Love watching your videos there in Russia. I am in Texas as was raised on a ranch and worked cattle when I was younger and was amazed at how the Russian countryside and villages look very similar to our rural country here. I grew up during the cold war but I actually believe we have more in common than we realize. People are people.

@Charles Flowers: THANK YOU, dear Charles, from Achim in Munich / Bavaria / Germany. - I´m so happy about the simple - but so TRUE ! - things you wrote here. Yes, I grew up, too, during the cold war; and my dear mother had to flee with her family from the "Red Army" in 1945 from her hometown Königsberg, the nowadays Kaliningrad, to western Germany just to save their lives. - But OF COURSE I don´t feel the slightest hatred or even bad emotions against "the Russians" ! - How could I. - You´re SO right: People are people !! As well as certainly you did I learned so much from videos like this one here; please let´s go on trying to understand people from anywhere, maybe from VERY different parts of the world. ALL THE BEST to your amazing country, the United States, and even more to the great State of Texas ! Cheers from Achim & God bless you and your family.
Love your videos about Russia. What i like the most is you cover the countryside...Though they live in a remote area...they do have a peaceful, joyful and happy living with their own produce etc...like they are self-reliant and its a feel good factor. Wish to see more of such videos in the near future.....Love Russians :)

What a great way to take a break! I have seen Aunt Galya in one of your vlogs before and I remembered she sang a beautiful song then. Now I am amazed how she moves around, even enjoys chopping woods, cooking comfort foods, all by herself! I would have loved being with her :) She is such a lovable woman. I love how she recollects her childhood memories, too. Your 3-day sojourn was so wonderful, despite the rain. Everytime you gather around the dining table was my favorite part, so simple, and yet so cozy and the dishes look palatable. Thank you for sharing another interesting content. Keep inspiring us!
This was a really beautiful video, both scenery and intimate family moments, thank you. I really like how Lena fits in with your family so well, and of course any video on your beloved aunt Galya is so special and heart warming. You transport many of us who are so far away and live such a different life like my life here in Australia, in to a different unimaginable world. One where people are more connected to and appreciative of the simple things. We have become so spoilt with excess' that we fail to register what is truly important, being propinquity which is what your videos are all about Slava. I found it particularly interesting to see the holodets prepared. To me it is soo undesirable but my beloved here from the Ukraine says it is his favourite and so I have found a local Ukrainian woman to make it for him. Finally I would love to send something to your aunt from here in Australia. Mein Sashulya can translate in to Russian so she can read, but where would you like me to post it to please Slava? Again thank you and greetings from Australia. Your friend David
Being a Boomer, my perception of Russia, and the Russian people was completely formed by American culture and thought. of course, as the years have passed, I've gotten to know some Russian folks, and generally found them to be delightful. In each case, it took a bit longer to get to know them due to their reserved nature, but once they warmed up, they revealed themselves to be wonderful people. These videos go even further in that vein. Keep up the great work. Someday, perhaps, I'll check out Russia for myself.
I truly enjoy all your videos. It's so interesting comparing life in Russia and Norway. We have actually many similar things in our culture, surprisingly for me . Keep up the good work! 👍
Your video has brought me back some good memories from my childhood. Thanks for presenting the people as they are, and countryside as it is without any pretension. I'm looking forward for the next video.
your videos are awesome. They give an unbiased insight into life in Russia, rural locations, cities, old and young folk etc. Aditionally youre a sympathetic guy with a sympathetic family which makes it all the more better. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for sharing the everyday life of russian people living in the villages. The man at the church was right. There will be a time that people will return to the villages again. Again thank you for sharing!
Love this part of Russia. Rustic, beautiful and peaceful. Good people too. I also love that you are close to your sister and family. Much respect and thank you for sharing. Greetings from Amizmiz, on the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
Different evolutions. Breeding different civilizations. One totally free; another, directed and oppressed for decades. In an odd way, Russians turned out more cultivated; circunstances, made them closer too. Affluence separates people.
@@jorgevallimdemedeiros2107 I often wonder if we have too many choices from early in our lives. Obviously children are going to choose the superficial comforts. And we grow up not knowing how to choose occasional sacrifice for long term gain or choose for enrichment of the soul instead of enrichment of our taste buds, etc.. I don't know. But I thought you had a cool insight. We're planning a trip to Russia in 2022 - and the "natural living" of the culture wasn't on our radar. I'm going to look at that more closely to see what we can learn. Thank you for the comments.
You're probably comparing this to life in a town or city in USA. I can assure you in very rural countryside of the US it's exactly the same. Just as big cities in the US are 'artificial', Moscow is going to be extremely artificial as well.
that was awesome,..my grandmother made jellied meat just like that. Those were meals i grew up on,..wow we are so similar,..from one country life to another. and from different countries. WOW!! thank you for sharing.
Thanks for another amazing video Slava. It makes me homesick for the old days. Love your Aunt Galya, what a wonderful woman. Thank her for opening her house for all your visitors from around the world. If I was younger and able to travel I would sure love to meet her. Oh well, maybe in another life.
This was such a beautiful viedo !!! You have a fantastic skill, to come so close to the people you are with. I enjoyed every second of this video from the countryside, also with your wonderful aunt Galya ! It felt like I was there with you all, and to be honest, a few times I was so touched, that a tear was falling down my cheek... becaust things were so real and so beautiful.. I've been in Russia several times and last time I also visitied a village with dachas... Thank you s much for making and sharing all your great videos... this one was in my opinon a masterpiece :-)
Thank you so much. I wasn't really doing anything extra I was just filming the way things are. Well except Vika is a lot more shy when the camera is on
Thanks for your positive videos and for extra practice of the English Language. My wife and I watch them on the regular basis and I also share your videos with my friends from the USA and they really enjoy watching them and learn every time something new about Russia.
Your aunt is so sweet and everyone there was very warm (except the Assistant Priest lol). It was very nicely balanced with activities, family stories, quality time, and seeing the countryside. I’m going to make those Belarussian potatoes.
The vastness of the country is humbling and open. I see Russia’s future as less of cities, to more rural areas. If so it will be interesting. Family is important as it should be. Pets are a reflection of who you are. I think you are a good person and it shows. Thanks for sharing your time with us. As always, you are doing excellent work. See ya later.
@Liz A I understand the justification to follow the work opportunities. Russia is blessed with the room to grow. My opinion. Food products and product distribution could improve. Small business entrepreneurs can focus on products and services they do the best. Small business owner doesn’t have to devolve, manufacture and market everything. Build up the rural farms. It’s worth a try. It would require some government financial subsistence. Competition with China would be a challenge. Russians can be pretty stubborn but they will find a way. I enjoy my life. I would find it difficult to live in an apartment on the 10 story building surround with millions of people, pollution and crime. If I had the choice.
@Liz A With a good internet infrastructure towns could also develop as there would be people who enjoy the countryside life and if they can work from home then they do not need the city, I am not referring to the current situation but it could be a big push for companies to move more jobs to remote option. I currently work from home and would prefer to live in a small town. Also, Russia does not have the population to grow its cities unless it opens its border to third world countries.

I watch all of your videos. Thanks man for making these, I am fascinated with Russia because my great grandparents were from St. Petersburg. I was supposed to go for the summer but the pandemic hit and changed my plans. Thankfully I can watch your videos for now. Maybe next summer when I come we can say hello. Your sister is very pretty by the way 🙂. Stay safe guys

thanks for another excellent vlog, I felt i was in my grandmothers house. I wise there was Smell-O-Vision , all I could think of was the potatoes butter and dill !.
You've got me intrigued. Your references to Russian poets on returning to the village, with sisters and doggo, it's a bit romantic isn't it? Great video so far.
Greeting from Australia, love your videos.
I love to watch your perspective of Russian life whether it is in the city or country. Especially the everyday chit chats with your family. Completely different from where I am from here in Australia.
Your videos are the best and great to hear your Aunt Galya stories!
I love Aunt Galya's house. Such beautiful colors.
Watching from the lush green mountains of Western North Carolina 😀👋💕
I really enjoy watching your videos. I am going to Angarsk (Irkutsk Oblast) next month and will spend the entire winter with my Russian family near lake Baikal. Interesting thing is I will be the cook and will be cooking Greek, Turkish and mainly Aegean and Mediterranean kitchen during my stay.
I have great doubts that you will find the ingredients and spices for these kitchens there

What a lovely family you have. Thanks so much for sharing your trips, adventures and conversations with the people you meet. I've been to Russia and want very badly to go back for another visit.
These are the best type of travel videos. Better than anything on television's travel channel. A Wonderful family you have, and beautiful countryside. keep up your visits to rural areas, they are so nice.
P.S. What is the name of aunt's village and where is it in relation to Ekaterinburg?
Thank you
love these videos. Watching from British Columbia. Keep them coming :)
Very fascinating to see. Especially the meals. Reminds me of when my wife and I would go to Greece 🇬🇷 to see her mom. Your aunt looks like a sweetheart 💕. Treasure her. Seeing inside the church was also interesting. Again reminds me of Greece, especially the priest. More of these, please.
Lol bro I laughed so hard when you ask Vika and Lena if they love 'holodets' and your sweet aunt breaks into laughter I don't know why that seemed so funny and great to me 😄
This was literally amazing. Thank you Slava
Thank you too Luca
