's Law or Malfeasance. At least I can run another powerful weapon during the 10 seconds of downtime rather than just standing around a corner holding a bow shot for 5 seconds. Edit: RIP Young Ahamkara's Spine. You were cool as hell, and far from overpowered in PvE. May you one day receive the Renewal Grasps treatment and be revived to your former glory.
Lucky should just give intrinsic volt. fixes the whole overload thing, plus being able to avoid -10 from spark of shock. It would feel much better that way
Cyrtaraqne facade is underrated. Having woven mail on demand without the need of putting yourself in danger is great. You can also start every encounter with woven mail and activate every buff that is linked to having it active.
Yeah there is absolutely no way it's below blight ranger. Sure woven mail isn't as effective in higher content since enemies hit harder but you still get a massive dr on a great subclass on demand.
Agreed. I watched all of these ranking videos, and was really enjoying them in the beginning. When it came to weapons, I agreed with more of his placement. But when it comes to some of his takes on exotic armor, he has me scratching my head. I feel like he based a lot of his decisions on speed running for endgame even though he says it also includes master raids, day 1 raids, gm, solo runs, or smaller fireteams than recommended. I won't hold it against him too much though. It's his opinion and I still learned some things even though I don't agree with everything.
To your point between Athrys and caliban remember that weighted knife ignites any scorched target, so an exotic, grenade, or incandescent is getting you an ignition so it does have a splash effect but on a stronger knife.
@@caiquepacha3606yeah but it extends once you get your health back since now it's a timer, also you can re-proc it with kills supposedly in season 2023
I think Athrys’ could use the Second Chance treatment. Gameplay loop feels way better when you stun barrier champs because it refunds your shield throw.
A build around Gyrfalcon's and Graviton's Lance, is completely mental for ad clear and in confined spaces where you get rushed by mobs of ads, a single kill can start a chain reaction which keeps killing ALL the ads coming at you, until there are none left.
a cool void hunter melee could be a short blink forward with a dagger lower tier enemies could be overpenetrated with the dash but things like minibosses up would make it more like a pounce, maybe let it apply weaken or volatile to enemies hit by the dash?
a Nightstalker charged melee that deals increased damage for each Void Buff you have or Debuff on your target or something would be fun. To play more into the melee buff play style portion of stylish executioner
Oathkeepers should be in F tier, not only is it worse dps to use its exotic perk fully, but something that I see NO ONE mention is the fact that it does NOT BUFF EXOTIC PERKS AT ALL, this mean broadhead dmg on Wish-Ender which is about 67% of it's damage on a crit given the 2 broadhead dmg procs are slightly stronger than a crit, it does not buff Le Monarque poison dmg which is a substantial portion of its dmg, was like about half before it got its recent rework and its probably still about the same, Ticuu's sacred flame Explosions are completely unbuffed which makes up a huge portion of its dmg even with the catalyst which only buffs arrow dmg, Trinity Ghoul arc lightning chain is also unbuffed, Hierarchy of Needs also doesn't get the buff to its extra arrows fired through a Guidance Ring which is similar to Wish-Ender in that they are about two-thirds of the damage given that they deals just slightly less dmg than a crit although since they are AoE they can make up an even larger portion of dmg, Verglas Curve I've actually not bothered to test it out but I highly doubt the crystals it creates would get the dmg buff.
About sealed ahamkara , it was around the same time luna auto load was , and it initially had basically no cooldown , meaning dot melees like smoke bomb acted like a budget luna rift . Post nerf in the current sandbox , It provides an alternative to dragon's shadow , thrown melees typically give less downtime than dodgeing , regular punching or ic dashing , it gives powered melee HITS the ability to reload all your weapons , make no mistake is still not that crazy but 7 seconds is alot shorter than even the lowest of dodge cooldowns post dodge nerfs ,I personally occasionally run it if the extra handling buffs are not very beneficial from dragon's shadow and rdm is not really in the picture(too long tte of a mag , not close enough to proc rdm etc) , I think is on a similar level of useability to sixth coyote atm. It has some amount of niche uses , pretty useless in neutral , and outclasses MOST (and i stress this word) of the time during dps. edit: I think arc hunter's combi blow when charged actually counts as a powered melee hit even if you don't kil the thing you're punching (the actual melee ability not the stacks) , I am not entirely sure on this one but would be pretty funny if that was true.
Heavy disagree with raiden Flux placement below Blight ranger and Raiju. Raiden Flux also buffs duration for arcstaff quite a bit, its like twice the duration so its good for clearing big rooms of powerful enemies since arcstaff does good damage in general with light light heavy.
@TheAegisRelic but putting blight rangers above Orpheus rig just kinda seems wrong. Sure you shit out large orbs with it but that's it when with a Orpheus dead fall hunter you can shit out orbs and mass cc a room and get your super back very fast
I consider Sherpas to be part of the endgame, and that for me ranks some of these higher than they are, but other than that one caveat I largely agree with all your lists.
Honestly, about the assassin ninja hunter fantasy, I think old Gyr Falcon's flat damage on invis was a better buff. Volatile isn't that strong anymore, and hunter really has not a lot of straight benefits for being invis (void 2.0 provisions) or doing volatile (like Controlled Demolition). Flat damage was handy, and worked with more weapons.
Sixth Coyote is EXTREMELY underrated on Strand with clones, its effectively a offensive invis cause enemies focus it and basically ignore you along with free threadlings. not D tier imo.
Nobody needs it if you just oneshot all enemies. If you can kill every champion without effort or ammunition, there is no invis required. But it’s kinda solid if someone has it in a raid Team, in a situation where no damage is required.
Oathkeepers are terrible with exotic bows...? It does not boost any of the exotic perks, including broadhead, and you get a pretty hefty damage loss compared to just shooting twice instead. Should be in F tier imo
@@MalrosJade Oathkeeper boosts the initial impact damage on Wish-Ender but not the two additional damage ticks that come from the Broadhead perk. This works out to a fully drawn Oathkeeper + Wish-Ender shot doing 50% more damage than a normal perfect draw. This sounds great and it works fine if you are willing to move slowly and pick off enemies patiently, but with how long you need to wait for each arrow to get the full damage bonus it actually significantly reduces your damage per second compared to just firing on perfect draw. So if you can fire Wish-Ender on perfect draw your damage will quickly outstrip waiting for the Oathkeeper bonus damage, making the exotic essentially worthless in most content.
@@TheAegisRelic but the ability to delete champions and chunky enemies with a primary weapon in harder content is quite valuable, feel like it needs a timer to balance it otherwise it'd be OP. Each to their own I guess!
Like a lot of stuff here! But the Stompies being as high as they are makes me think you don’t do a ton of hunter- as a hunter main I’ve always felt like they aren’t necessary at all For movement for raid jumping puzzles or anything. But I am also the weirdo who loves Blink on arc hunter 😅
Well built and accurate list, good job. My two thoughts would be to put Omni and Cyrtarachnae a tier higher (Omni for team-wide infinite invis + DR and Cyrt being infinite, refreshable, no hit or kill requirement woven mail built around the high mobility of strand). Seeing Blight so high also feels wrong, but I suppose the niche it does have holds value in endgame content, so I can’t argue. Orbs are orbs. Glad this one turned out pretty good all things considered, so nicely done. I know it can be tricky to balance these lists in an objective way!
God as a new player I spend hours staring at DIM trying to figure out what primary to use/farm, tough life as HC enjoyer, these exotic lists get that time down to 45m so that's dope
i thought lucky pants was more of a damage check for contest mode raids like when hunters need primary damage after you've dumped all our main damage(heavy and special). it works great for that and thats always what i used it for. (hunter main btw)
It sort of is but the long cooldown between damage boost procs means that knucklehead(formerly Foetracer) pushes it out of its niche and doesn’t tether you to a handcannon
I will say Athrys’ Embrace is a ton of fun with Conditional Finality. Pretty sure shatter damage with the knife is better than 1-2 punch and it makes for some fun burst damage/champ deletion like you said. Still niche and probably not worth it for most players especially because you have to raid
The only thing I'll hugely disagree with on this list is Orpheus rig, for team setups in GM content that you aren't speedrunning, and for specific GMs where ad density in very high, and killing all enemies is required to progress, like the battlegrounds they've added more recently, it's 100 times more impactful than Omni. Would I put it at S tier, no, but does it deserve high B low A, yes. It solves majority of the issues void hunter has with offense, throwing up to 3 grenades in the span of 5 seconds when popping your deadfall, crowd controlling the whole room, and being able to do that repeatedly every 20 seconds or so thanks to the super regen, is just something that can't be overlooked for people who aren't speedrunners.
I can't wait for in a year (if im still playing this fucking game then) for Bungie to say "whoops we screwed YAS too much time to buff it to it's pre-nerf state" like Renewal Grasps. Or something else that's stupid like "In order to make YAS more appealing we are nerfing Caliban's Hand" like they did with Sanguine Alchemy and Boots Of The Assembler way back.
Am i coping for wanting a stasis exotic that makes it so every tick your SnS super does to a target increases the dlg of the next tick ? I just want stasis to be competitive, i just live its design more than anything else
the people at bungie who decided that yas was as powerful as ANTAEUS WARDS in pvp is absolutely insane. the fact that both were absolutely gutted makes NO sense to me at all. antaeus wards enabled 0 thought shotgun ape gameplay, while yas enabled... some more tripmines, and was a bit annoying. what. antaeus literally made you invincible for about 2 seconds on demand with no cooldown, how in your right mind do you think that yas is just as powerful??
Honestly radion flux is pretty great for clearing ad dense room in gms gotta and can even 3 hit barrier in gm before they pull shield up id honestly give it B maybe low A
When the Star-eater buff came out where it only takes 4 orbs instead of 8 to charge, my reaction was just "Why?". I'm a hunter main, ride or die since D1. I still cannot explain why they thought that was a necessary buff. Not complaining, just confused
I feel like you’re really underselling strand hunter. It is for sure terrible for boss dps but as someone who plays entirely solo it has carried me this season. Whirling Maelstrom is great and will clear a room by itself and the clones will absolutely save your ass in a crowded room, literally every enemy immediately drops everything they’re doing and focuses your clone leaving you free to do literally whatever you want.
Finally, another one! I've been singing this combo's praises all season, but I don't really have a platform or audience, so it's been a lonely advocacy LOL. I do think it's kind of carried a bit by Elemental Munitions/Frenzied Stacks, though, which make Whirling Maelstrom kind of ridiculous. Might fall off next season for that reason--especially given that we know there's Stasis artifact support, so I'm not sure how much Strand is going to be in there.
Have you tried using oath keepers with wish ender, ticcus or heiraechy? For for hierarchy it only increases the damage of the actual arrow and not the little split seeker projectiles. For wish ender it obly increases the damage of the initial hit, not the broadbead peirces. And for ticcus, it is quite unreliable to use because you need to keep firing to maintain the catalyst perk. Which barely lasts longer than thr time it takes to charge adamantine brace
These are fair points and to be honest I've only used Oath for its infinite perfect draw capabilities pre-buff in speedruns, I'll definitely give it a go in something like a solo GM to get a feel for its effect better
I think The Sixth Coyote is C-tier. It makes blink work on arc hunter, giving you that extra mobility; plus void hunters get a second inta invis & solar hunters get back to back radiant dodges. This makes it more applicable for endgame content & lets you use the dodge more freely.
@@TheAegisRelic Yeah; the biggest thing is the cool down between blinks, its recharge speed, & directional recovery. The extra dodge gives that extra mobility so you can always have a blink up by dodging between jumps or suddenly dodging from a grenade/knight/boss/self-destruct mob when landing. Blink works off momentum & stacks with amplified's speed boost; allowing for major amounts of distance to be covered. Amplified also helps negate the weapon ready speed penalty from blink too.
@@TheAegisRelic Try it out; just keep up the amplified buff. You could sub it out for Radiant Dance Machine but sometimes you need that extra dodge when not by enemies. (Especially if you want to run blink on jump puzzles)
Despite a lot of these exotics not being great in PvE I don’t think very many need to be buffed as they have a strong niche in PvP like facade. Bungie does need to address some of the underperforming outliers like ahamkara’s and triton vice though
The amount of things I'd do in order to have Blight Ranger turned into a Gathering Storm Exotic rather than an Arc Staff one is insane. I got the ornament for brightdust months ago and I really just want a good excuse to put it on (it looks way too good). I really don't care about creating orbs because in most situation you wont be attacked rapidly enough to really create all that many and in front of most raid/dungeon encounters you have a rally flag anyways. I'd love to know what scenarios the game currently offers in which the current version of BL is literally any useful. Arthrys's Embrace is one of my favorite exotics but I agree that it feels kinda bad to use. It has anti unstop but at the same time incentivizes you to not use it for that purpose because of the ridiculous 2:17 base cooldown. They either have to give it some sort of Melee Kickstart effect built in or dump the stunning effect and replace it with more PvE damage. Also why does the damage increase not work against boss tier enemies? Like come on bungie... Imo I'd rather use something else for champ stunning and just full send into nuking everything with it. They could also allow it to bounce between enemies similarly to withering blade. Also can we get pre-nerf PvE YAS back? That shit was so much fun.
YAS was killed because of PvP. I'm sure they're gonna bring it back to its former glory in PvE someday, but for now I'm just glad it's not an armsore in PvP anymore.
Lucky pants is A tier. Yes it is limited to a few hand cannons and has the damage every 10 seconds. However, there are no other pre requisites to get that damage and it always provides a super level damage on a single target… every 10 seconds. Plus its quite a fun way to play. If they reduced the cooldown and increased the reload speed for HCs it would be a nuts exotic. Better than foe tracer. You have to hit something with your ability and it only works on certain enemy types. Maybe its my bias but all I see is more easily, readily and higher damage output than foetracer. A side note: cyrtarachnes facade has a missed opportunity to give the hunter woven mail on dodge while using threaded spectre aspect. Just feeds into the whole “facade” side of stuff. This should be a proc for PVE only.
I agree with a lot of these but i have some questions: -Do you rate these exotics based on how good they are in their respective subclass or compared to the overall exotics of the class cuz Gyrf is abnormally high on this list given how you view Void Hunter as one of the much weaker subclass? -You did mention Athrys’s Embrace’s ability to stun Unstoppables when you rank it,but why not the same for Lucky Raspberry,Shinobu’s Vow(with the grenade jolt fragment) or even Renewal Grasp(extreme outlier given how it can stun 3 champs, technically).Like it would not completely change their positioning on this list significantly if any but would it have ranked any differently if you also considered it or is the chart ranked with those additional abilities in mind? thats it i guess, pretty cool video, strand hunter eval was rad and based
The major thing I disagree with is Celestial in A tier because it is sure a swap exotic except why would I be on golden gun when I have blade barrage existing. It needs a damage bump, but for right now its a solid C tier option
@@TheAegisRelic Fair enough I guess I just find Nighthawk useless compared to just normal golden gun and for boss dps you are using other options. Maybe once the buff happens next season and I test it out I can see the placement
@@snipey8623the critical part of celestial is that it's all in 1 shot, meaning you can get back to rockets sooner. 3 shots take a long time in terms of DPS windows
@@ballpython365 For a raid scenario yeah but for endgame in general no its better to use other exotics and why I dislike it being in A tier. In gms you are not using celestial ever since it doesnt one shot anything important and you don't care about how fast you can get back to rockets. Thats more of an issue on how the tierlist is for everything rather than specifics but I cant blame Aegis for that
from what i gathered, liar's handshake is better than assassin's cowl for two facts, but mostly just for boss damage: it heals you even more, and not just on kill but on hit it deals free damage that doesn't require you to use your special ammo. while yes, i think it is better to just shotty -> OTP -> shotty -> OTP that does burn through your ammo quicker than when using liar's
@@TheAegisRelic that's how i did my solo flawless ecthar. kept me alive and got him killed. i am aware that it is not the most optimal damage, but it's better than rocketing him and the suicidal thrall accidentally jumping in front. and no, i did not want to do it on warlock to begin with because i love hunter the most
What if: Void hunter new melee option. Charge dash attack with void blade similar to arc titan falcon punch that does big damage at full charge and makes targets volatile. Or and hear me out… perhaps a slide melee combo with the void blade that does big damage and weakens targets on the follow up attack for a new aspect. One can dream
Orpheus Rig should be A tier because of the interaction it has with ashes to assets. If you tether a large group of adds and throw your grenade, it counts every single add as a grenade kill. I pretty regularly get my entire super back, or if not ~90%. Being able to use deadfall tether (one of the best all-around supers in the game) essentially as a normal ability is massive. I've kept up with some of the most busted builds of the last few years - Starfire 'lock, HoiL Titan, banner of war Titan - just by spamming tethers. It should definitely be above gyrfalcons.
As a void hunter enjoyer I think gyfalcons is the best solo survivability exotic in the game for example for stuff like prophecy you can use conditional or a strong splash damage gun to weaken the majors then swap to a void gun and grab the dark or light motes while invis
I'm gonna have to disagree on the Sixth Coyote placement. It isn't a subclass exclusive exotic but the neutral benefit of having that second dodge is insane on Strand Hunter with the Shadow Clones and to keep the melee up near 100% of the time. And the melee severs everything which reduces their damage output by like 40%. Very strong exotic on Strand. Arguably the best paired with it on Strand Hunter right now. It's also got the high invisibility uptime even before Void 3.0 if you either can't kill ads reliably with Gyrfalcons or surround yourself with them in the case of Graviton Forefeit. It's utility on Strand alone puts it at least in high B tier or low A. Like its far more useful than Calibans or Blight Rangers or even stompee's in endgame PvE in terms of neutral game AD-Clear. The survivability is like actually insane its roughly around A-Cowls on Strand.
Man I feel like im going crazy with some of these placements. Strand hunter is one of if not the best GM content subclasses for hunter. Cyrtarachnes is boring but makes the build genuinely overpowered insofar as you can generate beyblades from miles away with the aspect that creates tangles on weapon kills while woven mail is active. Can someone explain how I'm wrong?
the YAS nerf in PvE would only make sense if there was a mass nerfing of S and A tier exotics and mass buffing of B, C, D, and E tier exotics. That’s why it feels so insanely out of place ;~;
It does make sense because HoIL and Starfire were nerfed...for the name reason, bungie doesn't want infinite ability spam on a single target without needing kills.
YAS used to be my favorite hunter exotic, then they nerfed the shit out of it and made it require kills (a death sentence in endgame stuff). There was no reason for that last change atop the health nerf. I now enjoy lucky pants. The 10 second lockout is a bit annoying, but the damage is so fat. I basically use it and wardens law to get rid of the need for special weapons. I consider it an ammo economy exotic more than anything. It also does such fat damage to champs at no cost, so I use it with any primary I want that's good for ad clear, and my heavy weapon can just be whatever I want as well. Funny enough, I use it with void hunter to cover up the survival for a well rounded hunter.
Young ahamkara use to be my favorite exotic, the reason why i keep playing this game, the reason why i made all the dungeons flawless, the lost sectors GM flawless, all the nightfalls GM with my friends, this exotic was all the reason why i got so excited when my friends call me for play... Now, i don't have real reasons to play this game anymore, the insane ahamkara loop, the simple idea of *kaboom* everything, the survivor, the constant dps even when u are run out of bullets, I really hate pvp, i hate everything about pvp, i never said anything bad about pvv, it was for me like, one game mode that i never played but now, i have to pay and suffer the consequences of fuckin ppl crying about everything, pvp players are playing the role of being a victim about everything, they cry because this because that because EVERYTHING, it's disgusting it's stupid, i really hope to be there when pvp mode dies I want to see with my own eyes when this stupid game mode get the last update

not cheating, just need multiple hunters with golden gun, every time they super they make enough orbs for the other hunters to use to regain supers and so on. pretty much infinite golden gun squad. @@forcheats155
Hard disagree with “strand subclass is the weakest sublcass in the game.”Whirling maelstrom carries hard in GM content. Plus with the elemental munitions artifact perk, you never need Aeons or anything. (Of course I know it goes away end of season)
Yeah, I asked on that video and Elemental Munitions wasn't a factor taken into consideration. The artifact is carrying Threadrunner pretty hard right now, and I think if you don't lean into that it falls behind the light subclasses (still beats stasis though). I also think it takes advantage of Assassin's Cowl very well but apparently I am insane because this has occurred to literally nobody else.
@life-destiny1196 Nah even with no artifact mods. Strand Hunter with something like Quicksilver or any decent Strand Weapon clears any content with great survivability. It has one of the best neutral games out of any Hunter Class with Arc Hunter with A Cowl beating it out simply because if it's possible to perform the melees they're stronger than Strand Melee. But Strand Hunters shadowclones take out aggro just as effectively as invisibility while providing a means to deal damage at the same time. Using everything for day 1, definitely arc and void hunter are better than solar, arc being arc and gyrfalcons really is as powerful as we say it is. Try it with devour breach build and you can’t die. I can say the only downside is that it’s very gun dependent, if you don’t have the right void guns you don’t get much from the exotic. But after YAS nerf it just shoved solar to really be below the other class options. Nighthawk also just doesn’t get value until we see the buff statistics, blade barrage fish boots will always be the better option for now whenever you are allowed to pull off blade barrage.
I understand the list isn't for just day 1 as you stated it for endgame content, and I do need to evaluate how much golden can truly do. In my eyes I see endgame as grandmasters or day 1, I guess masters but anything that keeps our level on par doesn't matter what you use. Just from playing the class for a long time I can say that arc and void are better than solar currently. @@TheAegisRelic
I'm sorry but Gyrfalcon's at A is criminal and is one of the best hunter exotics in the game. Equip it with La Monarque or Graviton Lance, and you have not only consist devour but volatile rounds as well for constant ad-clear.
@@TheAegisRelic yeah true, it's not-there's definitely better options other than Nightstalker for sure. But, in GMs and some encounters in dungeons, Nightstalker isn't a bad pick at all. It's very consistent and fun to use imo, which should be the most important thing.
Raiden Flux deserves to be ranked higher. I've been running gms with it and it allowed me to clear a room full of majors and champions in one minute without me breaking a sweat. With otb generating setup you can get your super very quickly and nuke literally everything in the room, no one can stop yiu even in gms. I would put it at least at the top of B tier

Ooh i like this idea, i could see them add a knife that like weakens and marks an enemy when it hits them and weakens them based on crit vs non crit or something
like a legit assassin, invis/backstab bonus with a void knife would feel very nice. it might open up some new options in build crafting
Maybe they could do something like a dash that slashes with two void knives and applies either volatile or weaken to enemies in a cone behind the one hit. Kinda like an updated version of blink strike from D1 but void and having actual utility.
That's bothering me to from long time now ,not just void hunter we need more options

Takes 5 jolt ticks to refund I believe, maybe less.

Omni is definitely a crutch that allows you to avoid all combatants while having your dodge pretty much the entire time. His tiers are usually unkind to crutch exotics if they don't increase your power.

Fully agree!
If you're talking about Azami, her kunai is basically Arbor Warden (throwable barricade), not smoke.
Another renewal grasp brother
Tbh ive critiqued a lot of your exotic videos, the recent being armor and i think i figured out my problem. I think with these armor list you could have made a list of "GMs, day 1, Raids, Speedruns, Solo content" check off what each one is viable the most and rank them in order of the "best"
Something like this could make it easier to understand placement to everyone and let people know what is the efficient exotic to run depending on if its 6 players, 3 players or solo.
agreed.
Sounds like you should make a video
Check my most recent community post! I'm planning on doing this from now on :)
It would feel much better that way
Aegis, when are you gonna drop the Tier list Tiers list where you rank the tier lists that you have made.
It's his opinion and I still learned some things even though I don't agree with everything.

a Nightstalker charged melee that deals increased damage for each Void Buff you have or Debuff on your target or something would be fun.
Yeah I'm reevaluating them with that in mind next season, people have brought that up as an issue
Thanks for the historical insight!
Heavy disagree with raiden Flux placement below Blight ranger and Raiju. Raiden Flux also buffs duration for arcstaff quite a bit, its like twice the duration so its good for clearing big rooms of powerful enemies since arcstaff does good damage in general with light light heavy.
It slaps in GMs. The fact that light light heavy can stagger barrier champs is amazing
Raiden is cool but sacrificing your exotic especially in an equipment locked activity for just a super buff isn't worth it imo
@TheAegisRelic but putting blight rangers above Orpheus rig just kinda seems wrong. Sure you shit out large orbs with it but that's it when with a Orpheus dead fall hunter you can shit out orbs and mass cc a room and get your super back very fast

This comment feels to broad to be accurate. Never heard of oathkeepers not boosting damage just because it was an exotic.

It makes blink work on arc hunter, giving you that extra mobility; plus void hunters get a second inta invis & solar hunters get back to back radiant dodges. This makes it more applicable for endgame content & lets you use the dodge more freely.
It makes blink work on Arcstrider? Huh

Shinobu’s and Lucky Raspberry aren’t very good in PvP which is why YAS was nerfed.
The most frustrating part is that they didn't even make an effort to try and separate the changes between PvP and PvE.
Shinobu with artifact lightning strikes twice enabled you to spam grenades.
stompees are getting DR while airborne so more utility in jumping puzzles.
I agree with a lot of these but i have some questions:
-Do you rate these exotics based on how good they are in their respective subclass or compared to the overall exotics of the class cuz Gyrf is abnormally high on this list given how you view Void Hunter as one of the much weaker subclass?
-You did mention Athrys’s Embrace’s ability to stun Unstoppables when you rank it,but why not the same for Lucky Raspberry,Shinobu’s Vow(with the grenade jolt fragment) or even Renewal Grasp(extreme outlier given how it can stun 3 champs, technically).Like it would not completely change their positioning on this list significantly if any but would it have ranked any differently if you also considered it or is the chart ranked with those additional abilities in mind?
thats it i guess, pretty cool video, strand hunter eval was rad and based
Compared overall, Gyr is high because Nightstalker is used sometimes and when it is used that is what you should have on generally speaking
As for the other 3 exotics you mentioned those are baked into the subclass and not part of the exotic
The major thing I disagree with is Celestial in A tier because it is sure a swap exotic except why would I be on golden gun when I have blade barrage existing. It needs a damage bump, but for right now its a solid C tier option
Blade Barrage is overrated, pre-popped Goldie does higher DPS
Thats more of an issue on how the tierlist is for everything rather than specifics but I cant blame Aegis for that
Cyrtarachne's Facade and Omnioculous were done dirty. They make soloing end game content easy
from what i gathered, liar's handshake is better than assassin's cowl for two facts, but mostly just for boss damage:
it heals you even more, and not just on kill but on hit
it deals free damage that doesn't require you to use your special ammo.
while yes, i think it is better to just shotty -> OTP -> shotty -> OTP that does burn through your ammo quicker than when using liar's
Why are you using Combination Blow for boss damage lol
@@TheAegisRelic that's how i did my solo flawless ecthar. kept me alive and got him killed. i am aware that it is not the most optimal damage, but it's better than rocketing him and the suicidal thrall accidentally jumping in front.
and no, i did not want to do it on warlock to begin with because i love hunter the most
@@TheAegisRelicCombo Blow 3x + cross counter + Spark of feedback = 230,000 dmg
That's just part of Tether that has nothing to do with the exotic
@@TheAegisRelic Right, but you need the 50% from Rig to get a full super back.
I'll never forgive Bungie for ol' yellering YAS. Proves they don't have a fuckn clue what they're doing imo
As a void hunter enjoyer I think gyfalcons is the best solo survivability exotic in the game for example for stuff like prophecy you can use conditional or a strong splash damage gun to weaken the majors then swap to a void gun and grab the dark or light motes while invis
Yeah it for sure is great for solo stuff
I'll definitely reconsider Sixth next version! You and a few other people have pointed this out
@TheAegisRelic THA GOAT THANK YOU. Blame Llama his video on it was too good.
With Elemental Munitions it's not bad this season but it's still nowhere as potent as Arcstrider or even properly tuned Gunslinger
the YAS nerf in PvE would only make sense if there was a mass nerfing of S and A tier exotics and mass buffing of B, C, D, and E tier exotics. That’s why it feels so insanely out of place ;~;
It does make sense because HoIL and Starfire were nerfed...for the name reason, bungie doesn't want infinite ability spam on a single target without needing kills.
not denying that YAS was powerful and needed a look at, just odd for it to be singled out with the current state of other more powerful builds
Most of the community still hasn’t woken up to blight ranger
Funny enough, I use it with void hunter to cover up the survival for a well rounded hunter.
the best content creator making the best video for the best class :)
A master Graviton Hunter could flawless a GM by themselves without losing shields - it would just take them forever.
Precisely
Gyrfalcons isn’t the strongest exotic but if I want to have some fun doing a solo dungeon it’s the go to
Young ahamkara use to be my favorite exotic, the reason why i keep playing this game, the reason why i made all the dungeons flawless, the lost sectors GM flawless, all the nightfalls GM with my friends, this exotic was all the reason why i got so excited when my friends call me for play... Now, i don't have real reasons to play this game anymore, the insane ahamkara loop, the simple idea of *kaboom* everything, the survivor, the constant dps even when u are run out of bullets, I really hate pvp, i hate everything about pvp, i never said anything bad about pvv, it was for me like, one game mode that i never played but now, i have to pay and suffer the consequences of fuckin ppl crying about everything, pvp players are playing the role of being a victim about everything, they cry because this because that because EVERYTHING, it's disgusting it's stupid, i really hope to be there when pvp mode dies
I want to see with my own eyes when this stupid game mode get the last update
bro, if you're only playing the game because of a single exotic and you're this mad, you shouldn't be playing at all tbh 💀💀
@@tempestasha nah I used all the hunters exotics, like the truly exotics like renewal, like star eatet, like lucky pants, assassin's Cowl, gyrfalcon (the most braindead build), oathkeeper, barkis, Caliban etc the strongest. I played all of them several hours, and I can say, any other exotic is not fun to play (arc and stasis are great but I dunno, it's not my style) and of course this is all about my opinion I know those exotics are pretty good but meeeen c'mon, the risky and the emotions but also the highly rewards when I played with YAS... I can find another exotic like that, I'm thinking to stop playing this game but yisus all the money that I spend, all the hours went to a trashcan just because ppl crying in pvp...
22:03 real words were spoken
44:59 ngl I’d be interested in a video like that
Hunter verticality its awesome, but long jumps are always a struggle without triple jump or stompees so yeah I actually use stompees in pve most of the time
Mactics gonna cry if he ever sees that omni placement
Section on Gwisin vest made me laugh. I can't help but feel like you were overly harsh on Liar's. I've always thought the most valuable part was that you didnt need kills to get the healing but I can buy that that isn't relevant if you are playing optimally. Anyways gg thanks for the vid.
Liar’s is also bugged, and doesn’t work when you have Lethal Current active, which makes it a lot weaker than it should be. 😔
Great video. But there are some weird niche things that can raise up some exotics armors. Like perma super with Nighthawk
not cheating, just need multiple hunters with golden gun, every time they super they make enough orbs for the other hunters to use to regain supers and so on. pretty much infinite golden gun squad.
Plus the melee severing targets is a huge 40% decrease to their outgoing damage. It's mega usefull.
defensive capabilities > offense. why do this whole divert aggro, debuff damage and suspend a few things when it has 0 damage. strand hunter is fun af and very cool but it has no use cases and gets outclassed at every turn@@admiraltraunt6150
I'll definitely reevaulate Threadrunner next season when these videos get updated!
Just to clarify, I did not mean to sound overly critical of your opinion. It's a game and we al have our preferences. Try Whirling Maelstrom with the new Mothkeepers gauntlets W/ Widow's silk aspect. Plus throw in Quicksiver and you have an Ad clearing monster for high end PVE content. Awesome Vid as well!

If smoke bomb could suppress enemies it would be much more viable
Using everything for day 1, definitely arc and void hunter are better than solar, arc being arc and gyrfalcons really is as powerful as we say it is. Try it with devour breach build and you can’t die. I can say the only downside is that it’s very gun dependent, if you don’t have the right void guns you don’t get much from the exotic. But after YAS nerf it just shoved solar to really be below the other class options. Nighthawk also just doesn’t get value until we see the buff statistics, blade barrage fish boots will always be the better option for now whenever you are allowed to pull off blade barrage.
Pre-popped Nighthawk is higher DPS than Blade, also this list isn't just for day 1
I understand the list isn't for just day 1 as you stated it for endgame content, and I do need to evaluate how much golden can truly do.
Its problem is that Nightstalker isn't in the best spot atm
@@TheAegisRelic yeah true, it's not-there's definitely better options other than Nightstalker for sure. But, in GMs and some encounters in dungeons, Nightstalker isn't a bad pick at all. It's very consistent and fun to use imo, which should be the most important thing.
Yeah I'm making a consistency focused list next season
Lucky pants not being in at least A tier is a crime
Honestly it's overrated but maybe gets a tier shift next season
Raiden Flux deserves to be ranked higher. I've been running gms with it and it allowed me to clear a room full of majors and champions in one minute without me breaking a sweat. With otb generating setup you can get your super very quickly and nuke literally everything in the room, no one can stop yiu even in gms.
I would put it at least at the top of B tier
It only affects your super and for doing so it isn't worth the tradeoff pretty much ever imo
very informativ video, keep up the great work :)
Funny how they buffed spectral blades for PvE and its still easily the worst super in the game. It still hits like an old man with a pool noodle and you just phase through enemies
