Also in my analysis, Ma Long can read the opponent and himself more than anyone on earth. He does that like reading a book. Though Alexis has many variations in skills but by mind no one can replace G.O.A.T Long🙏🙏🙏

Sorry but I need to repeat my comment from last night which approved by the result 100% - FZD is a slow starter to all the matches and unfortunately not so strong mentally as Ma Long! He has to play 100% all the time and don't let games drop away. He has similar warming up problems and entering the zone like Zhang Jike. If the matches were in best of 7 he has time to warm up, otherwise he always faces problems. He is slow starter! Ma Long is still the CAPTAIN!

I would say that 'making less unforced error' is what played the major role here.
I would also mention Timo Boll as a good example of player who makes really little unforced errors which helps him stay on Top in his age.
Young talented players are fast, explosive, and powerful but they are luck of consistency yet an this is why they're losing while having all the tools to win.

    1. Alexis had BIG problems returning serve 2. Do or Die backhand didn't work 3. Malong forehand is impeccable

I guess Fan tried more to impose his attacking game while Ma Long tried more to disrupt Alexis attacking game.

The strength of Alexis` playing style is VARIATION while Ma Long is always good at ADAPTABILITY which means CHANGING CUSTOMIZIEDLY BY OPPONENTS & CASE BY CASE. It is a supreme capability. It is not bad for Alexis to loss before the top players. He needs to develop his variations MORE BY PURPOSES.

The most heavy pressure on Malong is when he has to maintain the reputation of the country and himself to win the game, while alexis in the opposite condition without pressure and as a dark horse, it looks once Malong thinks hard like a drafter is not a fighter anymore and his original playing style does not come out at all after having the upper hand only then did he start to dare to play rally after the 3rd game

  • @tekab1607

Thank you for the analysis, I agree with many points. Alexis has lots of variation on the serves which makes him impredictable. But true also that his backhand costed him many points. The day Alexis gets more consistent on this backhand, is the day he will get very, very strong (he is already don't get me wrong).
Also, if I may allow myself, we say "Alexis" without pronouncig the "s" and "Lebrun" without pronoucing the "'n"

Thé problem is that you never know if he'll ever get consistent with his BH.
His BH technique for a beginning is suspicious and for me is prone to errors

As the saying goes, Rising Stars were usually defeated by players with a myriad of experience. In the match, Malong was under heavy pressure to save face for China and his own big name, while Alexis, who was originally high confident, became unstable because his mentality was damaged by his own mistakes. Malong was also only able to bring out his original playing style in the 3rd game and so on

If you observe closely, the top European players playing top Chinese players have never been consistent even whey they seemed to be on top form. Could it be a mental block when playing against Chinese players?

    • @hcandra0083
      @hcandra0083 Рік тому

@@adamiskandar5107 Your opinion has some truth, but it is actually the role of the Chinese coach that makes the reputation soaring, try to notice several times in important events, both Malong and other players played poorly after halftime they turned to win the game. Once when Liu Goliang as a coach invited Malong to change shirts when time out and the results were amazing, so technical and non-technical factors are always present in every big player, especially beginners

Thanks for the videos and analysis. This is much appreciated but could you avoid giving away the outcome of the match in the title, please? Something like: " A. Lebrun vs Ma Long match analysis" would be as appealing as a title but would preserve the thrill of watching these match for those who haven't seen them yet. Thank you!

Alexis's match against FZD and Ma Long is a very good example for experience and mentality, Alexis was a knight playing mind-game to confuse FZD, but a pawn in fighting the Dragon who is too experienced in countering different styles

Well played by Ma Long. He see the young man can't be dangerous both wings plus the middle. Lebron missed to change the standing and was slow to understand Ma Long targeted his middle . Tough match but well played by Ma Long I don't know if Lebron will fix this nest time without left exposed other parts of the table , it will be interesting next time . all china players can attack more often than Lebron and if they placed the ball uncomfortable forcing weaker response Lebron will be forced to play over the limit and it is easy to get lost and make too many mistakes this way.
