We really enjoyed the visit to the Russian countryside and hearing the stories from the old days of your Aunt. How different things were for sure. She and her garden reminds me of our Great Baba in Canada. Thanks for the tour!
What a nice wholesome video Slava! It's such a pity it is so difficult to travel to Russia (especially now)! To develop this region it takes some young men and women that learn good English (like yourselves) and to open the region for American and European tourists to come in small groups and do what we call farm-tourism. People would LOVE the traditional life (for a week or maybe 2 ;-) ) , get some cooking workshops like you did with your family , drink the local produced cherry wine or other alcohol, make walks and get explanations about the old times. I am sure people would absolutely LOVE this. What the normal life is in those villages is a health camp to tourists :-) Chopping fire wood and make an fire at dusk... grill some local meat.. make soup.. real Russian village food... what is there that can be better? You know americans would love to get in contact with their "old enemies" :-) Show them Russians are almost normal humans :-p - irony overload of course - Would n't this be an excellent business case?

Pelmeni. I was with Russian friends in St Petersburg. We were making them. They could seal the dough around the meat so quickly. I took ages and the shape of my pelmeni looked more like slugs. But they still tasted delicious.

You are doing a great job by capturing real life stories of aunt Galya .She lived in such difficult times of Russian history and has so much country life experiences, energy, wisdom these people are real treasures though remain unnoticed, unheard and unsung .We are really fortunate to see such people and through her life have a glimpse of Russia’s past. The problem of slow breaking down of countryside life and infrastructure ,I suppose is a general problem all over the world. It is true there has to be a material, spiritual regeneration of countryside and reverse migration from city to country, resource shifting from industry to agriculture ,spread of market and tradings more to small towns and countryside.
My wife noticed that it was your mother singing. She loved it. Aunt Galya was so kind and personable and the country way of life is very chill and relaxing I'm happy that you all enjoyed it as a family. Happy you got your drone back as well and that you all had some fresh food and wonderful times. It almost brought us to tears
Some villages look exactly the same as old abandoned Saskatchewan villages. And same topography explains all the Russian immigrants that came to Saskatchewan. Happy 70th to Aunt Galya

Your Aunt Galya is very nice. Where she lives reminds me of where my great-grandmother lived on a small farm in western Pennsylvania. And there are many old abandoned building across America in rural areas that looked exactly like those in your video. Around the year 1900, about 90 percent of Americans were farmers and ranchers. But as industry and technology grew, only about two percent of Americans are now farmers and ranchers. We never had pelmeni when I was growing up, but a popular dish was "pigs in the blanket," which was ground meat and cooked rice wrapped in cabbage leaves and baked for a while. You have a very nice family! And nice ending and song!
@@ДмитрийКардаков-ф9р no. Pelmeni (Russian pronunciation: [pʲɪlʲˈmʲenʲɪ]; Russian: пельмeни-plural, пельмень Russian pronunciation: [pʲɪlʲˈmʲenʲ]-singular) are dumplings of Russian cuisine that consist of a filling wrapped in thin, unleavened dough.

Thank you for this lovely visit! Glad to see your parents so young and happy. Aunt Galya optimistic and happy also. Country life is good, but yes, hard for young people. Maybe your generation will tire of city life and return to the countryside to have it bloom again in appreciation of clean air, water and nature. Lovely singing and views at the end. Long live Russia and its people!

Amazing video, Slava! Simple things like talks with the local guys who are bored in the village, house chores with Aunt Galya, making pelmeni and exploring the forests, what a nice weekend it must be! This video has some kind and peaceful atmosphere, but it's also so sad to realise that the villages in Russia are not as developed as they could be. So much land with such a great potential. And this looks exactly the same as villages in the Far East of Russia where I live.

Very interesting listening to your relation. It’s amazing how she has internet, yet their are villages in UK who don’t have or very little speed. In UK many villages have lost their local post offices, etc so the elderly have to bus to nearby town. How there was little crime in her younger years same where I lived in a city, people wouldn’t touch so could leave doors unlocked. Where I lived is a wealthy area, but today it’s known people will leave their home in am to find individuals sleeping on their doorstep. I know live on the edge of a housing estate where break ins can easily happen if not a house but cars or shops. I have security cameras on my home as others do in the area.

Thanks for such a heartwarming and uplifting vlog. Aunt Galya's advice to the young couple was excellent. If more couples applied her words to their relationships there would be far fewer discontented people and quite a bit more happy relationships 😊. The drone shots were so beautiful of the countryside. I felt sad for the young men that you interviewed who said that there were not any real prospects for them in the countryside. That seems to be a common problem in many countries. Looking forward to your upcoming programs. Take care and have a pleasant and rewarding weekend. 🤗❤🙏🌎
I personally think that if I could get there it would be awesome. I love what I've seen, people here are doing their best to start living that way. You don't need a gym if you cut wood all the time.

Because of pandemic many people around the world are moving back to countryside and this is the new norm. I don't know if it's a good or bad for that place. More and more big city are getting empty. Now people started to realize how simple and beautiful living this way. Love this place, it's beautiful!💗💗💗
I love these videos. Well done sir. You show the world a Russia that few realize exists. I live in a rural part of Pennsylvania and I feel a kindred spirit with your family and friends in these small Russian villages. It is so similar to American rural life, it truly is. What a shame to see such rot and waste that could be productive and prosperous. I have to wonder with massive populations in China and India that more capital is not put into Russian rural areas. People will always have to eat and there is so much potential from what I see.
Aunt Galya you are a treasure for sure, no matter where we come from (USA) for me. You remind me a lot of the older folks here. Much respect and I always enjoy visiting you even if it is just by UA-cam. Would love to do so one day. God Bless you all!

Beautiful people! I'm reminded so much of my younger years here in Ohio, USA, when my aunts and uncles lived on the farm. They were down to earth people like you who shared life and love from the bountiful land. Continued blessings to us all.
Just like Croatian villages!

A huge thank you from Vancouver, B,C. Canada 🇨🇦 for another outstanding video. Your aunt reminds me of my mom who lived through terrible times in Poland. Many similar stories from my mom who sadly passed away a number of years ago age 98. Excellent videos, I wait patiently for each new one. A very happy birthday to your delightful aunt. 🎂🎈🎊🎁🎉
Nice. Home spun love

You know americans would love to get in contact with their "old enemies" :-) Show them Russians are almost normal humans :-p - irony overload of course -
Would n't this be an excellent business case?
we had the same thoughts..i see has vast the land is.. surely good potential for a farming..but babushka knew better 🙂
Great idea brother

Pelmeni. I was with Russian friends in St Petersburg. We were making them. They could seal the dough around the meat so quickly. I took ages and the shape of my pelmeni looked more like slugs. But they still tasted delicious.
My wife and I really enjoyed this episode! Thanks for sharing. Your Aunt Galya is full of life and energy. What a blessing. It's nice to see the rest of your family also.
Nice, back to real Russian life. These are the best images. When people cultivate their future meals. Respect ✊🏿 babushka 🇷🇺

I love Russia. It reminds me so much to my country Cuba. Blessings on the Russian People. God Bless them
Beautiful people, beautiful houses, beautiful places! I like this! It's like in my Romania! Big like!
The pelemi look a lot like Italian ravioli, or Polish pierogi. Your aunt is a sweetheart, and has had a hard life. God bless her 🙏
Polish pierogi in Russian called “vareniki”. Slavic food.
@@ilonochkaya
in principle, this is a common world dish - dough with filling
but specifically dumplings finno-ugric food
@@ДмитрийКардаков-ф9р no. Pelmeni (Russian pronunciation: [pʲɪlʲˈmʲenʲɪ]; Russian: пельмeни-plural, пельмень Russian pronunciation: [pʲɪlʲˈmʲenʲ]-singular) are dumplings of Russian cuisine that consist of a filling wrapped in thin, unleavened dough.
@@ilonochkaya
Russians are a mixture of different peoples, Slavs, Turks, and the autochthonous population of the northeastern Fino-Ugrians.
all this applies to the kitchen
specifically, dumplings are not just minced meat in dough
if you are interested, read the book of the Soviet-Russian historian V. Pokhlebkin - "The Cuisine of the Peoples of Russia"
@@ДмитрийКардаков-ф9р I'm talking about ethnic Russians. Turks and Finno-Ugrians are not enough for such a number of ethnic Russians. it was the Russians who left their mark on their DNA, culture and not vice versa.
This video is just freaking awesome! What a lovely family you have.
Such a lovely & nice people & place - luckiest people living in unpolluted areas -
Best wishes to Aunt Galya !
I would love to live in a village there. I am from the USA in Virginia quite near to the areas you visited recently. I am 58 and married. Never been out of the US. I dream of one day living a quiet life in the country here and love to see how the Russians live in village life there. It looks like a beautiful and simple lifestyle filled with hard work and great rewards. Thank you so much for sharing your stories on here. I am always watching "Kend Heyati" on You Tube. The "e" after the "K" and the "H" is in reverse. They do wonderful videos on cooking and country living. I also watch many of "The Ulengovs" videos along with many others. All including your videos are just wonderful to watch. Many blessings to you and your family! Thanks again and take care. Hope to see you visit the US again someday!
Здравствуйте, тетя Галя, рада видеть вас на UA-cam
Спасибо, что впустили меня в свой дом. Я как привидение в комнате. Операторская работа Славы заставляет меня чувствовать себя так, как будто я с тобой в доме. С наилучшими пожеланиями вам всегда, J. Carey Green Bay WI
Hi John,
I'm currently in a Russian Orthodox monastery on the Keweenaw in the UP and also learning Russian. I'll be driving to Appleton and then Slinger in a month or so. Would you be interested in meeting for a little if you're in Green Bay?
God bless,
Jonathan
Hello bro. I just stumbled on your UA-cam channel and I've been watching your videos. Very very awesome content. I never knew places like this exist in Russia. I stay in Ekaterinburg also and would love to meet you in person. Great videos bro.
Спасибо ‘Тётя Галя ‘ за то Вы нам учили как пельмены готовить! Ибо завтра 10 годовщина свадьбы Майкла Уэст и Оля Кириллова в г. Калининград. Мы будем готовить пельмены как Вас!
Ну, да - приехать в лёгкую на выходные для разнообразия ради экзотики - это одно. А жить и системно работать каждодневно в деревне - это другое. Не многие выдержат.
Your aunt is so lovely and I really love to see more about Russian countryside. Your videos are awesome. Regards from Malaysia 🇲🇾

Thank you Natasha. We're totally on the same page about this
M watching this video after I watch yeah Russia video
What a lovely way to spend the weekend 🌞🌄
... one of my favorite videos...bring me back to my time in Borneo when helping my parents to feed their pigs with boiled taro leaves and roots or cassava mixed with rice bran. Your aunt's chicken look healthy. Nice to see your aunt still active and healthy and doing things by her self.
Thank You for a lovely film. Wonderful countryside and such lovely people. We are all the same the world over. Bless you all. Brian. From England U.K.
Вы правы! Привет с Урала.
I really love your presentations. God bless Russia.
Thank you very much!
The star guest is back. I can imagine Aunt Galya picking up a kalashnikov if anyone dares to invade Russia :)
Wow, I am shicked to read that. We would expect villages in Russia or Brazil(where I am from) to be forsaken by the government, but not in the UK.

Bol'shaya Lyubov' to Aunt Galya and her beautiful chickens and garden.
She has some trouble walking but there is nothing wrong with her head. The coolest babushka.
She reminds me of my granny who lived at a farm and had chickens.
''Kip'' in Dutch. And while feeding them she used to yell high pitched ''kippy kippy kippy kippy kippy kippy'' :')
I can still hear it.

Another fantastic video. I can't share this video enough with my friends. I'm originally from Ukraine but have only been back once to the city of Korosten. I live in Atlanta but really want to visit the villages of my ancestors again soon.
Korosten had a porcelain plant producing beautiful wares, but after collapse of USSR it was bankrupted and shut. Some vases can still be found at antique fairs.

I miss Russia and her people. 99 % of people were so friendly and hospitable. Even in St. Petersburg, I felt safe walking home in the snow...4Kms..at anytime of the night. The Russian country people still have a large place in my heart.
Beautiful video. Even though I can't speak a word of Russian, I ended up hearing what you guys were saying without even reading subtitles... Good job.. I love aunt Galya..... I plan touring Russia late next year... and wish I could see her...
In my province in Canada it's the same. No jobs outside the city. But I'd rather be poor in the country than live in the city. People need to make your own jobs Sell produce make jams or preserves etc. City people love buying that stuff.
For what I am reading in the comments, the Country is beijg neglected everywhere, not only in poor Countries.
Thank you so much again for sharing such a beutiful and natural video about the life at your aunt's place. You really have a special gift in life, to express real life in Russian villages... and so easy to love the great happiness in your family. Your aunt Galya is such a wonderful woman... and just like the rest of your family.. Thank you again so much, I enjoyed every second of your video :-)
Sooperb video Slava. Wonderful Russian country side. Many more regards to aunt Galya, 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗.
Hi Slava and Lena. Another terrific story. So much work goes into each of your episodes. Well done. I watch other Russian vlogers and Slava, your English is amazing. You sound like an American. I don't know how you duplicate the English sounds with no Russian accent.
Thank you!

God bless you, Aunt Galya! Thank you for sharing your incredible life with us.
Thank you, Slava, for your presentation of rural Russia, I am much more at home in these settings than the big flashy cities.
