Wow that's beautiful. I'm so happy I have the memories of my parents laughing and loving.when I heard their laughter thru out the house i felt safe and loved.
For me when Davy died it was the end of the sweet memories of my childhood... I was only seven or eight but he was my first crush you made me feel happy and special... Rest in peace Davy
My childhood is gone w all of the Monkees. It is a bittersweet pain. I was 10 when I discovered them, Davy was coming to find me n we would be happy ever after. Most every lil girls dream. RIP, Davy, Peter n now Mike. You will be forever loved n missed. 😘🤗💔
I was just shocked to hear of Davy's passing. He was so young. And then Peter died a few years later. And now Mike is gone. I supposed they would live forever. I still listen to my vinyl records that I will never part with. The music is dying. The music of my youth.
My friend and I saw Dolenz, Jones, Boyce and Hart at Disneyland in 1976. We went back again the next night. I had such a crush on Davy. He walked out wearing blue satin bell bottoms and a white long sleeve shirt with a v neck. Pirate style. Only time in my life I understood why girls used to scream over their idols. ♥️♥️
I have been a lifelong Beatles fan since 1963 when I was 10yrs old, and when The Monkees came along I was annoyed at all The comparisons to The Fab4 but as time went on I came to admire The Monkees and when they started playing their instruments and writing their own music I became a fan with Mike and Micky being my faves, but Davy was a lovely little lad with a lovely voice and Shades Of Grey is my all-time fave Monkees Track Davy and Peters voices are really cool. Rest In Eternal Peace Davy, Peter and Mike, Thanx for all The Fab Music.😢😥💔💔💔❤😥😰
Davy was my VERY FIRST Crush... nevermind I was only eight. I can still feel the same butterflies in my stomach as I did way back then, every time I saw Davy... it is one of the most special and precious memory I will treasure forever, and I do mean forever. Thank you sweet Davy now with the angels... Thank you for making my first crush so sweet and memories of my childhood incredible.
When David ThomasJones was about 13or 14years old when I finally find out i was ❤ breaken.he was of my favorite monkees out of peter mike micky and Davy out of the four Davy Jones I feel in love with Davy Jones
As everyone else. Davy. Was my childhood memories and now gone into heaven i miss him every day. I tnink of him every day. Davy. Mike. Peter. Sing to us from the world above. We. Love you all
I had the sweetest pleasure of my life, seeing Davy perform and then meeting him... As with every teenage girl in the world wished, he was going to come find me and marry me! Such innocence... That was Nov of 2011... 4 months later he was gone... And like every woman of a certain age, in this world, I cried and grieved... Thank you Davy for being so kind to us... You were a class act and an amazing man.... the photo of you and I, is one of my most treasured possessions... You are missed by all your fans but most of all, you are missed the most by all the girls whose hearts you stole...😢
When the Monkees TV show came on in 1966 I was 10 years old. Davy was my big crush then. I always watched the Monkees every Monday night instead of doing my homework.
Rest In Peace Davy Jones 😢😢. Davy Jones new about him passing away was very sad. He has really wonderful songs he made for us and his Family. The Monkees Show was wonderful. Davy Jones is a wonderful Actor and Singer. My heart Goes out to his Family and Friends. Davy Jones was My Favorite Monkees on The Monkees Show.
Here it is 10 years later & still have tears in my eyes. Phenomenal talent in so many ways. Fell in love with him when I was 12 yrs old. My nephew sent me a video shortly after Mike passed away of a band playing Last Train to Clarksville. Cried my eyes out. And what can we say about dear, silly, amazingly talented Peter? A special part of my childhood still here in my memories. My favorite,Davy. Much thanks to all & crazy Mickey for their talents & kindness in sharing with us.
Ahh the Monkees the reason I started playing the drums and thanks to my parents who didn't discourage me. What a great time to be a kid...Davey I will miss you
BEST Davy Jones Tribute I have seen on UA-cam and thanks for sharing! This VERY touching song really said it all on how we felt when we found out that Davy had died. I met him once after a show and he was a real gentleman. Davy, Peter and Mike left this life much too soon and may they all rest in peace.
I despised his last wife. I thought she was a manipulative bitch who only married him for his money! I remember reading in them magazines about how she gave him a black eye and cracking his ribs with her shoe. If I ever meet her face to face I would definitely whoop her ass!
@@melissacooper4282 Not sure how his wife caused him to die of a massive heart attack. Perhaps it was reported that way in a tabloid, or a conspiracy theory?
@@melissacooper4282 I remember reading about all that violence from his last wife too. I also recall the stage crew tried to keep her away because she always wanted to be part of the act. I do not know how a guy like Davy so absolutely adorable ended up with such a mean ruthless woman but it is tragic. Stress can do a lot to a person, also broken ribs and a black eye. And that's just what we have read. Who knows what else went on? RIP Davy. You are missed!
Among the Monkees though I like them all..Davy Jones is my favorites..my husband used to sing his songs especially SHADES OF GRAY ,ILL BE TRUE TO YOU AND MY FAVORITE IS I'M A BELIEVER..more is when he danced with this song..I'm so sad that he passed away
I'm a lesbian, David was the only man I fell in love with in my life, when I was a child, perhaps because of his delicate features, he is my favorite monkeey, when he died I cried for about 4 days in a row, I miss this good time, thanks for this.
This tune brings tears......oh how I miss my childhood and the innocence......This band was a huge part of my coming of age!! SADLY, REST IN PEACE DAVY.....
I lived in an insane household and when I would get sent to my room I will play their records. They literally kept me alive. I wish I could tell Micky dolenz that. I ended up having 5 kids who turned out great, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. I don't think I would be here if it wasn't for them. I contemplated suicide many times and tried three times. Thank you to all of you
The first verse of this song is sung by Davy. Then after the chorus the second verse is sung by Peter. Now they are the first two who are gone....in that order. Just one of those weird coincidences that happen in life sometimes
This is a great video in tribute to Davy. I have faith we will see him in Heaven again. I also remember the episode where Davy said his goodbyes to his friends before planning to move to England with his grandfather. I know it was only acting but tears were coming out like crazy on my part.
They only used it once on the show. It was in the summer 1967 rerun version of the episode The Success Story. It replaced the slow version of I Wanna Be Free which was used in the original broadcast for the part where Davis is walking along the beach
They have TOO MANY INCREDIBLE Songs! The Songwriting and Production featured in this 1960-70's TV Series was Visionary and Encaptured EVERYONE who views the Shows. Truly LEGENDARY! Gosh makes me feel old I was handling uxo when they were busy singing and running their telly show I met em once but they couldn't remember me so I forgot them a passing phase you could say
"The greatest thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother."

Rest in peace, Friend. Thanks for the memories.

So sad. It seems like only yesterday it was 1967 and I was watching them on TV in the UK.
Me too, Keith. The Monkees show was such fun and the highlight of my childhood Saturday evenings!

The music will always be there...years after you and I are gone...
I drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry.

It still hurts that he’s gone even 10 years on. My early childhood crush. ❤️
Childhood is such a magical special time I think the older we get the more we realize that, when a part of it goes,we feel it deeply.rip.
That is absolutely true .
Yes that really is so true..the older I get the more I miss the people of my youth..The monkees were supposed to live forever
Spot on comment!

I'm first generation Monkee fan. Davy is my favorite. Tears fall everytime I see him, hear him sing. 💔❤️
I had a big crush on Davy. Watched their weekly show religiously. He was SO cute.
Hated that he passed at a seemingly young age. However, the life he lived was so full! Can't do better than that!
I don't know if I'm crying because Davy is gone or if I will never see that era again.
It's probably both.
I was 8 I miss then so much ;(
I loved those days
For certain , it's we'll never see that era again.♥️🌹❤️✝️☮️🕊️

Found a second-hand Monkees LP today in a charity shop and that brought me here. That's such a lovely tribute. The ending has me in tears.

Davey so much talent and beautiful guy. Rip
I always loved that song - since the very first time I heard it. Just sublime this song.
I was just a pre teen when The Monkees appeared on 📺.
The ones that past were too young .
My first crush was Mickey
The voice mixing in this is great how each chorus gets higher or louder. Great, simple, profound song from a great era.
Every time we lose one, we also lose part of our childhood.....and it hurts.....a lot. RIP guys
The end of an era…his well rounded talent will always be remembered as special!

Great song. Rip Davy
Long Live The Monkees! Davy died too soon 9 yrs ago.

Once in the early days. To get home to see his Dad, he dressed as a girl to fool the crowds waiting around his father's house.
I met him in Lake Tahoe. He knelt down & kissed my hand.
One of my favorite.Monkees songs RIP Davey
Loved both Davy and peter

@@susanmccormick6022 ... No. It was written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
