Mohican State Park Overnight Backpacking Trip

I take a trip to Mohican State Park in Ohio and camp overnight at Park and Pack site number 4. I hike the red trail and see first hand the damage caused by the 2022 tornado.

Although I don't mind free, I think with so few sites I would prefer to be able to pay for a reservation. They can use the money for park upkeep. Nice job on the video.

Camp 6 at the second parking lot just above the hill is a good place and it's a short walk it's just up the hill and in front of the parking lot you got your creek good water too

I do know about that parking area but I wanted to hike a little further.

I haven't been up to Mohegan for quite some time
I think it was the last time was 3 years ago at campsite 10 lower half third shelf

Site 10 was nice. Camped there with the scout troop maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It's a shame it is closed.

Young man you know you have to drive an hour to have to get down there it's not a waste of time You still have the buckeye trail down that way You can still do a loop and camp out for one to two nights
A lot of people forget about the buckeye trail down that way

Guilty as charged. I would have never thought about the buckeye trail. I always thought it was more around the perimeter of Ohio.

Looks like ohio lumberd it out .i think they are going to drill in it next year so they will close it again.

They did remove a lot of the fallen trees to keep it from becoming a forest fire hazard.
