- We brought Ralph the Monte Carlo to Heintz Racing for some dyno time! Our goal is to get a baseline number from the 6l80e transmission configuration before we tear it out and replace it with an American Powertrain T56 Magnum swap kit!

I let my mom wear my original OG SAW hoddies and she said I'm not getting it back. She said "it's so soft and keeps me warm where's yours? Cause this one is mine now" 🤔🤣 She's one of the people that are always cold. So that speaks volumes about the quality of the hoddies. I guess I'm gonna have to buy another one for myself.

Yeah buddy I never would of bought my 85 trans am if it had a junk auto in it. Nothing beats a clutch and a shifter handle. I love my 5 speed manual vortec 350 swapped trans am.

Quick thought - I get why so much black merch, but not all of us roll around under cars :-). … please consider some lighter colored t’s (but not asking for white)…. Yellow? Tie dye , light blue, etc… yea I know, you have tons on your plate and don’t need more, but… just think how good Morgan would look in a not; black, white, gray or navy t :-). … and it might help us other guys look better to the ladies in our life. Not bad, 543hp with no fuel pressure. Get that pressure fixed it’ll be over 600 for sure. I think you guys should do hand written notes on whatever you can find, expired Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, Starbucks receipts etc.😂

Oh hell yes, love the idle sound on that beast-----not super rough but choppy in an authoritative manner and reeking of horsepower. You have some fuel delivery issues to sort out, but, all in a day's work!

I'm old so the first thing you did to s Buick Grand National was put a relay with a10 gauge wire from the front to tank Detwiler made it ideal that plugged into the back of the alternator when the boost rolled n it would go from 15 to 16 volts🙂🙂🙂🙂 smart man he's was !! would would gain 15 or 20 % in fueling we didn't have everything is done by prom chip and fuel pressure and you turned a lot by fuel pressure

That was an important dyno day, the Monte would've hurt a piston otherwise when you went to play with it hard, saved a bottom end rebuild right there!!! Having a live wideband to watch can also be very handy when making power so maybe you can lift in time to save some pistons!

Just stated watching your UA-cam stuff and that's the reason for my late post on a year old video. But I gotta say I like your content. However, when you make a "fix it" video, you should really refer to parts by their correct names like "headlight bezel", or "headlight bucket" instead of that ringy thing, or spring thing. With so much BS content out there, correct terminology just reassures me that I can trust that you know what you are talking about, unlike so many that just want to see their own posts. However, at the same token, with 237k subscribers, I guess you don't have to prove yourself to me !!! BTW...those old school headlights are known as sealed beams...LMAO !!!! Keep on keepin on Bro... you guy's rock it !!!
When it comes to stuff like that taking the time to look up the proper name for it doesn't help me get it done or improve the finished product lol. Spring hook goes back in hole = headlight doesn't fall out. Good enough for me lol. Welcome to the channel!

It’s really not a heavy car
Most A body cars are at most roughly 3800 lbs and at the lightest roughly 3500 stock. They are large cars but not really heavy cars. They didn't get heavy until all the safety stuff started getting added in 75. There's a ton of open empty space between the frame rails of a lot of pre 75 cars.

Are you taking it back when you've sorted the wiring out to redo the Auto number or going straight in with the T56? Top work all round!

How does the 6L80E fit ? I have a 2007 L92 6.2L all aluminum and 6L80E out of a Escalade, for my 1971 Pointiac Lemans GT-37.
You’ll have to make the tunnel bigger. Cutting and adding material. A hammer won’t do it lol

I use the cheap digital volt meters from amazon. The ones that mount in the cigarette lighter hole.
hook one to the fuel pump wires. Put a camera on it and go for a ride. You can put one on each end of the
wire to check volt drop.
Dyno numbers in reverse, for science.

Switched from auto to Tremec manual in one of our S10's and never looked back. Gained 50 h.p. to the tires so proof of less parasitic loss! This is on a 600 h.p. N.A. motor engine dynoed. Truck runs low 10's with a carburetor.

I'm very curious to see what mine will make when I have it redynoed. I had a th400 in it before, now a t56. Should make at least 50 more hpees now , maybe more lol. Cheap converter i has was robbing power too
what is the widest tire you can fit on the rear without rubbing or cutting metal? For the size rim you have on assuming its a 15 or 16? I want a set of those size and I want to get staggered 20/22 but don't want to get to wide of a tire.
Duty shouldn't go above 90%(some say 80% but ehh..), it leaves room for the injector to recover for the next firing event...

Different torque converter different transmission the problem will be solved the motor is putting off too much torque in the converter can't hold it it's letting loose and therefore the motors are under the moon and the transmission is not going anywhere

I had similar issues with my tanks inc and 400lph walbro pump. It would have fuel starvation issues. I also ended up upgrading my wiring to a 10ga wire and i would have to keep the tank at 3/4 or full. Especially at the track. Anything less and on launch the fuel slosh would cause starvation. Turns out the tanks inc tanks aren’t properly baffled for efi as advertised. I ended up installing a fuel cell with a in tank holley fuel pump module and a new 400lph pump problem solved. Now this may sound dumb but what was your fuel level at during the dyno session, speaking from my experience…
It wasn’t a full tank I know that. Thanks for the information that’s helpful. We will change the pump upgrade the wiring and make sure it’s full full next time we hit the dyno 😂
@@Stapleton42 if you have any questions let me know, we pretty much have similar combos. I too run the BTR PDS stage 3 cam. When you get all your bugs worked out this beast will be a low 10, possibly a high 9 second land yacht. Easy 630rwhp to 650rwhp combo. I’ll be more than happy to share my tune file (hptuners) if there’s any data you can use off it.
