Dylan great looking truck and I appreciate you being a real user of something your reviewing I have a 6 litter and love it I do wish i had a Allison transmission
Awesome looking truck! I just bought a 24 2500 LT gas silverado. I love it so far. I really enjoy the new interior. I also wish i had the bed camera for my 5th wheel! I called gm to ask if it can be added and they told me no. Maybe could try aftermarket, not sure.
Thanks Dylan. I picked up a 2024 Silverado 3500 6.6L a few days ago. I had a Ford 6.7 diesel for 12 years prior to that. The 6.7 engine finally blew up at 102k miles and needed a new one which would have cost me $21k. Might as well buy a new truck if I'm going to spend that much, so I did. Giving GM a chance and so far, I'm impressed. My only concern is hearing reports of excessive oil consumption while towing, and getting my truck and camper into gas stations during road trips. I'll miss the high flow diesel pumps and more space to maneuver on the tractor trailer lots, but I wont be missing the DEF and all the emission issues I've had to deal with over the years using it.
Yes, it is aggravating when fueling back up with a trailer. My truck has 26000 miles on it now. It might use one quart per oil change. Running 7000 mile oil changes.
Still waiting on mine, z71 sport edition is under constraint and now the UAW is headed to strike by September 14. So i won’t be seeing my rig for awhile. Glad to see people are getting the new front fascia

I’m seriously thinking of getting a GM gas for my next truck. Love my Cummins, but I very rarely tow anything anymore. Actually could use the extra payload gained from the lighter engine. Just don’t truly need a diesel. And now that they are a $10-12k option over gas it makes even more sense.
Nice truck. I am looking at a 24’ 2500 HD gasser with a service body on it for my HVAC business. I have heard that the motor will burn oil. Have you had that experience????
Nice video. I own a relatively new 1500... couldn't justify a beast like a 2500. But I do love the idea of the 6.6... if I ever blow out my engine I will see if I can stuff a 6.6 crate in my 1500. :D (Kidding, I don't expect that to happen).
Na, we never did get around to making one for Robert's truck. If you go back and look at our newest farm equipment tour video, there are some clips where we look at Robert's truck in it.
This is a nice review from a real world usage. I remember watching the review from the 2021 too. I have a 2022 2500 LT with the 6.6 gas truck and I love it. It has just over 31,000 miles now and so far it’s been so good. I drove it every day and tow my 8.5’x24’ enclosed car trailer with it. Does a good job. I’m tempted for a new 10 speed because I have no doubt it’s an improvement towing, especially on grades over the 6 speed but interest rates are just way too high for me to pull the trigger at this point. Beautiful truck.
Man, if interest rates were the same as when I bought my 21 model, this would have been a sure enough sweetheart deal. My white truck had 35000 miles on it when I traded. I'm trying to stay in a newer truck than I used to. My 21 has been my favorite truck I have ever owned. I would still be driving it if it had the newer-style interior.
@@DylanJoyceFarms yeah I’d probably trade too if I could get the same rate I have on my 2022 to just start the mileage over again like you are talking about.
Great review! I got a 23 GMC and the 6 speed does fine for me. I'm currently in Alaska, pulled our 12,000 pound fifth wheel up with no problem and got 9.7 mpg doing it! Super happy and actually is better mpg than my old diesel!! Unfortunately I didn't get the bed camera, but I wasn't going to pay thousands more either. LOVE the bed steps and multi pro tailgate. The horrible dinging of the seatbelt reminder was actually causing me to wear it LESS because I was having to leave it buckled behind me. It's bad. So I fixed it.... (Just look for the connector under the seat and disconnect....) 😁 Now I actually wear out on the highway. When you're constantly getting in and out on dirt roads you can't have that stupid dinging going all the time.... What a great truck!
Is that all you had to do was just disconnect the connector? I was well satisfied with the 6 speed. I had plans to trade even if they didn't start putting the Allison transmission in. Thanks for watching!
@@DylanJoyceFarms yes, just disconnect it! I thought I needed a jumper but no, apparently when the belt is fastened it opens the circuit which finally stops the dinging..... It's kinda hard to get to. Would be easier to just cut the wire but I wanted to be able to put it back if I need to someday

Duramax is nice engine but it now isn’t worth the extra expensive in both purchase price and cost of fuel maintenance and the performance you are going to get out of it after the idiocy of government regulations they put on the once great engines. Beautiful truck you purchased thanks for the review! 👍👍

I have the exact truck. I was able to get the really nice 20" wheels, but the dealer did tell me that the wheels that I got were on "dealer constraint".
I haven't gotten to see the 20-inch wheels that they are putting on the LTZ's yet. I have seen the 20-inch high country wheels and wish I could have found a set to put on mine, but happy with what I ended up with.
I’ve got an older pre-emissions low mile Duramax and I’ll prob keep it. But if I did buy a new one I think it be that gas motor. They are great performers and look great too! Enjoy 🍻
The old Duramax were great engines. Especially the 2006-2007. This new 6.6 has great power, but it really likes gas when pulling hard. I went back to a gas due to the expense and the emissions issues with the new diesels. Thank you for watching.

The gas milage difference between your 21 and 24 trucks might be the size of the tires. Your 24 speedometer and odometer were calibrated for 18" wheel tires. If they did not recalibrate the truck when they put different size tires, your speed and distance will read about 5% low. So, maybe your truck may get about the same gas milage at highway speeds. 🙂
