@@itchingtogo7362 Right and it wouldn't take a lot. That Lakeview trail could be blazed nicely in one day. I only looked at the SP camping at dock 2 and it was not great at all. That would take a little more work but it has potential.
They only allow camping in designated sites. Burr Oak State Park has a few different campgrounds around the lake that you can reserve sites online for a fee. The campground we stayed is outside the State Park, in the National forest. That one is first come first serve and you pay at that kiosk.
@@personaltimeoutdoors thanks my friend yeah I’m looking for a place that I can go other than Zawinski State Park. I love that place but then hills kick my old ass on 56 with leukemia, trying to find some better places to backpack that allow me to camp on the trails also, that isn’t all hard on the endurance level this went here said moderate so I thought cool and then I realized there’s no places to camp. 🤨
@@olddad67 The Wildcat Hollow trail is fairly close to Burr Oak. I've not visited myself but I believe they do allow dispersed camping on that trail. There might be a way to utilize that in a hike. I've not looked too closely into it so I can't say for sure.
Just for future information, there is a spur trail at the northern end of the park that leads over to Wildcat Hollow. You can disperse camp there for free, and there are sites very near the trailhead that you can take advantage of. Also, the spur trail leading from Burr Oak Cove down to the lake and the small area around it are actually separate from the state park and part of the Wayne National forest. So, dispersed camping is allowed there. I have taken advantage of this and there are a couple of sites along the lake in this area that are nice. I have heard that the state park may annex this area, but so far they haven't. Using these two areas, you can make a two night backpacking trip around the entire lake.
Great video enjoyed watching this thans
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
Camped at the state park a couple years ago. Beautiful area…but agree…needs some TLC on trails and at the state park campground.

Nice video.
Thanks, I appreciate you watching!
Curious as to what date you were there because of the fall foliage. Great video.
We were there the weekend of October 29, 2022. Thanks for watching the video!
Is there any free primitive camping on the trail or do you have to pay for your every site?
