Great instruction video. Thank you. The bed takes a few minutes to set up but it’s a simple and straightforward process. This will be great for my large swag as a solo camper.
Ben, is this XL Darche stretcher an improved model on the Darche Kozi stretcher? I’d prefer a 1400 stretcher with a centre bar. Is the Kozi still available for purchase? Thanks for your advice.
@@little_darln1851 we don't have the Kozi version. I'd recommend either the OZtrail double (www.snowys.com.au/easy-fold-queen-stretcher) or the Zempire double (www.snowys.com.au/twin-speedy-stretcher-bed). ~ Ben
I have one ... the slope to the middle is a thing but still miles above a bar in the middle. Compromise. The only downsides I have are the weight and the number of pinch points in assembly/disassembly.
It will overhand on the sides a little but is otherwise a good option, as good as any other 1400 swag anyway, but especially given it is a freestanding swag. ~ Ben
I was getting really interested in this product until I saw fitting two single self-inflating mattress does not really work. I have 2 x Exped DeepSleep 7.5 LXW, and I can see using these two with the stretcher will cause a slope towards the centre - not to mention the overhangs on the sides. ☹
On their website and YT, Darche picture this with a Nebula swag, which is a bit wider at 1550mm. Is the Nebula an OK match for this stretcher in your view?
Yeah, all good for it to be wider - can be the way to go if you're expecting rain and frost, etc. The rain roll off to the ground instead of getting caught between the stretcher & the swag floor. Be mindful these ones sag in the middle as they dont have the central bar. ~ Lauren
I decided not to go to the length of showing swags on this stretcher as the decision on whether it is suitable is largely dependent on matching the swag footprint with the stretcher dimensions. I would have otherwise just shown a swag on a stretcher. As long as your swag is a true 1400 width then id should fit neatly widthways and you've got over 2 metres of length, and a freestanding swag would be best. ~ Ben
I am pretty interested on this. We still got our Darche Frontier 1100 swag. Wonder if it will stand on top of it. I know there will be spaces on the side given the size of this stretcher is 1400 but it might actually do🤔
Its generally better to use a 1100 swag with a 100cm stretcher like the standard Oztent RS-1, Darche XL 100 or 23Zero Husky Ideally the edge of the swag will hang over the edge of the stretcher which prevents moisture from frost or dew, or rain, getting between the swag based and the stretcher bed. Also dirt and debris that always ends up around the place when camping. The 1400 stretcher is ideally recommended for 1400-1550 swags Hope that helps ~ Lauren

Great demonstration. Please open up in Melbourne!
Darche slope in the middle kills the sale though, for two people.
The slope in the middle is a sticking point, something that's hard to overcome without a bar down the middle. ~ Ben

Hi, just wondering if a 23zero 1400 bandit would be a good fit for this stretcher

Yeah, not quite big enough for two single mats unfortunately. ~ Ben

@@SnowysOutdoors yep, that's a great point. Thanks for the reply 👍
@1chrisandrew1 did you buy one for you're nebula ?. I have same swag and wondering how it went
@@danhammersley8348 not yet. Have only used the swag a couple of times, but I'm pretty sure it'll work ok when we decide to buy one 👍
What about for 23zero 1550 outbreak swag? Do you have any?
The Outbreak is a bit wider, it could work but not ideal. ~ Ben
Darche are slow to stock, been waiting for weeks to get my hands on one
Yeah, we heard about it some time ago and are still waiting for stock. ~ Ben
Can you show it with a 1400 swag on it?

Ya teasing us Ben, no stock.... 😢😢😢😢
Yeah, sorry, we can't get any stock from Darche yet, we used a demo model for this video which is why it's a touch dirty. ~ Ben
Forget about me buying one for $500 😮
It;s not for everyone. ~ Ben
Anyone know how to get one shipped to usa
We only ship within Australia, there is a USA branch for Darche though, they might be a good starting point - darche-usa.com/. ~ Ben
Bad timing when you can’t buy one!
Really
We can't get any from Darche yet sorry, this was a demo model. ~ Ben
No thanks. Too many parts and takes too long to setup. Could they have made anything more pointless for camping?
Setup is not much longer than a single stretcher. That being said, it won;t suit everyone. ~ Ben
