My name is actually Jose Jimenez, and this has been an ice breaker when I say "my name is Jose Jimenez" whoever has heard of Bill Dana, always cracks up an doesn't believe me.
My brothers and I loved him when were kids. We thought he was one of the funniest guys in the world. As it turns out, we were right. May he rest in peace.
ROLMFAO!!!! I haven't heard any of these in probably close to 50 years or so when I was just a young kid and it's still as funny as hell today as it was back on day one! Just plain old comedy without the mean spirited shit of today. This is still SO F------G FUNNY!
We had an autographed copy of the album. Dad was the AF officer who was the head of the Astronaut and Training program for Project Mercury, so, got to meet with Bill.
In Los Angeles, this comedy routine was on the Top 10 charts when many L.A. radio played this sketch in 1960 or 1961. I first heard this in the '80s on L.A.'s then oldies station KRLA 1110 AM on the Johnny Hayes program while I was in junior high. 😁
Bill Dana one of the funniest men in America. Today his stuff would not ever make it on TV as it would be fixed with the word 'racist' much like good 'ol Speedy, who has been pulled or anything that might be termed not P/C.
Latino and African had to put on these acts to make. But you're right today it wouldn't fly. But the old stuff is still funny and it was done with great innocents.
I had completely forgotten about this old stuff until I saw an article today about a soccer player named Jose Jimenez who had thrown a dog off the field. Jose went the way of Amos and Andy. Too politically incorrect to mention anymore, but I knew UA-cam would have something. Now I've got to look up Amos n Andy
I remember seeing some of these on the old movie "The right stuff" Being able to hear the entire 8 minute segment is refreshing to say the least and very amusing. I miss the good old fashioned "Straight man" skits that they used to do.
Grew up listening to Mr. Dana, Archie Campbell, Jerry Clower, Ray Stevens, Of course Abbot and Costello, Jerry and Dean and the Stooges. Today's comedy is not even funny in comparison. This stuff was as clean as can be... no profanity, no sexual slurring and no racism. Today, without those components, 'comedians' won't make it. Sad. But hey, I came here to laugh. Thanks to ALL these old cats. You made MY world funny. Love you all.
FWIW: Joran van der Sloot's Peruvian attorney is Jose Jenenez in his latest murder case. When I read that, I was immediately brought back to Bill Dana's act.
That was Daws Butler, the voices of many familiar animated cartoon characters, including Yogi Bear, Quick Draw McGraw, Snagglepuss, and Huckleberry Hound.
Stupid public thin skinned public wanabe political correctness idiots made him do it ! He needed Gorge Carlin as a manager. The super funny Dana would have been much richer for it, and so would we !
My name is actually Jose Jimenez, and this has been an ice breaker when I say "my name is Jose Jimenez" whoever has heard of Bill Dana, always cracks up an doesn't believe me.
Ever have a lily white liberal call you a racist?
I sold a car to a young man who had your name. I couldn’t keep a straight face. He had never hurt of him.
I was just watching The Right Stuff again and one of the astronauts loves quoting this guy!
My parents had this on an LP record when I was a kid...now I have it on DVD...He's funny, even 50 years later...lol
I have this album in my childhood home. I always played it on our record player when I was a child. It still makes me laugh today.
RIP Bill We will miss you!
Still cracks me up - even after fifty years.
My brothers and I loved him when were kids. We thought he was one of the funniest guys in the world. As it turns out, we were right. May he rest in peace.
Just watching From the Earth to the Moon. Had never heard of this skit. Great! Thanks!
I use to have this on a 45 rpm when I was little! Great classic!
Wow, brings back one of my oldest memories. Never thought I'd hear this ahaih.
"I don't want to talk about it!" makes me laugh every time
I'm the chief "as tro noot".... that line always cracks me up.
I've been looking for this for YEARS!
This is great I looked for it for years THANKS
I remember listening to this album as a kid. My dad had it and it cracked me up.
Josés the Greatest!
The Latino equivalent of the 2000 Year-Old Man starring Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner.
Whatever UA-cam rabbit hole brought me here -thank you.

“You got to have four legs!” My dad loved to repeat that!
We had an autographed copy of the album. Dad was the AF officer who was the head of the Astronaut and Training program for Project Mercury, so, got to meet with Bill.
Wish someone would post "The Surgeon", where he tells the surgeon
to always before surgery wash your hands "if they're very dirty".
Don't close the door on that little mouse!!! God how great it was...
I was wondering when somebody was going to upload this. Was sure it was on UA-cam before but it must have gotten taken down. Classic stuff.

I recall seeing this guy on live tv. It had to be live, no recorders. No electronic calculators. No cell phones.
Funny day's. I miss alot
somewhere i have the bill dana show...

Wasn't there a line about, "How does it feel to hurdle through space?" "It hurtles! It hurtles".....?
This may be totally politically incorrect, but it is still one of the funniest things ever done.
That's absolutely correct 👍
i want more from 0:17 album
i need to find my records and post them this in stereo and mono
45 rpm also
Good stuff!
Can you post the skit about Jose Jimenez on the Olympic bobsled team?
I for one have, I find the history of manned space flight to very enlightening. Especially considering the context for manned space exploration.
"They take the little 'Mou"...:>)
FWIW: Joran van der Sloot's Peruvian attorney is Jose Jenenez in his latest murder case. When I read that, I was immediately brought back to Bill Dana's act.
Excellent. Don't suppose you have the whole album and would put it up? Thanks.
Look on Spotify
I'm Mexican American, and I'm not offended.
NEED ANOTHER SEVEN ASTRONAUTS!!!!!
do you have the rest of this album? Are you going to upload it. I love the fist fight gag but cant find it.
That would be Alan B Shepard
Because you have a sense of humour. When this came out many were very offended because they never actually listened to it.
I remember a record I had with Fred Flint
stone & Barney Rubble.
i work with a guy who talks just like this..
The real joke is that today NASA can not send an astronaut into space.
there is a stereo version
hey what does NASA stand for?????
back when America was allowed to be funny...
Hilarious.
This is an old girlfriend of mine, Henretta Culp's Uncle when I knew here.
I saw this as a kid !!!!!!!.............I never thought it was funny !
Pleases don't use that word crash helmet....Great!!!!
Who is the interviewer?
Is this the same comedian that did the voice of Elroy on the Jetsons (and other cartoon characters)?
That was Daws Butler, the voices of many familiar animated cartoon characters, including Yogi Bear, Quick Draw McGraw, Snagglepuss, and Huckleberry Hound.
Donald Ulrich
Don Messick did the voice of Elroy Jetson, not Daws Butler.
James Casselbury
Thanks for that information. I was curious because this guy, to me, sounded so much like Elroy.
James Casselbury I think you should check your sources. Elroy was definitely voiced by Daws Butler.
Got that right Jack!!!
the stupid commercial is a turn off.....
Today it´s more than politically incorrect is B.A.D!!!
Why is it totally politically incorrect??
Dana stopped doing demeaning ethnic humor back in 1970.
I am not a bigot, but this was funny. So was watching speedy Gonzalez cartoons.
Stupid public thin skinned public wanabe political correctness idiots made him do it ! He needed Gorge Carlin as a manager. The super funny Dana would have been much richer for it, and so would we !
Sucks. Wasn't funny then, isn't funny now. Fucking waste of bandwidth.
Then..why FUCKIN comment? What a waste of space..that'd be you. Stop sucking up all our air.🤣😂😘
@@beccadabeast5013 👍👏👏👏
