I absolutely love playing my VS with a full size arcade stick now. That said, my arcade stick controller is just a hair over a foot wide, the Alpha squeezes it's control setup into only 9 inches of total width for the entire cab. I don't know, I think the Mega Man cab looks cool as hell, if I was going to get an Alpha, that's definitely the one that I'd get. I'm just so glad that you're talking about this and informing your viewers, and giving them a better idea as to what they're actually getting. I've seen a lot of talk online about how people want to build their own custom risers, to make it feel more like a full size cab, and I don't think they really understand the actual dimensions of those little systems. I totally agree with you though, I really do hope that they pick up and enjoy those Alpha systems too. I bet if they don't have an Evercade system yet, they'll really like it, and will probably end up buying a VS too, just so they can play their cartridges on a larger screen, and that'd be a big win for Blaze if that's the case.
I agree man! If I was going to get an Alpha, I’d definitely be going with the Mega Man cab as well. Glad you’re enjoying that arcade stick! It’s a game changer playing those arcade carts with one.
Im just glad nobody is taking these videos about the Alpha the wrong way. Like you said, I’m just trying to give everyone a heads up on what they’re paying for. It’d suck to fork out that type of cash and then be pissed because they were expecting something bigger lol. I really do hope they sell well because it’ll benefit everyone that plays the Evercade. I just have a bad feeling that they won’t sell as well as they anticipated. Hopefully I’m wrong though.

Something I wanted to ask, does your Mayflash F300 work on Super Retrocade?
Unfortunately the Mayflash F300 isn’t compatible with the super Retrocade. However, there is a Mayflash arcade stick that is compatible with it….but it’s unfortunately out of production. I will have to look up the name of it when I get a minute 👍
@@GameFreak1976Thanks Bud! That's a pity, such a neat device and great it supports the Retrobit Genesis/Megadrive 6 button controller but limited when it comes to arcade sticks. I did watch your 101 arcade stick vids, it almost worked. I wonder if having a second pad plugged in would allow you to insert coin that way with the 101?
Looking at the mayflash F300, if I was to get an arcade stick that to me is the best option for Evercade and xbox360 support is a bonus! I looked at the F300 Elite and it was a "no" from me..., I think the F300 is the better choice. Cheers again Game Freak!
My "Jaycade" Bartop (TATE Edition) that I built over the weekend has a DIY cabinet the approx size of the Alpha, 15.6" IPS 1080p Portable Monitor, Evercade VS and a Hori Mini Arcade Stick. All in it cost me around £270 if I'd bought all the components (approx $340). Costs for all components are £30 for the DIY enclosure, £90 for the Evercade VS, £120 for the screen, £30 for the mini arcade stick and nearly a day's work. So, at £270 this costs more than a Deluxe Evercade Alpha and even though it's unique and I love it, I'd generally recommend just pre-ordering the Alpha unless you really want to build your own :-) I can still repurpose all the components if I decide to get the standard Mega Man Alpha in November but I'll probably miss the bigger screen. Even with the 15.6" monitor in TATE orientation, the 4:3 games still have a 9" useable screen which is about 1" bigger than the Alpha's. Bear in mind that I'm in the UK and the cost of things can be much more expensive e.g. Arcade 1UP 3/4 size cabinets retail for £499-£650 over here! Keep up the awesome work :-)
I’d love to see the “Jaycade”! Doing it in TATE is a really cool feature. You’re right though, the cost is A LOT different than it is here. The Alpha is probably the better option in the UK from the sounds of the prices you mentioned 👍

I know as we old gamers keep aging, some of us don’t have the ability, skill set or resources to DIY (that said I will attempt one later this year, thanks for the encouragement)
So buying something prebuilt and in many cases smaller has its advantages to enough people that can support these and the CounterCades (I have one and love it)
The price point had me at first but then I though about the MSRP of the Countercades are $150-200 so going up a bit from there for one that has tons of games available via the cartridges beyond the stock games preloaded makes it worth the price delta over the Acarade1ups.
The tough thing is many people got thier Countercades well below MSRP, and I was one of them with a $100 Black Friday purchase.
So if these new Evercades can get to retail big box and also be subject to markdown sale prices I think they would also be a lot less at the transaction price.

After inheriting my fathers video game console collection, with boxes full of games, I looked at this console to avoid setting all the old consoles up, but it was too expensive, and bought a kinhank instead. Very happy with it. If I want to play the original systems, I will. Great video thank you for posting.

It definitely would have been more appealing if they were bigger with a bigger screen. The Alpha(s) are actually almost identical in size to the Arcade 1up Ms Pac-Man tabletop Arcade….which is pretty small. If you get time, I have a video showing the comparisons where I measure everything out.
I 100% agree though, these Alpha cabinets are WAY too small👍
$159.99 would have been the sweet spot perfect price for the alpha. They definitely missed that mark.
