- Mouse Grip Styles.. EXPLAINED!
In this video I'll go over my experience with each grip styles and some pros and cons to look out for. I wanted to make this video for some time now with everything that I've learned over the past year when it comes to grip style. I personally don't think one grip style is better than the other the best grip style will be the one you play best with. All have their strengths and weaknesses.

Ah yes, the infamous arthritis grip
Avatar: The Last Grip Blender
@@dom7488 that might have issues in game. Have you ever noticed?
I personally have a fingertip grip but it’s slightly sifted into a more palm grip because I have small hands
Fingertip gang 😎
Hello there

Aye
yeah it's me
Oh shit didnt expect to find you here at 4 am
So my grip is called Relaxed Claw? I thought I was playing Palm. 😆 I’ll check out the Claw style.

Eaxact same thing for me
Same here I like a good palm contact but I dont really put my whole arms weight on my mouse. And with my pinkie and thumb I lift my mouse ever so slightly like not even a millimeter so that friction cant slow me down when I'm tracking. I'm using the Model O- and this strategy seems to be working pretty well in Overwatch at least

Great video man, really appreciate how in-depth you went into everything. As far as I'm concerned this is the definitive video on this. After watching many over the years.
As always great vid man!
One very important thing is to always re-center to your original resting position so that when you aim at a foe you can track properly without running out of reach. This is a very needed practice to get as fast as you can possibly get it.
I appreciate you trying to go in detail on this topic. It's such a dense topic with a lot nuance, while dpi/mouse sens, mouse shape, and hand size being major factors as well. Overall great video!
hey BT you are the first person on the earth who made me think about changing my grip type! Great video and great to have you here
This is the absolute best video on mouse grips I have found. Thank you brother.
This is the second vid I’ve watched on your channel, and I’ve got to say man you’re pretty informative on these things. Definitely earned yourself another sub and I think your channel is underrated! Keep up the good work man!
Thanks jack appreciate that! Happy holidays!
I’ve been watching for a year and som months I think 💭 and I don’t understand how you only get 80k views approx after a month. I love you’re contente, you deserve more views . Keep it up 👍
Favorite youtuber still killin it! Proud of you BT
Very thank you for this video I've learned very fast the pros and con of the all grips mouse :)
Useful video thank you,I've gotten use to the claw grip and I adjusted it a little and now i found the sweet spot thank you ❤❤❤🔥🔥
Brandon you deserve way more than you have. Your vids help so much. Thanks
Thanks for this BT! Learned a lot. :)
Awesome video dude, got my sub!
Man you make such well produced videos, this is one of your best.
Thanks bro really appreciate that!
Excellent video best description of mouse grips i could find
That was a great video; succinct, informative, and well said.
Very insightful tyvm!
Thx so much, I realized I have a habit of slightly changing my grip every once and a while when I play, and keeping the same grip really helped me
Yeah i realized the same
It's good to be accustomed to a wide range of grip styles. Different FPS mechanics will benefit from blending multiple grip types. If you play Overwatch, you'll like end up with 4-6 different grip styles for different heros.
Good video and breakdown of the mouse grips, thank ya.
I didn’t even know about grip styles but have been using claw apparently since day one just felt natural

i actually tried palm once and the misclicks i did were insane because of my hands completely resting
Great video as always!👍
Perfect explanation. Had a larger G602 which forced palm/claw. Great for flicks, terrible tracking. Switched to a smaller Viper Mini which I fingertip. Much better tracking, some instability involved with side button use.
The quality of this video is astonishing keep up the good work
Actually very nice video! It made me realise that i had fingertip grip and its not that good playing valorant so ill try to change to clawgrip! Thanks Brandon Taylor, you won yourself a sub!
fingertip makes my flicks and tracking go so well
i use fingertip since i always loved smaller mice
I have a hybrid of both palm and claw. Good for tracking when playing on low sens and a good balance of fast movement and aim stability.
Great vid as always BT. Keep up the grind.
Really helpful vid thanks man
OMG thank you so much this helped a lot. You just earned a sub👍
Love your content man. I actually use the Glide mouse pad you use. Keep it up g much love
I moded my model O- to allow some *elevated palm support.*
As a result I'm having the best of finger tip and claw.. wide finger adjustments WITH palm stability for flicks.
Thank you for the info!
Use fingertip with arm aiming in my opinion it's the best most accurate aiming style. it's like you're just holding a pencil and drawing, full control :D
Insane quality, content well explained and video footage fits perfectly.Another great video BT!❤👌
Btw what lens do you use for your camera in this video?
THanks Alenyx! love that you appreciate that about my videos because its something I strive for!
Good video man 👍
Thank you for the advice. It is helping me train to be better at pc gaming
Great video BT! Much needed video tbh had no clue grip i was using and needed to switch it up to get my gaming to the next level, hopefully this works, will be switching to a claw grip, is it possible on the skoll?
BT takes the best shots out of all reviewers bruh that’s y I been subbed to him since the first video I watched keep killing it man
Haven't even watched the entire video yet but right off the bat
Awesome video quality man
Feels like a MKBHD Vid
Love it ❤👍
This helped me out a lot
Great video just subbed
Another great video keep up the good work!
Thanks lonious!
very good produced informational content. You have a real talent for this keep going.
Thanks bro!
I use what you call the "Relaxed palm grip" I have a cheap redragon mouse right now but am hoping for a model o for christmas
Zekronn same
Model d?
Same man I've tried other styles but palm grip is much more comfortable
Don’t get the model o unless you’re gonna paracord it trust me the default wire it comes with is garbage mines broke with normal use within a few months
Got a redragon currently ordering a model o tomorrow weird huh
Great vid
TY
I see you keep switching monitors. Are you going to do a 2019 monitor round up?
I’m relaxed claw grip. Tried a few times to change grip but that’s what I always go back to.
I would just like to say this is a very high quality video. What software do you use to make your videos?
wonderful video! thank u
Nice video!!
my guy been waiting for this vid for tiiimmmmeee
finally had time to make it! thanks for watching!
Hey love the video 🙂 I'm new to pc gaming and this is helping
I've been playing palm for ages now and my aim just always lacked finesse no matter what I did to change my sensitivity around nothing ever seemed to work...until I started playing fingertip now on 750dpi and 6% sens I'm absolutely in heaven
Awesome video, I use palm grip and claw grip on my Model O!
Another banger BT finger tip Grip here.
nice video keep up the work
Dope video!
phenomenal
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! After watching this I realized im most comforrtable with fingertip claw, and im hitting headshots on top of headshots! tysm!
Hmm. This explains why I like a small mouse so much! Great video. 👍
best vid yet. But i commebted on ur top 5 mousepads and i asked does the zowie divina g-sr have no stitching like the g-sr-se. PLZ ANSWER (:
I just got my first gaming mouse, on from a budget (but pretty ergonomic) office mouse. It feels super slick but kinda slippery and I use a fingertip grip to game (R6) but it kept slipping out my hand when trying to flick/readjust. This video was super helpful as I now know thats a normal limitation of fingertrip grip, I didn't even know about claw and feel that could definitely help. Thanks for the upload (y)
This fr helped me
I started out finger style, but since i was new and sucked at everything mechanics wise, i switched to palm because i was initially more consistent with it. Ive tried claw before, but i didnt get that the whole point is to flick with the wrist, and then detach to track. Whenever i tried claw id use it the same as palm. Didnt know you could combine the god aim with flicking. Bouta try this in a minute. This helped a lot
I was thinking of changing from claw to fingertip, but I think claw is the most forgiving grip and you can use the side buttons land have a little bit of verticality like the fingertip grip
Very nice video! I notice nobody mentioned using a wrist rest-not even once in 834 comments!-what's up with that?
Essential part of my desk furniture-on KB as well-since I had to swap mousing hand due to RSI.
Thank you BT for HQ vids as always ❤️
Thanks for this helped me thinking about my claw grip been tying it for a bit
Are you still using claw grip?
@@pyrowacko583 yep still am
My man has a mouse bungee with a wireless mouse. Legend
Great Video
Bt should start vlogging he is so much good with the camera
good video, well explained
I never knew I use claw grip, until this video! Thanks. That explains why I dont like massive mouses that forces you to use palm grip.
i love how you say scroll jumpers when i legit just take my finger off the shoot button to jump on my scroll lmao
3 years later still a banger 😍
About damn time
When i was a kid iused claw grip
I still use it its good thanks for video bro
Thank you for this. Do you have any recommendations for mice that are better suited for each grip style? More specifically for me, a fingertip grip. I currently have a Razer Deathadder Elite and don't find it very comfortable even after a year of use. I have medium sized hands if that makes a difference.
you get a like just for the Skeletor mousemat bro, that thing is sick! oh yeah the vid was great as well.😆
I’m a simple man, I see my fav UA-camr uploads I watch 3 times
POG!
Your the best bro keep up the good vids
Thanks Alex!
Awww yeah, I always wondered about this.
Thanks for the vid again BT! Favorite techtuber out there :)
Xero! Thanks for the support brother!
@@BTaesthetics Anytime man! And from your vid's pros and cons I'll probably swap from relaxed claw / palm to normal claw and see how that goes c:
Lets go BT
I'm a palm user that rests palm on the mousepad and switches to fingertip grip fine movement. One thing I noticed is I like big mice with some material to rest my ring finger and pinky on there. Razer Deathadder V2 seems to be the best shape for me.
Wanted to say thanks for the detailed visualizations of the different grips. Just learned that those even exist and yt suggested your video. Im suffering from wrist pain recently and seems to be it's already a tendonitis. pretty sure now my new razer pro click is too big for me using the fingertip grip. I had no issues when using the hp omen reactor. I'm not a gamer anymore so I just wanted to say your video als helped a CAD user. ;) Thx
You can learn to mouse with the other hand-I did it.
GF got wrist trouble earlier in the year, she ended up getting a Roller Mouse.
@@silversolver7809 thx for your response. bought the logitech mx 3 anywhere and it works perfectly, because i found out I'm using fingertip grip. doesn't work with big mice. ;) thx again
I use a relaxed palm with some of it touching the mousepad to provide a bit of friction for precise aim
I use finger tip and lining the thumb on the side button with the pinky gives you a lot of stability while you're pressing the button ( sry for my english but i'm italian 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹)
This was extremely helpful. Thank you!!!
I use a high up spider finger, my own mode, you hold your fingers up right for jitter clicking and the spider part comes in when i push the up and down mouse button on the side with my pinky and sometimes my middle finger, so basically a mix of claw and fingertip
N i c e
Needed this
Great timing because I just bought a viper ultimate and with palm I struggle to hit the right side buttons
I personally rock a fingertip for precise aim cus I use a high sensitivity.
Great video BT 👍🏼
me too. In my opinion high sens completely removes fingertip's weaknesses
serah maia but then you loose the consistency of having a low sens
@@isaac.e desagree, u just need time to adapt. Look Noted/n9ted/fpsnoted of C9, ex-R6 pro and now Apex pro player. His sens is insanely high (8-10cm/360°) and he is insanely consistent.
I don't know why this idea that low sense has more accuracy than high sense has been established.
Increasing the sense gradually is very easy to master the high sense, and in fact is more consistent, because less fatigue due to having to move less hand.
And you have a fixed base that stabilizes your aim, the wrist
@@isaac.e I think this idea of less consistency comes from using high sense with the wrong posture. Basing mouse movement on arm / forearm.
High sens is pure wrist aim and usually fingertip style
serah maia I use a relatively low sens of 32/360 with fingertip grip. What weaknesses were you talking abt?
I am able to aim very well with claw aim thanks for the great explanations.
Pretty sure shroud uses a relaxed claw? Right? Back when he played CS he arched his fingers but he doesn’t have them as raised anymore probably due to playing games with hold to ads as it’s easier to aim that way. Although from his mouse cam you can see him pull his mouse down with a relaxed claw (often when controlling recoil) which I don’t understand how he does that because that would mean he’s using a more fingertip style grip since he would have less of his palm rested towards the back of the mouse. If anyone has their own thoughts leave them below. Great video btw, very well made and explained! Subbed!
